A cidade está situada às margens do rio Mosa e é cercada por altos penhascos, formando uma paisagem espetacular. No alto das rochas encontra-se a imponente Cidadela de Dinant, de onde se tem uma vista panorâmica do vale e do rio.

Durante a Idade Média, Dinant foi um importante centro comercial e, até hoje, preserva uma rica herança histórica e cultural.

O principal símbolo da cidade é a magnífica Igreja Colegiada de Notre-Dame, com sua característica torre em forma de bulbo que se destaca diante das rochas.

Os visitantes podem chegar à cidadela de Dinant subindo mais de 400 degraus ou utilizando o teleférico (quando visitamos Dinant em maio de 2026, o teleférico estava passando por reparos, segundo informações obtidas na Maison du Tourisme, o serviço de restauração do mesmo será finalizado em, aproximadamente, dois anos).

Um passeio pela margem do rio Mosa, repleta de cafés, restaurantes e barcos turísticos, é uma experiência muito agradável.

Dinant também é conhecida por ser a cidade natal de Adolphe Sax, nascido em 1814 e inventor do saxofone. Um interessante museu homenageia sua vida e sua invenção, enquanto esculturas coloridas de saxofones decoram diversos pontos da cidade.

Os arredores oferecem excelentes oportunidades para caminhadas, passeios de caiaque e cruzeiros pelo rio. A poucos quilômetros encontram-se as impressionantes cavernas de Han-sur-Lesse, além de castelos e antigas abadias.

Os passeios de barco pelo vale do Mosa são uma das atrações mais procuradas pelos visitantes.

Durante o verão, Dinant recebe festivais de música e diversos eventos culturais que atraem turistas do mundo inteiro.

A gastronomia regional encanta com especialidades belgas, deliciosos chocolates e as famosas cervejas do país.

Die Stadt liegt direkt an den Ufern der Maas und wird von steilen Felsen umgeben, die ihr ein unverwechselbares Landschaftsbild verleihen.

Hoch über der Altstadt thront die mächtige Zitadelle von Dinant, die einen spektakulären Blick über das Tal und den Fluss bietet. Bereits im Mittelalter war Dinant ein bedeutendes Handelszentrum und ist bis heute reich an Geschichte und Kultur.

Das Wahrzeichen der Stadt ist die beeindruckende Stiftskirche Notre-Dame mit ihrem markanten Zwiebelturm, der sich eindrucksvoll vor den Felsen erhebt.

Besucher erreichen die Zitadelle entweder über mehr als 400 Stufen oder bequem mit einer Seilbahn(Bei unserem Besuch in Dinant im Mai 2026 wurde die Seilbahn repariert; nach Angaben des Tourismusbüros werden die Restaurierungsarbeiten voraussichtlich in zwei Jahren abgeschlossen sein).

Besonders reizvoll ist ein Spaziergang entlang der Maaspromenade mit ihren Cafés, Restaurants und Ausflugsschiffen.

Dinant gilt außerdem als Geburtsstadt des Erfinders Adolphe Sax, der im Jahr 1814 hier geboren wurde und das Saxophon entwickelte. Ihm ist ein interessantes Museum gewidmet, und überall in der Stadt finden sich kunstvoll gestaltete Saxophone als Erinnerung an seinen berühmtesten Sohn.

Die Umgebung von Dinant lädt zu Wanderungen, Kajaktouren und Bootsfahrten auf der Maas ein. Nur wenige Kilometer entfernt befinden sich die beeindruckenden Tropfsteinhöhlen von Han-sur-Lesse sowie zahlreiche Schlösser und Abteien.

Besonders beliebt sind auch Flusskreuzfahrten, bei denen man die Schönheit des Maastals genießen kann. Im Sommer finden regelmäßig Musikfestivals und kulturelle Veranstaltungen statt, die Besucher aus aller Welt anziehen.

Die regionale Küche verwöhnt mit belgischen Spezialitäten, köstlichen Pralinen und den berühmten belgischen Bieren.

Visitors can reach the citadel by climbing more than 400 steps or by taking the cable car(when we visited Dinant in May 2026, the cable car was undergoing repairs; according to information obtained at the Maison du Tourisme, the restoration work is expected to be completed in approximately two years.).

A walk along the Meuse promenade, lined with cafés, restaurants, and sightseeing boats, is particularly enjoyable.

Dinant is also famous as the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, who was born here in 1814 and invented the saxophone. A fascinating museum is dedicated to him, and beautifully decorated saxophone sculptures can be found throughout the town.

A Ferrovia de Flam/Die Flåm-Bahn/The Flåm Railway

A Ferrovia de Flåm é uma das linhas ferroviárias mais impressionantes do mundo. Ela liga a pequena vila de Flåm, às margens do fiorde Aurlandsfjord, à estação de Myrdal, na Ferrovia de Bergen. A linha tem aproximadamente 20 quilômetros de extensão e vence um desnível de cerca de 867 metros.

Durante a viagem, o trem passa por montanhas íngremes, desfiladeiros profundos e inúmeras cachoeiras.

Um dos destaques é a impressionante cachoeira Kjosfossen, onde o trem faz uma breve parada para fotos.

A ferrovia foi inaugurada em 1940 e é considerada uma obra-prima da engenharia norueguesa. O percurso inclui 20 túneis, muitos deles escavados manualmente na rocha. Com uma inclinação máxima de 5,5%, é uma das ferrovias de bitola padrão mais íngremes do mundo.

A viagem dura cerca de uma hora e oferece paisagens espetaculares em todas as estações do ano. Na primavera, o degelo forma belas cachoeiras. No verão, a vegetação fica intensamente verde. No outono, as florestas ganham cores vibrantes, enquanto o inverno cobre a paisagem com neve e gelo.

A Ferrovia de Flåm é não apenas um importante meio de transporte, mas também uma das atrações turísticas mais famosas da Noruega. Centenas de milhares de visitantes percorrem essa linha ferroviária todos os anos. A combinação de natureza, engenharia e história torna a viagem uma experiência inesquecível. Visitamos Flåm e tivemos a oportunidade de percorrer essa linha ferroviária no  mês de maio durante um viagem de cruzeiro que incluia esse belo itinerário no seu roteiro.

Die Flåm-Bahn gehört zu den beeindruckendsten Eisenbahnstrecken der Welt. Sie verbindet den kleinen Ort Flåm am Aurlandsfjord mit Myrdal auf der Bergenbahn. Die Strecke ist rund 20 Kilometer lang und überwindet einen Höhenunterschied von etwa 867 Metern.

Während der Fahrt passieren die Züge steile Berghänge, tiefe Schluchten und zahlreiche Wasserfälle. Besonders bekannt ist der mächtige Kjosfossen-Wasserfall, an dem der Zug für einen kurzen Fotostopp hält. Die Bahn wurde im Jahr 1940 eröffnet und gilt als Meisterwerk norwegischer Ingenieurskunst. Auf der Strecke befinden sich 20 Tunnel, von denen viele von Hand in den Fels gehauen wurden. Die maximale Steigung beträgt 5,5 Prozent und zählt zu den steilsten normalspurigen Eisenbahnstrecken der Welt.

Die Fahrt dauert etwa eine Stunde und bietet zu jeder Jahreszeit spektakuläre Ausblicke.

Im Frühling rauschen die Schmelzwasserfälle ins Tal, im Sommer erstrahlt die Landschaft in sattem Grün. Im Herbst leuchten die Wälder in kräftigen Farben, während im Winter Schnee und Eis eine märchenhafte Atmosphäre schaffen.

Die Flåm-Bahn ist nicht nur ein wichtiges Verkehrsmittel, sondern auch eine der beliebtesten Touristenattraktionen Norwegens. Jedes Jahr nutzen Hunderttausende Besucher diese außergewöhnliche Bahnstrecke. Die Kombination aus Natur, Technik und Geschichte macht die Fahrt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Wer Norwegen besucht, sollte eine Fahrt mit der Flåm-Bahn unbedingt einplanen.

Wir besuchten Flåm und hatten im Mai die Gelegenheit, im Rahmen einer Kreuzfahrt, die diese wunderschöne Strecke in ihrem Reiseplan beinhaltete, auf dieser Bahnlinie zu reisen.

The Flåm Railway is one of the most spectacular railway lines in the world. It connects the small village of Flåm on the Aurlandsfjord with Myrdal on the Bergen Railway.

The line is approximately 20 kilometers long and climbs about 867 meters in elevation. During the journey, passengers travel past steep mountainsides, deep gorges, and countless waterfalls. One of the highlights is the impressive Kjosfossen Waterfall, where the train stops briefly for photographs.

The railway opened in 1940 and is considered a masterpiece of Norwegian engineering. The route includes 20 tunnels, many of which were carved by hand through solid rock. With a maximum gradient of 5.5 percent, it is one of the steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world.

The journey takes about one hour and offers breathtaking scenery in every season. In spring, melting snow creates powerful waterfalls. In summer, the landscape is covered in lush green vegetation. Autumn brings brilliant colors to the forests, while winter transforms the mountains into a snowy wonderland.

The Flåm Railway is not only an important means of transport but also one of Norway’s most popular tourist attractions. Hundreds of thousands of visitors travel on the railway every year. The unique combination of nature, engineering, and history makes this journey an unforgettable experience. Anyone visiting Norway should include a ride on the Flåm Railway in their travel plans.
