Tasmânia é uma ilha localizada na Austrália, com 220 mil habitantes, com alto nível de qualidade de vida, cuja capital é Hobart, cidade charmosa com um porto elegante, com bares, restaurantes e lojas diversas. Ela está localizada entre o Monte Wellington e o estuário do Rio Derwent.
Hobart é a segunda mais antiga cidade da Austrália e durante sua história serviu como colônia penal.
Erich e eu visitamos Hobart no verão e é uma sugestão de passeio, caso você planeje uma viagem para a Austrália.
Hobart é uma cidade de muitos eventos e um deles é a chegada da Regata Anual Sydney-Hobart, evento famoso na região da Oceania. A tradição marítima é forte por lá.
Um dos cartões postais de Hobart é a Ponte da Tasmânia.
Outro atrativo da cidade é a Catedral de São David, prédio de estilo neo-gótico, oriundo do século XIX.
Outra atração interessante da cidade é o Jardim Botânico (Royal Tasmania Botanical Gardens), com 6500 espécies de plantas.
Do Monte Wellington você tem uma vista espetacular da cidade com a beleza do rio.
Hobart também é conhecida por lá como “a cidade com o ar mais puro do mundo”, não sei se há comprovação científica.
Um dos lugares mais badalados da cidade é a área conhecida como Salamanca Place, lugar de muitos bares, restaurantes, lojas, antiquários. O local possui também o Mercado de Salamanca, com uma grande variedade de produtos.
Vale também a visita ao belo Teatro Royal.
Para os interessados na área criminal sugiro a visita à Penitenciária Convict de Hobart onde é possível participar do tour dessa antiga prisão. De 1860 até 1983 funcionavam nesse prédio duas cortes criminais, na visita é possível conhecer celas, tribunais, uma pequena capela.
Outra opção interessante é realizar o passeio de barco pelo Rio Derwent.
Para quem quer conhecer sobre a história de Hobart recomendo a visita ao Museu de Réplica Mawsons´Huts, onde é possível se conhecer um pouco sobre as condições de vida na Austrália no passado. Outros museus interessantes: Museu Tasmanico e Galeria de Arte e Museu da Antiga e Nova Arte (MONA).
Passear no bairro portuário de Battery Point para observar a bela arquitetura dos edifícios e também as esculturas que embelezam a área é outra opção de lazer.
É possível realizar alguns passeios interessantes a partir de Hobart:
– Visitar o Santuário de Bonorang, lugar que recebe animais doentes, é tipo um “orfanato” para eles. Você pode conhecer alguns, como canguru, o diabo da Tasmania, koalas, dentre outros;
– Conhecer Richmond, uma pequena cidade fundada no início dos anos de 1800, com edificações em estilo georgiano, com a mais antiga igreja católica da Austrália;
– Passear no Parque Nacional Mount Field e conhecer as Cachoeiras Russel;
– Mergulhar na história do lugar visitando Port Arthur, antiga prisão da época colonial, que na época abrigava 12 000 prisioneiros, integra a lista dos bens culturais tombados pela UNESCO e está localizada a 95 km do centro de Hobart;
– Outra visita interessante é ao Museu da Maçã, Huon Valley Apple Shed, onde é possível conhecer muitas informações e curiosidades sobre o cultivo da maçã;
– Visitar vinícolas que produzem vinhos tipo Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay e Pinot Noir.
– A Ilha de Brunny é uma sugestão de passeio de um dia. Lá você pode apreciar as belas vistas do Parque Nacional de Brunny com Adventure Bay e a Praia de Jetty. Essa ilha é famosa também pelos seus doces.

Erich und ich haben Hobart im Sommer besucht, was ratsam ist, falls Sie eine Reise nach Australien planen.
Hobart ist eine Stadt mit vielen Veranstaltungen und eine davon ist die Ankunft der jährlichen Sydney-Hobart-Regatta, einer berühmten Veranstaltung in der Region Ozeanien mit seinen starken maritimen Traditionen.
Eine von Hobarts Postkartenansichten ist die Tasmanian Bridge.
Eine weitere Attraktion der Stadt ist die Kathedrale St. David, ein neugotisches Gebäude aus dem 19. Jahrhundert.
Sehr sehenswert sind auch die Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens mit 6500 Pflanzenarten.
Vom Mount Wellington bietet sich Ihnen ein spektakulärer Blick auf die Stadt und den Fluss.
Hobart ist auch als “die Stadt mit der reinsten Luft der Welt” bekannt, ich weiß jedoch nicht, ob es hierfür wissenschaftliche Beweise gibt.
Einer der angesagtesten Orte der Stadt ist der Salamanca Place, in dem sich viele Bars, Restaurants, Geschäfte und Antiquitätenläden befinden. Dort gibt es auch den Salamanca Markt mit einer breiten Palette von Produkten.
Auch ein Besuch im schönen Royal Theater lohnt sich.
Für diejenigen, die am Thema „Strafkolonie“ interessiert sind, empfehle ich den Besuch des Hobart Convict Penitentiary, wo Sie an der Besichtigung dieses ehemaligen Gefängnisses teilnehmen können. Von 1860 bis 1983 existierten in diesem Gebäude zwei Strafgerichte. Während des Besuchs kann man Zellen, die Gerichte und eine kleine Kapelle begutachten.
Eine weitere interessante Option ist die Bootsfahrt auf dem Derwent River.
Für diejenigen, die Hobarts Geschichte näher kennenlernen möchten, empfehle ich einen Besuch im Mawsons´Huts Replica Museum, wo Sie mehr über die Lebensbedingungen in Australien in der Vergangenheit erfahren können. Weitere interessante Museen: Tasmanisches Museum und Kunstgalerie sowie Museum für Antike und Neue Kunst (MONA).
Ein Spaziergang durch das Hafenviertel von Battery Point lohnt sich, um die wunderschöne Architektur der Gebäude sowie die aufgestellten Skulpturen zu bewundern.
Folgende Touren können von Hobart aus unternommen werden:
– Der Besuch des Bonorang-Sanctuary, in dem kranke Tiere wie in einem “Waisenhaus” leben. Sie können dort Tiere wie Kängurus, “Tasmanische Teufel”, Koalas, u.a. antreffen;
– Lernen Sie Richmond kennen, eine kleine Stadt, die im frühen 19. Jahrhundert mit Gebäuden im georgianischen Stil und Australiens ältester katholischer Kirche gegründet wurde.
– Machen Sie einen Spaziergang im Mount Field National Park und sehen Sie die Russel-Wasserfälle.
– Tauchen Sie ein in die Geschichte und besuchen Sie Port Arthur, ein ehemaliges Gefängnis aus der Kolonialzeit, in dem einst 12.000 Gefangene lebten; es ist in der UNESCO-Liste der Kulturgüter und 95 km vom Zentrum Hobarts entfernt.
– Ein weiterer interessanter Besuch ist das Apple Museum, Huon Valley Apple Shed, wo Sie viele Informationen und Kuriositäten über den Apfelanbau erhalten.
– Besuchen Sie Weingüter, in denen Sauvignon Blanc-, Chardonnay- und Pinot Noir-Weine hergestellt werden.
– Brunny Island ist ein Vorschlag für einen Tagesausflug. Dort können Sie die schöne Aussicht auf den Brunny National Park mit Adventure Bay und Jetty Beach genießen. Diese Insel ist auch berühmt für ihre Süßigkeiten.

Tasmania is an Australian island with 220,000 inhabitants with a high standard of living. The capital is Hobart, a charming town with an elegant harbor with bars, restaurants and shops. It lies between Mount Wellington and the mouth of the Derwent River.
Hobart is Australia’s second oldest city and has served as a penal colony in its history.
Erich and I visited Hobart in the summer, which is advisable if you are planning a trip to Australia.
Hobart is a city of many events and one of them is the arrival of the annual Sydney Hobart Regatta, a famous event in the Oceania region with its strong maritime traditions.
One of Hobart’s postcard views is the Tasmanian Bridge.
Another attraction of the city is the Cathedral of St. David, a neo-gothic building from the 19th century.
Also worth seeing are the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens with 6500 plant species.
Mount Wellington offers spectacular views of the city and river.
Hobart is also known as “the city with the purest air in the world”, but I do not know if there is scientific evidence for it.
One of the hottest places in the city is Salamanca Place, which has many bars, restaurants, shops and antique shops. There is also the Salamanca market with a wide range of products.
A visit to the beautiful Royal Theater is also worthwhile.
For those interested in the “Penal Colony”, I recommend visiting the Hobart Convict Penitentiary, where you can attend a visit to this former prison. From 1860 to 1983 two criminal courts existed in this building. During the visit you can see cells, the courts and a small chapel.
Another interesting option is the boat trip on the Derwent River.
