– Projeto Tamar
É em torno do Farol Garcia D’Ávila que está localizado o Centro de Visitantes do Projeto Tamar. Trata-se de uma instituição que trabalha com a proteção, pesquisa e manejo de cinco espécies de tartarugas marinhas que existem no país. Entre os meses de setembro e março elas desovam na Praia do Forte e em outros locais do litoral brasileiro. É visita obrigatória para quem visita a Praia do Forte.
– Reserva de Sapiranga
É uma área com 600 hectares de Mata Atlântica onde é possível se realizar caminhadas ecológicas. Trata-se de uma opção para os apaixonados por natureza. Quando passamos por lá, havia guias na entrada da mesma oferecendo passeios nesse paraíso natural.
– Projeto Baleia Jubarte
A Praia do Forte também possui um centro de visitação destinado às enormes baleias jubartes que visitam essa área do Brasil, oriundas da Antártica, entre julho e outubro de cada ano. É possível realizar um passeio para avistá-las e assistir uma palestra sobre elas realizadas nessa instituição.
– Castel Garcia D’ Ávila
É um passeio interessante para os que se interessam pela história do Brasil. Trata-se da primeira grande edificação portuguesa construída no Brasil. No local existe as ruínas do castelo que pertenceu ao almoxarife da coroa real. As ruínas estão bem conservadas e o local está bem-preparado para a recepção de visitantes. Vale a pena a visita.
– Parque Klaus
O Parque Natural Municipal da Restinga de Praia do Forte, Parque Klaus Peters é uma outra opção para quem curte realizar trilhas ecológicas e estar pertinho da natureza. Ele está localizado ao lado da sede do Projeto Baleia Jubarte e é uma Unidade de Conservação Integral onde é possui dunas e lagoa. Ele possui 254 hectares.
– Lagoa de Aruá
Ela está localizada a 5 km da Praia do Forte, é mais uma opção de passeio para quem gosta de se banhar em lagoa e aproveitar o contato com a natureza.

Imagine a beach with calm waters, with warm water, ideal for bathing, in a village with good tourist infrastructure and, moreover, with easy access to Luiz Eduardo Magalhães Airport in Salvador, just 56 km from there and 80 km from the historic center of Salvador.
Well, we are talking about Praia do Forte on the north coast of Bahia known as Costa dos Coqueiros.
It’s a very good destination to spend a weekend strolling along the pedestrian street and possibly attending a course on environmental protection.
Praia do Forte is the headquarters of Projeto Tamar, famous in Brazil for turtle conservation.
The main street of Praia do Forte is Alameda do Sol. She is the heart of the city. Bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors and shops for every taste are concentrated here. It’s where visitors gather at night to eat, drink and hang out!
What are the main tourist attractions in Praia do Forte?
– The beaches
Praia do Forte has three beaches that attract tourists from all over the world. – Tamar project

– Sapiranga Reserve

– Humpback Whale Project

– Castel Garcia D’Avila
