Olhos Indígenas é uma reserva ecológica situada próximo ao Punta Cana Club & Resort. Os ônibus que circulam nos hotéis levam os hóspedes até lá e o acesso é livre para quem apresenta a pulseira de hóspede.

A Reserva Ecológica Olhos Indígenas é a única área de floresta, privada, existente em Punta Cana.

A reserva tem uma área de uma área de 1500 acres doada pelo Grupo Punta Cana a Fundação Punta Cana com o objetivo de preservar, além de servir de local para recreação e pesquisa científica.

Os Tainos, habitantes da ilha antes de seu descobrimento, se referiam às lagoas como “olhos”, daí a origem do nome da reserva.

Essa área ambiental possui 12 lagoas de água doce e transparente, sendo que é possível banhar-se em três delas.

Essas lagoas estão interligadas através do rio subterrâneo Yauya, que desemboca no mar, em frente a reserva. A precipitação anual em Punta Cana alcança 1300 mm, porém, devido à alta porosidade do solo, as águas das chuvas se infiltram com grande facilidade no solo, fazendo com que não existam rios com águas superficiais na região.

A vegetação da Reserva Ecológica Olhos Indígenas é do tipo floresta subtropical de transição devido a existência de fauna e flora características de regiões úmidas e secas.

Dentro da reserva se encontra 500 espécies vegetais, sendo que 36% dessas plantas são endêmicas, ou seja, somente existe na República Dominicana.

O lugar é propriedade privada e possui trilhas

que conduzem o visitante para conhecer pequenos lagos, alguns povoados por jabutis, peixes diversos, dentre outros.

Durante o passeio é possível conhecer também as espécies vegetais da região.

Erich e eu percorremos uma trilha de 3 km onde escutamos a vocalização de muitos pássaros e também escutamos o som de muitos insetos.

Durante o passeio você pode também visitar uma praia de águas azuis transparentes.

É definitivamente uma opção para quem está em um dos resorts de Punta Cana e aprecia a natureza.

ÖKOLOGISCHES RESERVAT „OLHOS INDÍGENAS” IN PUNTA CANA

„OLHOS INDÍGENAS” (Indigene Augen) ist ein ökologisches Reservat in der Nähe des Punta Cana Club & Resort. Die Busse, welche die Hotels Im Resort verbinden, bringen die Gäste dorthin und der Zugang ist kostenlos für diejenigen, die das Hotel-Gast-Band präsentieren.

Das „OLHOS INDÍGENAS” Reservat   ist das einzige private Waldgebiet in Punta Cana.

Das Reservat verfügt über eine Fläche von 1.500 Hektar, welche von der Gruppe Punta Cana an die Stiftung Punta Cana gespendet wurde mit dem Ziel sowohl als Erholungsgebiet als auch als wissenschaftliche Einrichtung zu dienen.

Die Tainos, die Bewohner der Insel vor ihrer Entdeckung, bezeichneten die Lagunen als “Augen”, daher der Name des Reservates.

Dieser Umweltschutzbereich offeriert 12 kleine Lagunen mit frischem und transparentem Wasser, und es ist möglich, sogar in drei von ihnen ein Bad zu nehmen.

Diese Lagunen sind durch den unterirdischen Fluss Yauya verbunden, der vor dem Reservat ins Meer mündet.

Der jährliche Niederschlag in Punta Cana erreicht 1.300 mm, aber aufgrund der hohen Porosität des Bodens infiltriert das Regenwasser mit großer Leichtigkeit in den Boden, sodaβ es keine Flüsse/Bäche mit oberflächlichen Gewässern in der Region gibt.

Die Vegetation des Reservats ist aufgrund ihrer Flora und Fauna, die für feuchte und trockene Regionen charakteristisch sind, dem subtropischen Übergangstyp zuzurechnen.

Innerhalb des Reservats gibt es 500 Pflanzenarten, von denen 36% endemisch sind, d.h. sie existieren nur hier in der Dominikanischen Republik.

Das Reservat ist in Privatbesitz mit Wegen,

die den Besucher zu kleinen Seen führen, von denen einige von Schildkröten, verschiedenen Fischen usw. bewohnt werden.

Während der Tour kann man auch die verschiedensten Pflanzenarten der Region kennenlernen.

Erich und ich absolvierten einen 3 km schweiβtreibenden langen Trail, auf welchem wir neben den schönen Anblicken der kleinen Lagunen das musikalische Konzert vieler Vögel und Insekten hören und genieβen durften.

Am Ende der Tour können Sie noch an einem wunderschönen Strand mit kristallklarem Wasser ein willkommenes und erfrischendes Bad nehmen.

Das Reservat ist definitiv eine Option für jeden, der sich im   Punta Cana Resort aufhält und die Natur genießen möchte.

“OLHOS INDÍGENAS” (Indigenous Eyes) is an ecological reserve near the Punta Cana Club & Resort. The buses connecting the hotels in the resort take guests there and the access is free for those presenting the hotel-guest band.

The reserve has an area of 1,500 hectares, which was donated by the Punta Cana Group to the Punta Cana Foundation with the aim of serving both as a recreational area and as a scientific facility.

The Tainos, the inhabitants of the island before their discovery, called the lagoons “eyes”, hence the name of the reserve.

This environmental protection area offers 12 small lagoons/lakes with fresh and transparent water, and it is possible to take a bath even in three of them.

These lagoons are connected by the subterranean Yauya River, which flows into the sea in front of the reserve.

The annual rainfall in Punta Cana reaches 1,300 mm, but due to the high porosity of the soil the rainwater infiltrates into the soil with great ease, so that there are no rivers / creeks with superficial waters in the area.

The vegetation of the reserve is due to its flora and fauna, which are characteristic of damp and dry regions, the subtropical transition type.

Within the reserve there are 500 plant species, of which 36% are endemic, they only exist here in the Dominican Republic.

The reserve is privately owned with trails

that lead visitors to small lakes, some of which are inhabited by turtles, various fish, etc.

During the tour you can also get to know the most diverse plant species of the region.

Erich and I completed a 3 km long and sweaty trail on which we could hear and enjoy the musical concert of many birds and insects in addition to the beautiful views of the small lagoons.

At the end of the tour you can still take a very welcome and refreshing bath on a beautiful beach with crystal clear water.

The reserve is definitely an option for anyone who wants to stay at Punta Cana Resort and enjoying nature.
