Sabará, pequena jóia mineira

Sabará é uma cidade histórica localizada no estado de Minas Gerais, no Brasil. Fundada no século XVII, Sabará é caracterizada por sua arquitetura colonial bem preservada e rica história. O centro histórico de Sabará é um destino turístico popular, com ruas de paralelepípedos, igrejas impressionantes e edifícios históricos.

“O centro histórico de Sabará, em Minas Gerais, foi tombado pelo Iphan, em 1938, e a Rua Direita (Rua Dom Pedro II) uma das mais importantes áreas do conjunto arquitetônico e urbanístico, tombada em 1965. Implantada no início do século XVIII, a antiga Rua Direita, constituía a principal via do primitivo núcleo da Barra, onde funcionava a sede da Vila do Sabará. Seu conjunto, pelo expressivo número de edificações remanescentes do período colonial, é considerado o mais significativo do acervo arquitetônico da cidade” (Texto retirado do site do IPHAN).

Sabará foi o primeiro povoamento do estado de Minas Gerais e surgiu como consequência da busca do bandeirante Fernão Dias Paes e Borba Gato, seu genro, que procuravam esmeraldas e outras preciosidades. A cidade desempenhou papel importante como ponto estratégico e comercial conectado diretamente à Estrada Real.

Passeamos durante uma manhã em Sabará e além de visitar o seu bem preservado Centro Histórico, tivemos a oportunidade de conhecer algumas de suas Igrejas, como a Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, que possui várias obras do Aleijadinho e a Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, com uma fachada simples e um interior espetacular! Também visitamos a Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Ó. Outro monumento que merece ser visitado é o Teatro Municipal localizado na Rua Direita. Vale a pena destacar outros monumentos que valem a pena serem visitados:Igreja de Santana (Capela de Santana);Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Mercês; Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário (Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos da Barra); Igreja de São Francisco de Assis;Capela de Santo Antônio (Capela de Santo Antônio do Pompeu); Casa Borba Gato (atual Centro de Memória do Museu do Ouro – no dia da nossa visita estava fechada para obras) – Paço Municipal (Casa à rua Dom Pedro II, Solar Jacinto Dias e Solar do Padre Correia) – Sede da Prefeitura Municipal de Sabará; Passo do Carmo (Passo de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, Passo do Calvário);Casa Azul (Casa à Rua Dom Pedro II, 215);Casa da Intendência (Real Intendência do Ouro);Chafariz do Caquende; Chafariz do Rosário; Hospício da Terra Santa e Capela de Nossa Senhora do Pilar (Hospício de Jerusalém e Igreja do Pilar).

Sabará está localizada a 23 km de Belo Horizonte. Visitamos a cidade de taxi. Fizemos um acordo com um taxista que nos cobrou R$ 250,00 (duzentos e cinquente reais – valor cobrado em setembro/2023). Ele nos levou, esperou que nós visitássemos o centro histórico, nos levou à Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Ó (que é um pouco afastada do centro) e nos levou de volta ao hotel em Belo Horizonte localizado no bairro Savassi.

Gegründet Anfang Im 18. Jahrhundert bildete die alte Rua Direita die Hauptstraße im ursprünglichen Kern von Barra, wo sich der Hauptsitz von Vila do Sabará befand. Sabará war die erste Siedlung im Bundesstaat Minas Gerais und entstand als Ergebnis der Suche nach dem Bandeiranten Fernão Dias Paes und Borba Gato, seinem Schwiegersohn, die nach Smaragden und anderen Kostbarkeiten suchten. Die Stadt spielte eine wichtige Rolle als strategischer und kommerzieller Punkt, der direkt mit der Estrada Real verbunden war.

Wir gingen einen Morgen lang in Sabará spazieren und hatten nicht nur die Möglichkeit, das gut erhaltene historische Zentrum zu besichtigen, sondern auch einige seiner Kirchen zu besichtigen, beispielsweise die Kirche Nossa Senhora do Carmo, in der sich mehrere Werke von Aleijadinho und der Matriz de befinden Nossa Senhora da Conceição, mit einer einfachen Fassade und einem spektakulären Innenraum! Wir besuchten auch die Kirche Nossa Senhora do Ó. Ein weiteres sehenswertes Denkmal ist das Stadttheater in der Rua Direita. Es lohnt sich, andere Denkmäler hervorzuheben, die einen Besuch wert sind: Santana-Kirche (Capela de Santana); Kirche Nossa Senhora das Mercês; Kirche Nossa Senhora do Rosário (Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos da Barra); Kirche von São Francisco de Assis; Kapelle von Santo Antônio (Kapelle von Santo Antônio do Pompeu); Casa Borba Gato (aktuelles Erinnerungszentrum des Goldmuseums – am Tag unseres Besuchs war es wegen Arbeiten geschlossen) – Stadtpalast (Haus in der Rua Dom Pedro II, Solar Jacinto Dias und Solar do Padre Correia) – Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung von Sabará; Passo do Carmo (Passo de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, Passo do Calvário);Casa Azul (Haus in der Rua Dom Pedro II, 215);Casa da Intendência (Real Intendência do Ouro);Chafariz do Caquende; Brunnen von Rosário; Hospiz des Heiligen Landes und Kapelle Unserer Lieben Frau von Pilar (Hospiz von Jerusalem und Kirche von Pilar).

Sabará was the first settlement in the state of Minas Gerais and emerged as a result of the search for the bandeirante Fernão Dias Paes and Borba Gato, his son-in-law, who were looking for emeralds and other precious things. The city played an important role as a strategic and commercial point directly connected to Estrada Real.

We walked for a morning in Sabará and in addition to visiting its well-preserved Historic Center, we had the opportunity to visit some of its churches, such as the Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, which has several works by Aleijadinho and the Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição , with a simple facade and a spectacular interior! Its location on the banks of the Rio das Velhas provides Sabará with a picturesque setting and offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and water sports. The surrounding nature is characterized by lush vegetation.

Sabará is located 23 km from Belo Horizonte. We visited the city by taxi. We made an agreement with a taxi driver who charged us R$250.00 (two hundred and fifty reais – amount charged in September/2023). He took us, waited for us to visit the historic center, took us to the Church of Nossa Senhora do Ó (which is a little far from the center) and took us back to the hotel in Belo Horizonte located in the Savassi neighborhood.

A região do Douro, também conhecida como Vale do Douro, é uma impressionante região vinícola no norte de Portugal. Estende-se ao longo do rio Douro e é caracterizada pela sua paisagem deslumbrante, rica tradição vitivinícola e vinhas históricas.

O Vale do Douro é famoso pelas suas vinhas em socalcos íngremes, que foram tradicionalmente projetados para cultivar uvas para a produção do vinho do Porto. A região também é renomada pelos seus vinhos tintos, feitos a partir de variedades de uvas locais como Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz e Touriga Franca. A produção de vinho na região do Douro combina técnicas de ponta com experiência centenária, refletindo as condições climáticas e solos únicos da área.

Além das vinhas, o Vale do Douro também oferece aldeias pitorescas, quintas históricas e uma variedade de atividades para entusiastas do vinho e turistas.

Saímos de Porto as 9 horas da manhã e inicialmente visitamos o Mirante do Ujo, um dos muitos mirantes (ou miradouros) localizados na Concelho de Alijó, na região do Alto Douro Vinhateiro. Desse ponto se avista o vale e a represa do rio Tua. Desse lugar, seguimos com o propósito de realizar o passeio de barco que parte do Pinhão. Aliás, um lindo passeio pelo Rio Douro onde se aprecia os vinhedos e a paisagem repousante. Após esse passeio fomos almoçar no Restaurante Terraçu´s com vista deslumbrante para o Vale do Douro.

Wir verließen Porto um 9 Uhr morgens und besuchten zunächst den Mirante do Ujo, einen der vielen Aussichtspunkte in der Gemeinde Alijó in der Region Alto Douro Vinhateiro. Von hier aus können Sie das Tal und den Staudamm des Tua-Flusses sehen. Von hier aus machten wir eine Bootsfahrt, Ausgangspunkt Pinhão. Eine wunderschöne Spazierfahrt auf dem Fluss Douro, bei dem Sie die Weinberge und die erholsame Landschaft genießen können. Nach dieser Tour genossen wir ein Mittagessen in Terraçu’s Restaurant mit atemberaubendem Blick auf das Douro-Tal.

Douro region – paradise for wine lovers

We left Porto at 9 AM and first visited the Mirante do Ujo, one of the many viewpoints in the municipality of Alijó in the Alto Douro Vinhateiro region. From here you can see the valley and dam of the Tua River. From there we took a boat trip, starting point Pinhão. A beautiful cruise on the Douro River enjoying the vineyards and relaxing countryside. After this tour we enjoyed lunch at Terraçu’s Restaurant with breathtaking views of the Douro Valley.

Há alguns dias tivemos o prazer de receber alguns amigos em casa.

Ambos os casais haviam visitado o Egito recentemente, eu estive lá várias vezes a negócios há muito tempo em meados dos anos 1980 e Marcia e eu estamos planejando uma viagem para março de 2024 que nos levará a Israel, Egito e também à Jordânia.

Assim, a troca de experiências sobre o Egito e viagens afins foi o foco desta tarde muito divertida.

Razão suficiente para eu procurar no meu arquivo de fotos (então ainda em formato de slides) impressões de fotos do meu tempo no Egito para poder compartilhá-las com você neste blog.

Vor einigen Tagen hatten wir das Vergnügen, zuhause ein paar Freunde willkommen zu heißen.

Beide Paare hatten kürzlich Ägypten besucht, ich war schon vor langer Zeit Mitte der 1980er Jahre beruflich mehrmals dort unterwegs und für März 2024 planen Marcia und ich eine Reise, welche uns nach Israel, Ägyptern und auch Jordanien führen soll.

Folglich stand der Erfahrungsaustausch über Ägypten und ähnliche Reisen im Mittelpunkt dieses sehr unterhaltsamen Nachmittages.

Grund genug für mich in meinem Fotoarchiv (damals noch Dia-Format) nach Foto-Impressionen aus meiner Ägyptenzeit zu suchen, um diese mit Ihnen in diesem Blog teilen zu können.

A few days ago we had the pleasure of welcoming some friends home.

Both couples had recently visited Egypt, I had been there several times on business long ago in the mid 1980s and Marcia and I are planning a trip for March 2024 that will take us to Israel, Egypt and also Jordan.

Consequently, the exchange of experiences about Egypt and similar trips was the focus of this very entertaining afternoon.

COLÔNIA DO RENO

Colônia foi uma das paradas na viagem de cruzeiro que realizamos entre Amsterdã, na Holanda à Basiléia, na Suíça. Passamos uma tarde maravilhosa em Colônia que sempre merece uma visita. O dia ensolarado e o ótimo ambiente da cidade formaram o cenário ideal para poder aproveitar ao máximo meu aniversário.

Existem muitos pontos turísticos e atrações interessantes em Colônia. Aqui estão os 10 melhores atrativos (de acordo com nossa visão) para ver em Colônia:

KÖLN AM RHEIN

Köln war einer der Stopps auf unserer Flusskreuzfahrt von Amsterdam nach Basel. Wir verbrachten hier einen wunderschönen Nachmittag, Köln ist immer wieder einen Besuch wert und der sonnige Tag und die tolle Atmosphäre in der Stadt formten den idealen Rahmen, um meinen Geburtstag vollauf genießen zu können.

Cologne was one of the stops on our river cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We spent a wonderful afternoon here, Cologne is always worth a visit and the sunny day and the great atmosphere in the city formed the ideal setting to be able to fully enjoy my birthday.

O Deserto do Atacama é uma região única com uma rica história e cultura. Aqui estão alguns dos pontos imperdíveis no deserto:

Valle de la Luna: Este vale leva o nome de sua paisagem lunar, que lembra a superfície da lua. É um destino turístico popular e oferece vistas deslumbrantes sobre as montanhas circundantes e o deserto.
Salar de Atacama: O lago de sal é o maior do Chile e oferece uma paisagem fascinante de formações de sal e uma infinidade de flamingos que vivem nas águas rasas do lago.
Gêiseres do Tatio: Localizados perto de San Pedro de Atacama, esses impressionantes gêiseres são um fenômeno natural inspirador de se vivenciar.

Salar de Atacama: The salt lake is the largest in Chile and offers a fascinating landscape of salt formations and a multitude of flamingos that live in the shallow waters of the lake.
Tatio Geysers: Located near San Pedro de Atacama, these impressive geysers are an awe-inspiring natural phenomenon to experience.
El Tatio: The highest geyser in the world is located in the desert and offers a spectacular spectacle when the hot springs shoot up from the ground.
Piedras Rojas: Located near Salar de Atacama, these stunning red rocks offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and desert.
El Valle de la Muerte: This valley offers a landscape reminiscent of the Wild West and is known for its sand dunes and cliffs.
Laguna Cejar: This saltwater lagoon offers a unique bathing experience as you float in the salty water, similar to the Dead Sea.
Catarpe: This valley offers incredible scenery with red rocks and an abundance of cacti and plants.

The sudden onset of snowfall when we visited in 2014 meant that we were unable to visit all of the above sites, but experiencing the desert with snow was an awe-inspiring unique experience.
