Prague – The Golden City in the Heart of Europe

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, had been my hometown for nineteen years. Prague, known as a Golden City is a beautiful city in the heart of Europe, representing both, fascinating and breathtaking history so as its modernity. As you walk through the city center, you immediately feel it has its own unique atmosphere, which is not interchangeable with any other city – the narrow magic streets, thousands of red rooftops stretching across the city or beautiful bridges over Vltava river are one example of its uniqueness.

The city flourished during the 14^th century under the reign of the Charles IV and the most known historical monuments such as the Charles Bridge or Charles University, the oldest university in the central Europe, were built. Furthermore, the Old Town of Prague is a crossroad of astonishing architecture from Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic eras. The Old Town is predominantly proud of its medieval astronomical clock Orloj or Prague Castle, which is the largest castle complex in the world. In the castle area, the Roman Catholic St. Vitus cathedral, one of the most opulent cathedrals in the Czech Republic, can be found. Next to the castle, Petrin tower located on the Petrin hill gives amazing view over the city. It is highly recommended to visit the tower especially in the spring and summer times, while enjoying a cup of coffee or a cold beer on the top of the hill.

It is not only the history, which makes the city so pleasant for its inhabitants and attracts millions of tourists every year. I very much appreciated its beautiful cafés offering traditional Czech cakes. Additionally, Prague is a paradise for those, who enjoy tasty beer or typical dumpling dishes, which can be found in all Czech pubs and restaurants. One should not forget the hospitality, warmth and friendliness of Czech people, which makes the city even more popular and evoke the feeling to be welcomed. Who wouldn´t want to return to Prague one day.

Praga – A Cidade Dourada no coração da Europa

Praga (Praha), a capital da República Checa, é minha cidade desde dezenove anos. Praga, conhecida como a Cidade Dourada, localizada no coração da Europa, possui uma história fascinante e também se torna deslumbrante devido à sua modernidade.

Quando você caminha pelo centro da cidade, imediatamente você pode sentir sua atmosfera única, a qual não é encontrada em nenhuma outra cidade – as mágicas ruas estreitas, milhares de telhados vermelhos que se estendem por toda a cidade ou as belas pontes sobre o rio Moldava são alguns dos exemplos que fazem a singularidade de Praga.

A cidade floresceu durante o século XIV sob o regime do Rei Carlos IV e os monumentos históricos mais conhecidos como a Ponte Carlos (Karluv Most) ou a Universidade de Carlos, a mais antiga universidade da Europa central, foram construídos nessa época.

Além disso, na Cidade Velha de Praga (Stare Mesto) você encontra exemplares de arquitetura dos estilos românico, barroco e gótico. Essa área orgulha-se do seu relógio astronômico medieval Orloj, do Castelo de Praga, que é o maior complexo do castelo no mundo. Na área do castelo, encontra-se a catedral católica romana de São Vito, uma das catedrais mais opulentas na República Checa.

Junto ao castelo, a torre de Petrin localizada na colina de Petrin oferece uma vista fantástica da cidade. Recomendo visitar a torre especialmente durante a primavera e verão, enquanto você desfruta de uma xícara de café ou uma cerveja gelada no topo dessa colina.

Não é somente a história que faz Praga tão agradável para seus habitantes e para os milhares de turistas que a visitam todos os anos. Eu gosto muito dos cafés que oferecem os típicos bolos checos. Além disso, Praga é um paraíso para aqueles que gostam de cerveja saborosa ou os típicos bolinho de massa, que podem ser encontrados em todos os bares e restaurantes checos.

Não se deve esquecer a hospitalidade, cordialidade e simpatia dos checos, o que torna a cidade ainda mais popular, fazendo com que os visitantes sintam que são bem-vindos e desejem retornar.

Prag – Die Goldene Stadt im Herzen Europas

Prag, die Hauptstadt der Tschechischen Republik, ist 19 Jahre lang meine Heimatstadt gewesen. Prag, als “Goldene Stadt” bekannt, ist eine schöne Stadt im Herzen Europas, sie repräsentiert sowohl faszinierende und atemberaubende Geschichte als auch Modernität. Wenn Sie durch die Innenstadt spazieren, bekommen Sie sofort das Gefühl einer ganz eigenen Atmosphäre, nicht vergleichbar mit anderen Städten.  Der Zauber der engen Straßen, die Vielzahl der roten Dächer und die schönen Brücken über die Moldau sind Beispiele für die Einzigartigkeit von Prag.

Die Stadt blühte im 14. Jahrhundert unter der Herrschaft von Karl IV auf und die bekanntesten historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Karlsbrücke oder die Karls-Universität, die älteste Universität in Mitteleuropa, wurden zu seiner Zeit erbaut. Darüber hinaus stellt die Altstadt von Prag eine Kreuzung von erstaunlicher Architektur aus romanischen, barocken und gotischen Epochen dar. Der Stolz der Altstadt beruht überwiegend  auf ihre mittelalterliche astronomische Uhr Orloj und die Prager Burg, die größte Burganlage auf dieser Welt. Innerhalb des Schlossbereiches befindet sich der römisch-katholische St.-Veits-Dom, eine der reichsten Kathedralen in der Tschechischen Republik. Nahe dem Schloss bietet sich vom Petrin-Turm auf dem Petrin-Hügel ein atemberaubenden Blick über die Stadt. Es ist sehr empfehlenswert, den Turm vor allem im Frühling und Sommer zu besuchen, um dann oben auf dem Hügel  eine Tasse Kaffee oder ein kühles Bier zu geniessen.

Es ist nicht nur die Geschichte, die die Stadt so angenehm für seine Bewohner macht und jedes Jahr Millionen von Touristen anzieht. Ich  schätze sehr seine schönen Cafés mit traditionellem tschechischen Kuchen. Darüber hinaus ist Prag ein Paradies für diejenigen, die gutes Bier oder typische Knödelgerichte mögen, die in allen tschechischen Kneipen und Restaurants zu finden sind.  Nicht zu vergessen, die Gastfreundschaft, Wärme und Freundlichkeit der Tschechen, die diese Stadt noch liebenswerter machen und einem das Gefühl geben, “Willkommen zu sein”. Wer würde dann nicht eines Tages wieder nach Prag  zurückkehren wollen.
