A vila de Jericoacoara fica no estado do Ceará, no nordeste do Brasil, e é considerada um dos destinos de praia mais bonitos da América do Sul.

O antigo vilarejo de pescadores está localizado cerca de 300 quilômetros a oeste da cidade de Fortaleza e está dentro de uma grande área de preservação natural com dunas, lagoas e praias de areia infinita.

Durante muito tempo, Jericoacoara era difícil de alcançar, pois os últimos quilômetros só podiam ser percorridos por trilhas de areia. Esse isolamento ajudou a preservar o charme original do lugar. Hoje Jericoacoara faz parte do Parque Nacional de Jericoacoara, conhecido por sua paisagem única. As altas dunas que se levantam atrás da vila são especialmente impressionantes. Da famosa Duna do Pôr do Sol é possível ver todos os dias um pôr do sol espetacular sobre o mar. Essa vista atrai visitantes do mundo inteiro e é uma das atrações mais conhecidas da região. Outro símbolo do lugar é a formação rochosa Pedra Furada, um arco natural esculpido pelo vento e pelas ondas.

Nos arredores existem lagoas de água doce muito bonitas, como a Lagoa do Paraíso, cujas águas claras e areia branca lembram o Caribe. Jericoacoara é muito procurada por praticantes de windsurf e kitesurf, pois os ventos são ideais quase o ano inteiro. Apesar do turismo crescente, a vila manteve sua atmosfera tranquila e relaxada. A maioria das ruas é de areia e grandes hotéis não são permitidos no centro. Em vez disso, há pequenas pousadas, restaurantes e bares com música brasileira.
