São Miguel das Missões, testemunho da obra jesuítica no Brasil

Assisti ao filme “A Missão” em 1986 e lembro bem que, além de me encantar com a fantástica trilha sonora de Ennio Morricone , a temática do filme chamou minha atenção. A película trata sobre os conflitos entre os jesuítas, as Coroas Ibéricas com o Vaticano e que apresenta um pouco sobre a obra que os jesuítas realizaram, junto aos índios guaranis, na região conhecida como os “Sete Povos das Missões”, localizados no Brasil e Argentina. Foi a primeira vez que vi as Ruínas de São Miguel das Missões.

Quando Erich e eu selecionamos os lugares que integram nosso livro 66 x Brasil, lembro que fiz questão de visitar um dos locais das antigas missões para captar imagens para a mencionada publicação. Assim, alugamos um carro e fomos a São Miguel das Missões, localizada a noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul, distante 524 km de Porto Alegre.

As Ruínas de São Miguel Arcanjo Sítio Arqueológico, juntamente com as de San Ignacio Miní, Santa Ana, Nuestra Señhora de Loreto e Santa María la Mayor, na Argentina são tombadas pela UNESCO como as Missões Jesuíticas Guaranis desde 1983. A nossa chegada à São Miguel ocorreu já no final do dia e logo descobrimos que a pousada onde ficamos hospedados, estava localizada a uns 300 metros das ruínas da antiga igreja, assim, quando chegamos, já passamos em frente a elas e vimos como as ruínas são imponentes e grandiosas.

Na mesma noite, fomos assistir ao espetáculo Som e Luz que acontece em frente as ruínas da igreja diariamente, dependendo do dia da semana, o espetáculo é apresentado em inglês ou espanhol ou português. A noite estava muito fria e pudemos ver claramente o teto de estrelas sob nossas cabeças, magnífico. O show é muito bonito, eu diria que é emocionante.

No dia seguinte visitamos as ruínas com a luz do dia e também lá, visitamos o interessante Museu das Missões.

Ich habe den Film „The Mission“ im Jahr 1986 gesehen und ich erinnere mich gut, dass ich von dem Thema des Films beeindruckt war. Es geht um die Konflikte zwischen den Jesuiten, der spanischen Krone und dem Vatikan und präsentiert auch ein wenig die Arbeit, die die Jesuiten zusammen mit den Guarani-Indianern in der in Brasilien und Argentinien gelegenen Region, die als die „Sieben Völker der Missionen“ bekannt ist, realisiert haben. Es war das erste Mal, daβ ich die Ruinen von San Miguel Mission sah, unvergesslich auch die Filmmusik von Ennio Morricone.

Als Erich und ich die Orte auswählten, die Bestandteil unseres Buches 66 x Brasilien werden sollten, trafen wir die Entscheidung, einen dieser Standorte der alten Missionen zu integrieren. Also mieteten wir in Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul ein Auto und fuhren zum 524 km entfernten und im Nordwesten gelegenen São Miguel das Missões.

Die Ruinen von São Miguel Arcanjo Sítio Arqueológico zusammen mit denen von San Ignacio Miní, Santa Ana, Nuestra Señhora de Loreto und Santa María la Mayor in Argentinien sind seit 1983 UNESCO Weltkulturerbe zusammengefasst unter dem Namen Missões Jesuíticas Guaranis.

Bei unserer Ankunft in São Miguel am Ende des Tages erkannten wir, daβ unser Hotel nur etwa 300 Meter von den Ruinen der alten Kirche gelegen war, ein imposanter und grandioser Anblick.

Noch am gleichen Abend genossen wir die Licht & Ton Show, die täglich vor den Ruinen der Kirche je nach Wochentag in Englisch, Spanisch oder Portugiesisch präsentiert wirdDie Nacht war sehr kalt und wir konnten deutlich den Sternenhimmel über uns erkennen. Die Show ist sehr schön und spannend.

Am nächsten Tag besuchten wir die Ruinen und das dazugehörige Museum bei Tageslicht.

Wenn Sie mich fragen, ob es das wert war, mehr als fünfhundert Kilometer zu fahren, um diesen Ort zu besuchen, dann antworte ich Ihnen mit einem klaren JA, vorausgesetzt Sie gehören zu den Menschen, die Kulturgüter zu schätzen wissen und diesen Teil der Geschichte Brasiliens kennenlernen wollen!

Aber denken Sie daran, in der kalten Jahreszeit warme Kleidung mitzubringen, Sie werden diese benötigen, wenn Sie die Show sehen und geniessen wollen. Gute Reise!

I have seen the movie “The Mission” in 1986 and I remember well that I was impressed by the theme of the movie. It is about the conflicts between the Jesuits, the Spanish Crown and the Vatican. It presents also the work that the Jesuits together with the Guarani Indians realized in the region of Brazil and Argentina, known as the “Seven Peoples of Missions”. It was the first time I saw the ruins of San Miguel Mission, unforgettable also the film music of Ennio Morricone.

When Erich and I chose the places that were to be part of our book 66 x Brazil, we made the decision to integrate one of these sites of the old missions. So we hired a car at Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul and drove to São Miguel das Missões, located 524 km away in the north-west.

The ruins of São Miguel Arcanjo Sítio Arqueológico together with those of San Ignacio Miní, Santa Ana, Nuestra Señhora de Loreto and Santa María la Mayor in Argentina have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 under the name Missões Jesuíticas Guaranis.

On our arrival in São Miguel at the end of the day, we realized that our hotel was only about 300 meters from the ruins of the old church, an imposing and grandiose sight.

On the same evening, we enjoyed the Sound & Light Show, which is presented daily in front of the ruins of the church in English, Spanish or Portuguese depending on the day of the week. The night was very cold and we could clearly see the stars above us. The show is very nice and exciting.

The next day we visited the ruins and the museum in daylight.

If you ask me if it was worth to drive more than five hundred kilometers to visit this place, I will answer you with a clear YES, provided you belong to the people who appreciate cultural treasures and you want to know more about this part of the history of Brazil!

But remember to bring warm clothing in the cold season, you will need it if you want to see and enjoy the show at night.

CIDADE DO CABO, UM LUGAR DE CHARME

A África é um imenso continente, de povoamento humano mais antigo que se tem notícias, constituída por 54 países, composta por uma população de mais um bilhão de habitantes de diversas etnias e que falam diferentes línguas. O continente africano foi berço de diversas civilizações e eu era louca para colocar meus pés nessa parte do mundo.

Quando a gente pensa sobre a África, logo vem à mente safari, animais selvagens, subdesenvolvimento econômico e social, pelo menos comigo era assim, antes de conhecer a Cidade do Cabo, linda e sofisticada.

Voamos para a África do Sul em um voo direto de São Paulo até Johannesburgo (cerca de 9 horas) e de lá, tomamos outro voo (em torno de duas horas) até a Cidade do Cabo.

A cidade do Cabo está localizada numa península no extremo sul do continente e quando você a visita, é possível se sentir claramente as influências britânica e holandesa misturadas com o sabor africano.

A cidade é o ponto turístico mais importante da África do Sul, além de ser o quarto maior centro urbano do país e está assentada aos pés da Table Moutain (Montanha da Mesa), seu marco mais famoso.

Por que considero a Cidade do Cabo deslumbrante? Devido a sua implantação entre cadeias de montanhas e o Oceano Atlântico.

O que tem para fazer por lá? Chegamos de manhã e não fomos mais dormir. Quando chego em um lugar novo, estou sempre tão ansiosa que nem sinto cansaço, deixo para dormir somente à noite para já ir me acostumando com a hora local. Assim, depois de guardarmos a bagagem, fomos ao Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a área do cais, projeto bem-sucedido, que enriqueceu essa parte da cidade.Na realidade trata-se de um grande shopping, com lojas de grife, salões de beleza, muitas opções de restaurantes e bares, hotéis de luxo, anfiteatro e é também de onde partem diversos passeios de barco, entre os quais, o para Ilha de Robben, onde Nelson Mandela passou uma parte de sua vida, preso.

É também no Waterfront onde está localizado o Aquário dos Dois Oceanos (Two Oceans Aquarium).

A cidade do Cabo possui um centro compacto e vale a pena fazer uma caminhada para apreciá-lo com tranquilidade. Uma das ruas com construções históricas vitorianas conservadas é a Long Street. Há monumentos históricos bem preservados como a Antiga Prefeitura, o Castelo da Boa Esperança, além da praça do mercado conhecida como Greenmarket Square, onde está localizada a mencionada prefeitura.

Há também museus e galerias de arte para quem quer conhecer um pouco da arte produzida por lá. Gostei muito de uma área chamada Gardens, trata-se de uma área verde, tranquila, com um restaurante. Em torno dessa área estão localizadas a Biblioteca Nacional, o gabinete do Presidente do país, a Catedral de São George, o museu Sul Africano e Planetário, a Government Avenue, dentre outros edifícios interessantes.

Um passeio que todos que visitam a Cidade do Cabo devem fazer é visitar a Table Moutain, de onde pode se apreciar uma vista deslumbrante do lugar.

Você pode subir de bondinho ou caminhar nas diversas trilhas bem sinalizadas. Visitamos a Cidade do Cabo em setembro, nessa época, a Table Moutain fica encoberta por nuvens durante à tarde, por isso, se programe para visita-la pela manhã.

Para conhecer a cidade de forma confortável, também participamos de um city tour que percorreu as áreas mais afastadas da cidade, como a conhecida Cape Riviera, onde estão localizados os endereços mais procurados e caros, com bela vistas, Llandudno, Clifton e Bantry Bay. O passeio pela via litorânea continua até a Hout Bay, onde avistamos as Montanhas dos Doze Apóstolos. A Cidade do Cabo tem realmente cenários deslumbrantes.

No caminho paramos na praia chamada Boulders (distante 30 km da cidade) onde há uma colônia de pinguins, eles estão lá durante todo o ano! No percurso, eu avistei uma baleia, foi a primeira vez que vi esse animal tão fascinante!

Enfim, posso dizer que a Cidade do Cabo é realmente uma ótima opção para começar sua viagem pela África do Sul. De lá, você viajar para outros destinos, como por exemplo percorrer a Rota do Jardim, percurso pontilhado por belas praias, lagoas, montanhas, florestas ou quem sabe visitar o Parque Kruger, pode também visitar as vinícolas…

KAPSTADT, EIN BEZAUBERNDER ORT

Afrika ist ein riesiger Kontinent mit der ältesten menschlichen Ansiedlung überhaupt bestehend aus 54 Ländern mit einer Bevölkerung von mehr als einer Milliarde Menschen unterschiedlichster ethnischer Herkunft und verschiedenste Sprachen sprechend.

Der afrikanische Kontinent war die Wiege verschiedener Zivilisationen und ich war begierig danach mit meinen Füßen diesen Teil der Welt zu betreten.

Wenn wir an Afrika denken, kommen uns sofort Gedanken wie wirtschaftliche und soziale Unterentwicklung oder Safari in den Sinn, zumindest für mich war es so bevor ich in Kapstadt eintraf, schön und anspruchsvoll.

Wir flogen mit einem Direktflug von São Paulo nach Johannesburg in Südafrika (ca. 9 Stunden) und von dort gleich weiter (etwa zwei Stunden) nach Kapstadt.

Kapstadt liegt auf einer Halbinsel im Süden des Kontinents und wenn Sie es besuchen können Sie deutlich den Mix von britischen und niederländischen Einflüssen mit afrikanischen verspüren.

Die Stadt ist der wichtigste Ort für Touristen in Südafrika, und ist die viertgrößte Stadt des Landes am Fuße des Tafelberges gelegen, dem Wahrzeichen.

Diese Lage Kapstadts zwischen Gebirge und dem Atlantischen Ozean ist wirklich einzigartig.

Wir kamen am Morgen an und wie immer machten wir uns sofort daran, diesen neuen Ort zu erkunden, um uns erste Eindrücke zu verschaffen und um uns so schnell als möglich an die lokale Uhrzeit und das Klima zu gewöhnen.

Also machten wir uns nach dem Check-In im Hotel zu Fuβ auf den Weg zur Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, ein erfolgreiches Projekt der Piersanierung, eine wirkliche Bereicherung für die Stadt mit guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, mit Designerläden, Schönheitssalons, vielen Restaurants und Bars, Luxushotels, einem Amphitheater. Auch Bootsfahrten können unternommen werden einschließlich dem Besuch der Insel Robben, wo Nelson Mandela einen Teil seines Lebens im Gefängnis verbrachte.

Es ist auch hier an der Waterfront, wo sich das lohnenswerte Two Oceans Aquarium (Aquarium der zwei Ozeane) befindet.

Kapstadt verfügt über ein kompaktes Zentrum und es lohnen sich, Spaziergänge in Frieden zu genießen.

Eine der Straßen mit erhaltenen viktorianischen historischen Gebäuden ist die Long Street. Es gibt historische Denkmäler wie das Alte Rathaus, das Castle of Good Hope neben dem Marktplatz auch als Greenmarket Square bekannt.

Mir gefiel ein Viertel „Gardens“ genannt, ruhig, mit einer Grünfläche und einem Restaurant. Um diesen Bereich gruppieren sich die Nationalbibliothek, das Präsidentenamt, die Sankt-Georgs-Kathedrale, das Südafrika-Planetarium und -Museum, die Government Avenue und andere interessante Gebäude.

Ein Muβ für jeden Kapstadtbesuch ist ein Ausflug auf den Tafelberg mit atemberaubenden Aussichten.

Sie können hierzu die Seilbahn nutzen oder auch auf gut markierten Wegen hinaufwandern. Wir besuchten Kapstadt im September wo dann im Laufe des Nachmittags der Tafelberg in Wolken gehüllt war, also diesen Ausflug für einen Vormittag planen.

Mit einer Stadtrundfahrt lässt sich die Stadt am besten erkunden, auch die eher entlegenen Gegenden wie das bekannte Cape Riviera mit den begehrtesten und teuersten Adressen mit schöner Aussicht, Llandudno, Clifton und Bantry Bay.

Die Spazierfahrt entlang der Küstenstraße führt weiter nach Hout Bay, wo wir die Berge der Zwölf Apostel sahen. Kapstadt offeriert wirklich beeindruckende Landschaften.

Es gibt verschiedene Touren, die Sie von Kapstadt aus machen können. Wir machten die Tour der Kap-Halbinsel entlang schöner Strände bis zum Kap der Guten Hoffnung (früher auch Kap der Stürme genannt), 72 km von Kapstadt entfernt.

Auf dem Weg dorthin besuchten wir am Boulders Strand (30 km von der Stadt entfernt) eine Kolonie von Pinguinen, sie sind das ganze Jahr hier!

Auf dem Weg habe ich auch einen Wal gesichtet, es war das erste Mal, dass ich dieses Tier sah, sehr faszinierend!

Ich kann wirklich sagen, dass Kapstadt ein großartiger Ort ist, um eine Reise nach Südafrika zu beginnen. Von dort aus können Sie dann zu anderen Zielen weiterreisen wie z.B. der Garden Route mit wunderschönen Stränden, Lagunen, Bergen und Wäldern oder vielleicht auch zum Krüger Nationalpark, berühmten Weingütern…usw. usw.

CAPE TOWN, A CHARMING PLACE

Africa is a giant continent with the oldest human settlement ever consisting of 54 countries with a population of more than a billion people of diverse ethnic origin and diverse languages.

The African continent was the cradle of different civilizations and I was eager to enter this part of the world with my feet.

When we think of Africa, we immediately get to mind such as economic and social underdevelopment or safari, at least for me it was so before I arrived in Cape Town, beautiful and ambitious.

We flew with a direct flight from São Paulo to Johannesburg in South Africa (about 9 hours) and from there onwards (about two hours) to Cape Town.

Cape Town is located on a peninsula in the south of the continent and when you visit it you can clearly feel the mix of British and Dutch influences with African ones.

The city is the most important place for tourists in South Africa and is the fourth largest city in the country at the foot of Table Mountain, the landmark.

This location of Cape Town between mountains and the Atlantic Ocean is truly unique.

We arrived in the morning and, as always, we immediately went to explore this new place, to give us first impressions and to get used to the local time and the climate as quickly as possible.

So after the check-in in our hotel we went to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a successful project of piers renovation, a real enrichment for the city with good shopping, designer shops, beauty salons, many restaurants and bars, Luxushotels, an amphitheater. Boat trips can also be undertaken, including the visit of the Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent part of his life in prison.

It is also here at the waterfront where the worthwhile Two Oceans Aquarium (aquarium of the two oceans) is located.

Cape Town has a compact center and it is worthwhile to enjoy walks in peace.

One of the streets with preserved Victorian historic buildings is the Long Street. There are historic monuments such as the Old Town Hall, the Castle of Good Hope adjacent to the market square also known as Greenmarket Square.

I liked a neighborhood called “Gardens”, quiet, with a green area and a restaurant. Around this area are grouped the National Library, the Presidency, St. George Cathedral, the South Africa Planetarium and Museum, Government Avenue and other interesting buildings.

A visit to the Table Mountain with breathtaking views is a must for every Cape Town visit.

You can use the cableway or walk up well-marked trails. We visited Cape Town in September where in the course of the afternoon the Table Mountain was wrapped in clouds, so plan this trip for a morning.

The best way to explore the city is by taking a city tour including the more remote areas such as the famous Cape Riviera with the most sought-after and expensive addresses with beautiful views, Llandudno, Clifton and Bantry Bay.

The drive along the coast road continues to Hout Bay where we saw the mountains of the Twelve Apostles. Cape Town offers really impressive landscapes.

There are different tours that you can take from Cape Town. We made the tour of Cape Peninsula along beautiful beaches to the Cape of Good Hope (formerly the Cape of Storms), 72 km from Cape Town.

On the way we visited Boulders Beach (30 km from the town) a colony of penguins, they are here all year!

On the way I also saw a whale, it was the first time I saw this animal, very fascinating!

I can really say that Cape Town is a great place to start a trip to South Africa. From there you can then travel to other destinations, such as: the Garden Route with beautiful beaches, lagoons, mountains and forests, or perhaps the Kruger National Park, famous vineyards … etc. etc.

Quem sabe, sobe o litoral norte a partir de Natal e chega rapidinho a São Miguel do Gostoso, a nova sensação do turismo do Brasil. Apenas 100 km – em torno de uma hora de carro – separam Natal desta belíssima praia do litoral norte/oeste do Rio Grande do Norte.

São Miguel do Gostoso já tem algum tempo que vem navegando nas águas do turismo potiguar. Há pelo menos 10 anos a cidade se transformou no terceiro pólo do turismo do Rio Grande do Norte, perdendo apenas para Pipa e Natal.

Mas, nos últimos anos, a demanda pelo turismo de São Miguel do Gostoso se incrementou muitíssimo.

A cidade já conta com uma excelente infra-estrutura turística. São em torno de 70 pousadas e flats, para todos os gostos e bolsos, além de cerca de 100 estabelecimentos, entre os quais excelentes restaurantes, como opções para comer. E come-se muito bem em São Miguel do Gostoso. A gastronomia aqui é de primeiríssima linha.

Fora da área urbana, há muitas outras praias, mas uma delas, a do Tourinhos, é muito especial. Tourinhos é considerada uma das praias mais bonitas do Brasil. Também instalada em uma enseada, Tourinhos conta com uma falésia de dunas petrificadas que existe ali há pelo menos dois mil anos.

A natureza em São Miguel do Gostoso é exuberante. Mas tem uma opção à parte que encanta os olhos dos visitantes. É o santuário de reprodução de tartarugas marinha espalhado por quase 30 km de toda a extensão da orla de São Miguel do Gostoso.

Na temporada de desova, que vai de dezembro a maio, são centenas de ninhos que reproduzem milhares de tartaruguinhas. O momento do nascimento destes animais é mágico e emocionante. As tartaruguinhas saem dos ovos e saem, lentamente, em busca do mar. E é ali que elas dão continuidade à espécie.

A eclosão dos ninhos de tartarugas (o momento em que elas saem dos ovos e abandonam os ninhos em busca do mar) é uma grande atração do turismo-ecológico de São Miguel do Gostoso.

O vento é outra grande atração da cidade. São Miguel do Gostoso a maior temporada de ventos em todo o mundo, mais de seis meses. O vento farto é considerado excelente para o velejo, em especial o windsurf e kitsurf. Velejadores de todo o mundo vem à cidade para esta prática de esporte.

Wer die Nordküste von Natal kennt stöβt schnell auf São Miguel do Gostoso, das neue Gefühl von Tourismus in Brasilien. Nur 100 km – und somit nur eine Stunde Autofahrt – trennen diesen wunderschönen Strand an der Nordküste Rio Grande do Nortes von Natal.

Schon seit langer Zeit sind die Gewässer von São Miguel do Gostoso Anziehungspunkt für Segelsport aller Art, seit 10 Jahren jedoch entwickelte es sich zu einem dritten Pol des Tourismus neben Natal und Pipa.

In den letzten Jahren hat die Nachfrage für São Miguel do Gostoso im Tourismusbereich stark zugenommen.

Die Stadt verfügt bereits über eine hervorragende touristische Infrastruktur. So gibt es rund 70 Pousadas und Apartments für jeden Geschmack und Geldbeutel. Unter den 100 touristischen Betrieben finden sich auch ausgezeichnete Restaurants mit vielen Optionen. Und Essen kann man sehr gut in Sao Miguel do Gostoso mit Küchen der besten Kategorien.

Aber was ist es, was Sao Miguel do Gostoso zu solch einem attraktiven Reiseziel für Touristen aus Brasilien und der ganzen Welt werden lässt?

Außerhalb des Stadtgebiets gibt es viele weitere Strände, aber einer von ihnen, Tourinhos, ist etwas ganz besonderes. Tourinhos wird als einer der schönsten Strände in Brasilien betrachtet. Ebenfalls in eine kleine Bucht eingerahmt wartet Tourinhos mit Klippen versteinerten Dünen auf, die seit mindestens 2.000 Jahren existieren.

Die Natur in Sao Miguel do Gostoso ist sehr üppig. Aber es gibt eine weitere Option, die das Auge der Besucher erfreut. Es ist das Schutzgebiet für die Aufzucht von Meeresschildkröten verstreut auf fast 30 km Länge der Küste von São Miguel Gostoso.

In der Laichzeit, die von Dezember bis Mai dauert, werden in Hunderten von Nestern Tausende von Schildkröten reproduziert. Die Geburt dieser Tiere ist magisch und spannend. Die Schildkröten kriechen aus den Eiern und machen sich langsam auf die Suche nach dem Meer, welches so das Überleben dieser Spezie garantiert.

Dieser Ausbruch aus den Schildkrötennestern ist eine große Attraktion des Öko-Tourismus in São Miguel Gostoso.

Der Wind ist eine weitere Attraktion der Stadt. São Miguel do Gostoso verzeichnet die längste Wind-Saison weltweit mit mehr als sechs Monaten. Der starke Wind eignet sich hervorragend zum Segeln, Windsurfen und v.a. auch dem Kitesurfen. Segler aus der ganzen Welt kommen in die Stadt, um diesen Sport zu praktizieren.

But what is it that makes Sao Miguel do Gostoso such an attractive destination for tourists from Brazil and around the world?

All tourists, from the simplest to the most demanding taste, like to get to know this place. You will find that the charm of Sao Miguel do Gostoso is its simplicity. And, of course, the magic of nature.

São Miguel do Gostoso is nestled in a bay of warm and calm waters and is surrounded by beautiful beaches. There are four beaches in the urban area – Maceió, Xepa, Cardeiro and Santo Cristo. Each of them offers the visitor its own special attractions and charm.

The urban beaches are liked with white dunes, lagoons, giant palm trees and the green-blue sea, which invites you irresistibly to bathe. In the waters of São Miguel do Gostoso you will be able to forget your life for a moment.

Outside the urban area there are many other beaches, but one of them, Tourinhos, is something special. Tourinhos is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. Also framed in a small bay, Tourinhos is waiting with cliffs of petrified dunes that have existed for at least 2,000 years.

The nature in Sao Miguel do Gostoso is very lush. But there is another option that will delight the eye of the visitors. It is the protected area for the rearing of sea turtles scattered on almost 30 km of the coast of São Miguel Gostoso.

In the spawning season, which runs from December to May, thousands of turtles are reproduced in hundreds of nests. The birth of these animals is magical and exciting. The turtles crawl out of the eggs and slowly begin to search for the sea, which guarantees the survival of this species.

This eruption from the turtle nests is a great attraction for the eco-tourism in São Miguel Gostoso.

The wind is another attraction of the city. São Miguel do Gostoso has the longest wind season worldwide with more than six months. The strong wind is ideal for sailing, windsurfing and nowadays the kitesurfing. Sailors from all over the world come to the city to practice this sport.

São Miguel do Gostoso has all this – and much more. But this “much more” is up to you and your curiosity to discover all the magic and charm of this city. And only your personal presence here will lead you to this magic of the “much more” that this beautiful beach has to offer.

A cidade de Busan é o segundo maior centro urbano da Coréia do Sul, tem, aproximadamente 4 milhões de habitantes e é famosa devido as suas belas praias, além de possuir o maior porto do país de cargas internacionais e também de onde partem navios de passageiros para o Japão e para a Ilha de Jeju, menor província do país.

De Busan pegamos um ônibus para o Gyeongju, próximo, conhecida como “Seorabol”, a capital do antigo Reino Unido de Silla, com muitos locais históricos: tais como, parque Tumuli, impressionante, com cerca de 20 tumbas reais da dinastia Silla do século I, integrante da lista de lugares considerados Patrimônio Cultural da Humanidade da UNESCO.

Um dos destaques desse parque é o “túmulo do cavalo celeste”, que mede 27 metros de diâmetro e 13 metros de altura.

Em síntese, nas câmaras funerárias foram encontrados jóias valiosas e vasos.

A visita ao Museu Nacional Gyeongju foi muito interessante. No caminho, pudemos avistar belas paisagens, sendo algumas, com muitas cores, que lembravam uma pintura impressionista.

O museu apresenta uma riqueza de tesouros culturais coreanos,

incluindo o famoso “Sino Divino do Rei Songdok”

Outro destaque neste dia foi a visita ao tranquilo Templo de Bulguksa, que integra a lista da UNESCO, desde 1995,

situado nas encostas do monte Tohamsan. Este oásis de tranquilidade é outro exemplo da assim chamada arquitectura Sila. A beleza do próprio templo e o desenho artístico das relíquias de pedra são famosos em todo o mundo. O Templo de Bulguksa foi construído em 528 d.C., durante o Reino Unido de Silla.

Nós realmente aproveitamos muito esse dia divertido em Busan e nas suas proximidades, sua cultura, história e seu povo, com suas tradições e atmosfera, tão distantes da mentalidade ocidental.

Busan ist die zweitgrößte Stadt in Südkorea mit etwa 4 Millionen Einwohnern und ist berühmt wegen seinen schönen Strände. Busan verfügt über einen der gröβten internationalen Frachthäfen weltweit und auch Fahrgastschiffe verkehren nach Japan und der Jeju Insel, der kleinsten Provinz des Landes.

Es war einer der Austragungsorte der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2002. Zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten zählen: die Strände von Haeundae, Gwangalli, Songjeong, der Geungan Park, der Gukje Markt, Gwangbok-dong & Nampo-dong, der PIFF Platz, die Texas Street, der Jagalchi Fischmarkt und vieles mehr.

Da wir nicht die Zeit hatten, all das genannte zu besuchen, konzentrierten wir uns auf die historischen UNESCO Sehenswürdigkeiten von Gyeongju, dem National Museum von Gyeongju und der Tempelanlage Bulguksa. Erich wird das Gesehene beschreiben und mit Fotos visualisieren.

Von Busan fuhren wir mit einem Bus in das nahegelegene Gyeongju, auch bekannt als “Seorabol”, die Hauptstadt des alten Silla-Königreichs mit vielen historischen Stätten wie z.B. dem beeindruckenden Tumuli Park mit seinen etwa 20 Königsgräbern der Silla Dynastie aus dem 1. Jh. und UNESCO Weltkulturerbe.

Besonders interessant in diesem Park ist das “Grab des himmlischen Pferdes”, das 27 Meter im Durchmesser und 13 Meter in der Höhe misst.

In diesen Grabkammern fand man Grabbeigaben wie wertvolle Schmuckstücke und Gefäße.

Beeindruckend war für uns auch der Besuch des Gyeongju National Museum, schon die Fahrt dorthin eröffnete uns manch farbenprächtigen, fast schon impressionistisch anmutenden Ausblick.

Das Museum präsentiert eine Fülle koreanischer Kulturgüter,

darunter auch die berühmte „Göttliche Glocke des Königs Songdok“.

Ein weiterer Höhepunkt an diesem Tag war für uns der Besuch des friedvoll gelegenen Bulguksa Tempels (seit 1995 UNESCO Liste),

eingebettet in die Hänge des Berges Tohamsan. Diese Oase der Ruhe ist ein weiteres Beispiel für die sogenannte Silla-Architektur. Die Schönheit des Tempels selbst und die künstlerische Ausgestaltung der steinernen Reliquien sind auf der ganzen Welt berühmt. Der Bulguksa Tempel wurde 528 während des Silla-Königreichs gebaut.

Hier nun eine Reihe von farbenprächtigen Eindrücken dieser fantastischen Tempelanlage.

Wir genossen diesen sehr kurzweiligen Tag in und um Busan, diese Kultur, Geschichte und die Menschen mit ihren Traditionen fernöstlicher Mentalität und Atmosphäre.

The city of Busan is the second largest city in South Korea with about 4 million inhabitants and is famous for its beautiful beaches. Busan has one of the largest international shipping ports in the world, and passenger ships operate to Japan and Jeju Island, the smallest province in the country.

It was one of the host cities of the World Cup in 2002. The main attractions include the beaches of Haeundae, Gwangalli, Songjeong, Geungan Park, Gukje Market, Gwangbok-dong & Nampo-dong, the PIFF Square, the Texas Street, the Jagalchi fish market and much more. Since we did not have the time to visit all this, we concentrated on the historical UNESCO sites of Gyeongju, the National Museum of Gyeongju and the Bulguksa Temple. Erich will describe what is seen and visualize with photos.

From Busan we took a bus to the nearby Gyeongju also known as “Seorabol”, the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom with many historical sites such as the impressive Tumuli Park with its about 20 royal tombs from the 1st century Silla dynasty and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

Particularly interesting in this park is the “tomb of the heavenly horse” measuring 27 meters in diameter and 13 meters in height.

In these burial chambers, burial objects were found, such as valuable jewelery and vessels.

The visit to the Gyeongju National Museum was also impressive and the journey to it opened up some colorful, almost impressionistic views.

The museum presents a wealth of Korean cultural treasures,

including the famous “Divine Bell of King Songdok”

Another highlight on this day was the visit to the peaceful located Bulguksa Temple (UNESCO list since 1995),

nestled in the slopes of Mount Tohamsan. This oasis of tranquility is another example of the so-called Silla architecture. The beauty of the temple itself and the artistic design of the stone relics are famous all over the world. The Bulguksa Temple was built in 528 during the Silla Kingdom. We really enjoyed this very entertaining day in and around Busan, this culture, history and the people with their traditions of far-eastern mentality and atmosphere.

O Brasil tem um litoral com, aproximadamente,8.000 km recheado com praias lindas e com águas mornas. Dentre essas praias, para quem gosta de um mar calminho, ótimo para banho e também para quem se preocupa e se interessa em preservação do meio ambiente, vale a pena visitar a Praia do Forte localizada no litoral norte da costa baiana.

Essa praia está situada na Estrada do Coco (rodovia BA-099, entre Lauro de Freitas e Praia do Forte), no município de Mata de São João, distante em torno de 55 km do aeroporto Antônio Carlos Magalhães e aproximadamente 80 km de Salvador.

Quando a gente lembra da Praia do Forte, imediatamente, vem à mente o Projeto Tamar. É nessa praia onde está localizada a sede desse belo projeto que faz tanto pela preservação das tartarugas no Brasil.

A praia possui um vilarejo com pousadas, resorts, condomínios de casas de veraneio também possui um centrinho com muitas lojas e restaurantes, além de uma singela igreja localizada a beira-mar.

Tive a oportunidade de visitar a Praia do Forte quando a maré estava baixa e achei o banho de mar ótimo, com águas calmas, ideal para tomar banho com crianças. Observei que o centrinho da Praia do Forte é organizado, é zona para pedestres, e vi que apenas um transporte especial, um tipo de “bicicleta riquixá” é permitido circular pelo centro, veja na foto abaixo.

Há sinalização turística e também observei a presença de vegetação como árvores e plantas nos canteiros centrais da avenida principal.

Além da praia, da avenida principal, onde estão localizadas os principais restaurantes e lojas, o Projeto Tamar, que está bem acessível, no final da avenida principal, ao lado da igreja, a Reserva de Sapiranga, a Praia do Forte também oferece um atrativo histórico: as ruínas do Castelo de Garcia D´Ávila, uma das primeiras edificações militares erguidas no Brasil pelos portugueses.

Vale a pena visitar também o Instituto Baleia Jubarte e o Parque Klaus Peters. Da Praia do Forte é possível fazer passeios para outras praias e vilarejos nas proximidades, além de também ser possível visitar Salvador.

Enfim, a Praia do Forte é um destino recomendado para todos, casais, famílias com crianças e pessoas desacompanhadas.

Brasilien verfügt über eine Küste von etwa 8000 km mit schönen Stränden und warmem Wasser. Für all diejenigen, die nach ruhigem Meer suchen, ideal zum Schwimmen und auch Interesse am Schutz der Umwelt bekunden, lohnt sich ein Besuch in „Praia do Forte“ an der Nordküste von Bahia.

Dieser Strand befindet sich an der Estrada do Coco (Kokosnuss-Straβe BA-099) etwa 55 km vom Flughafen Antonio Carlos Magalhães und ca. 80 km von Salvador entfernt.

Wenn wir uns an Praia do Forte erinnern, dann denken wir sofort an das Tamar-Projekt. Es ist dieser Strand, an dem sich das Hauptquartier dieses schönen Projektes befindet, das sich so sehr für die Erhaltung der Schildkröten in Brasilien engagiert.

Am Strand entlang sind ein Dorf mit Hotels, Resorts und Ferienhäuser gelegen, es gibt auch eine kleine Fuβgängerzone mit vielen Geschäften und Restaurants sowie einer einfachen Kirche direkt am Meer gelegen.

Ich konnte Praia do Forte bei Ebbe besuchen mit ruhigem Wasser ideal für Familien mit Kindern. Das kleine Zentrum ist sehr gut organisiert, nur Fahrrad-Rikschas sind erlaubt, alles ist sehr gut ausgeschildert und Bäume und Pflanzen bieten angenehmen Schatten.

Das Tamar-Projekt, hier das Sapiranga Reservat, ist leicht zugänglich am Ende der Fuβgängerzone direkt am Meer neben der Kirche.

Praia do Forte bietet auch eine historische Attraktion: die Ruinen der Bastion Garcia D’Avila, eine der ersten Militäreinrichtungen in Brasilien errichtet von den Portugiesen.

Es lohnt sich auch das Buckelwal-Institut und Klaus Peters Park besuchen.

Praia do Forte ermöglicht Ausflüge zu weiteren Stränden und Dörfern in der Nähe, aber selbst Salvador können Sie von hier aus besuchen.

Wie auch immer, Praia do Forte ist ein empfehlenswertes Reiseziel für alle, also für Paare, Familien mit Kindern, Gruppen und Singles.

Praia do Forte, a friendly destination in the north-east of Brazil

Brazil has a coastline of about 8000 km with beautiful beaches and warm water. For those who are looking for a calm sea, ideal for swimming and also being interested in the protection of the environment, it is worth visiting Praia do Forte on the north coast of Bahia.

This beach is located at the Estrada do Coco (coconut road BA-099) about 55 km from Antonio Carlos Magalhães airport and about 80 km from Salvador.

When we remember Praia do Forte we immediately think of the Tamar project. It is this beach where the headquarters of this beautiful project is located dedicated to the conservation of turtles in Brazil.

Along the beach are a village with hotels, resorts and holiday houses, there is also a small pedestrian zone with many small shops and restaurants as well as a simple church at the beach.

I could visit Praia do Forte at low tide with calm water ideal for families with children. The small center is very well organized, only bicycle rickshaws are allowed, everything is very well signposted and trees and plants offer pleasant shade.

The Tamar Project, here the Sapiranga Reserve, is easily accessible at the pedestrian zone right next to the church at the beach.

Praia do Forte also offers a historical attraction: the ruins of Bastion Garcia D’Avila, one of the first military facilities built in Brazil by the Portuguese.

Also worth visiting are the Humpback Whale Institute and Klaus Peters Park.

Praia do Forte allows excursions to further beaches and villages nearby, but even Salvador you can visit from here.

However, Praia do Forte is a recommended destination for all, so for couples, families with children, groups and singles.

Oficina de Francisco Brennand: universo de fantasia e sonho ou realidade surreal

Já visitei Recife várias vezes e sempre quis incluir uma visita à Oficina de Francisco Brennand. Nunca deu certo porque o lugar é afastado. Está distante cerca de 20 km do centro, localizado em uma área chamada Várzea. Dessa vez deu certo e visitamos a oficina.

O lugar é afastado sim, mas vale a pena para as pessoas que são amantes de visitar exposições de arte. Estávamos hospedados em Boa Viagem e de lá, o percurso nos custou cerca de R$ 30,00 (trinta reais) de Uber.

Bom, primeiro vamos conhecer um pouco sobre Francisco Brennand: é um artista pernambucano que nasceu em 1927, em Recife. Em 1971 ele começou a reconstruir a velha cerâmica São João da Várzea, fundada por seu pai em 1917.

Brennand criou um mundo mágico caracterizado por figuras fantásticas que mesclam sensualidade e fantasia. Para os olhos puritanos, a visita à Oficina é obscena em alguns momentos. Para as pessoas com uma visão de arte mais abrangente, o lugar transporta o visitante a um universo imaginário.

Ficamos impressionados com a imensidão do trabalho do artista. Compartilho a opinião de Erich que diz: “não gosto das peças individuais, mas o conjunto da obra é impressionante” e ele completa: “talvez até eu não tenha a capacidade de entender a complexidade da obra”.

O que nos fascina nessa visita é perceber a habilidade do artista de dominar o desenho, a pintura e a escultura, além da arte da olaria cerâmica. Em certos momentos, sente-se a influência de Salvador Dali e sua realidade surreal.

O lugar é composto pelo templo central, salão de esculturas, anfiteatro, praça Burle Marx, Academia, Templo do Sacrifício e pela loja-café.

Em média você vai gastar entre 2 – 3 horas para visitar tudo em paz e mergulhar num mundo de sonhos. Finalizamos esse post com uma citação, de autoria de Carlo Levi, (escritor e artista plástico italiano), exposta em um dos painéis da oficina onde se lê: “O futuro tem um coração antigo”.

Ich habe Recife schon oft besucht und wollte immer einen Besuch im Francisco Brennand Skulpturenpark einbinden. Es funktionierte nie, weil der Ort ca. 20 km vom Zentrum entfernt ist, in einer Gegend namens Várzea. Dieses Mal klappte es und ich konnte die Werkstatt dieses Künstlers besuchen.

Trotz der Lage lohnt sich der Besuch für Liebhaber von Kunstausstellungen. Von unserem Hotel in Boa Viagen kostete uns der Trip zum Park mit UBER-Taxi etwa 30 R$.

Nun, einige Informationen über Francisco Brennand : er ist ein Künstler aus Pernambuco und wurde im Jahr 1927 in Recife geboren. Im Jahr 1971 begann er mit dem Wiederaufbau der alten Töpferei São João da Várzea, die von seinem Vater im Jahr 1917 gegründet wurde.

Brennand konstruiert eine magische Welt von fantastischen Figuren charakterisiert durch den Mix von Sinnlichkeit und Phantasie. Für Besucher mit etwaigen „puritanischen Augen“ mag ein Besuch in der Werkstatt zuweilen obszön erscheinen. Menschen/Besucher mit einem „weitumfassenderen Blick“ auf Kunst schlechthin versetzt der Ort in ein beeindruckendes imaginäres Universum.

Wir waren von der Unermesslichkeit seiner Arbeit beeindruckt. Ich teile die Ansicht von Erich, der wie folgt das Gesehene zusammenfasste: „Auch wenn mir nicht alle individuellen Ausstellungsstücke gefallen mögen, das Gesamtwerk dagegen ist extrem beeindruckend“ und weiter fügt er hinzu, „vielleicht verfüge ich aber einfach nicht über die künstlerische Kompetenz, alle Möglichkeiten der Komplexität dieses Gesamtwerkes interpretieren und huldigen zu können“.

Was uns an diesem Besuch sehr faszinierte, war es, die diversen Fähigkeiten des Künstlers zu sehen, sowohl Zeichnungen, Malerei, Skulptur und die Kunst der Keramik auf beeindruckende Weise zu meistern. Manchmal spürt man den Einfluss von Salvador Dali und seiner surrealen Wirklichkeit.

Der gesamte Skulpturen-Park besteht aus der zentralen Tempelhalle, den Skulpturen, dem Amphitheater, dem Burle-Marx-Platz, der Akademie, dem Opfer-Tempel und dem Laden-Café.

Kalkulieren Sie zwischen 2 bis 3 Stunden für ihren Besuch, ohne an einer Führung teilzunehmen, und seien sie bereit, in eine Welt der Kunst, eine Welt der Träume und Fantasien einzutauchen. Uns gefiel am meisten diese Aussage von Carlo Levi: “Die Zukunft hat ein antikes Herz”.

I have often visited Recife and always wanted to include a visit to the sculpture park of the Francisco Brennand. It never worked because the place is about 20 km from the center, in a region called Várzea.

This time it functioned and I could visit the exhibition area of this artist.

Despite the far away location for lovers of art exhibitions it is worth visiting. From our hotel in Boa Viagen the trip to the Park with a “Uber”-taxi cost us about 30 R$.

Well, now some information about Francisco Brennand: he is an artist from Pernambuco and was born 1927 in Recife. In 1971 he began to rebuild the old pottery São João da Várzea founded by his father in 1917.

Brennand constructed a magical world of fantastic characters characterized by the mix of sensuality and imagination. For visitors with somehow “puritan eyes”, a visit to the place might seem obscene. People / visitors with a “ More comprehensive view” to art simply put the place into an impressive imaginary universe.

We were impressed by the immensity of his work. I share Erich’s view who summarized as follows: “Although I do not like all the individual pieces of art, the overall work is extremely impressive,” and he adds, “but perhaps I do not have the artistic competence to interpret and to pay homage to all the possibilities of the complexity of this whole complete works.”

What fascinated us on this visit was to see the various skills of the artist to master both drawings, painting, sculpture and the art of ceramics in an impressive way. Sometimes one feels the influence of Salvador Dali and his surreal reality.

The entire sculpture park consists of the central temple hall, the sculptures, the amphitheater, the Burle-Marx-Square, the academy, the sacrificial temple and the shop-café.

Calculate between 2 to 3 hours for your visit without taking part in a guided tour and be ready to dive into a world of art, a world of dreams and fantasies. We liked most the statement of Carlo Levi: “the future has a antique heart”.

Cuba é uma ilha muito bonita e única no Mar do Caribe. Ela surpreende com a sua histórica atmosfera “velhos tempos”, incrível natureza, música, energia positiva dos moradores, carros “Old Timers” e saborosos cocktails tradicionais. A ilha possui cerca de 1.200 quilômetros de comprimento e tem muito para se ver.

Vamos começar com a capital Havana. Hoje Havana é dividida em duas partes – a Cidade Nova e Havana La Habana Vieja (Velha Havana). A arquitetura da cidade velha é fortemente influenciada pelo período colonial espanhol. No entanto, Havana possui, definitivamente, o seu próprio e interessante espírito cubano.

A música cubana nos acompanha através das ruas de Havana. Uma grande experiência para nós foi definitivamente ouvir o grupo original de música cubana conhecido como “Buena Vista Social Club“, que tocou em um dos bares locais.

Depois de visitar Havana viajamos para Cienfuegos e Trinidad, a antiga cidade colonial em Cuba localizada no centro-sul.

Em seguida, visitamos uma das famosas plantações de tabaco do mundo, que está localizada na parte ocidental de Cuba, no Valle de Viñales.

A última parada em nossa viagem foi Varadero, um famoso resort turístico. Varadero está localizado na parte norte de Cuba na península de Hicacos, a 120 km de Havana. O mar azul-turquesa e areia branca em Varadero foram exatamente o que tinha imaginado. Isso faz com que Cuba do jeito que está agora, relativamente intocado pelo capitalismo e influências “ocidentais”, tão especial e definitivamente pelo menos uma vez na vida vale a pena ver – vale a pena visitar.

Kuba ist eine sehr schöne und einzigartige Insel im Karibischen Meer. Es überrascht mit seiner historischen “alten Zeit” Atmosphäre, erstaunlicher Natur, Musik, positive Energie der Einheimischen, “Old Timers” Autos und leckeren traditionellen Cocktails. Die Insel ist über 1.200km lang und bietet sehr viel zu sehen.

Beginnen wir mit der Hauptstadt Havanna. Heute ist Havanna zweigeteilt – die Neustadt Havanna und La Habana vieja (die Altstadt Havanna). Die Architektur der alten Stadt ist stark von der spanischen Kolonialzeit beeinflusst; allerdings offeriert Havanna definitiv seinen eigenen interessanten kubanischen Geist. Die kubanische Musik begleitet uns durch die Straßen in Havanna.

Eine tolle Erfahrung für uns war definitiv, die ursprüngliche kubanische Musik der Gruppe “Buena Vista Social Club” zu hören, die in einer der lokalen Musikbars spielte.

Nach dem Besuch von Havanna reisten wir weiter nach Cienfuegos und Trinidad, der alten Kolonialstadt im Mittel-Süd-Kuba.

Als nächstes besuchten wir eine der bekanntesten Tabakpflanzungen der Welt, die sich im westlichen Teil von Kuba – im Valle de Vinales befindet.

Die letzte Station unserer Reise war Varadero, ein berühmter Urlaubsort. Varadero befindet sich im nördlichen Teil von Kuba auf der Halbinsel Hicacos, 120 km von Havanna entfernt. Das türkisfarbene Meer und der weiße Sand bei Varadero waren genau das, was wir uns vorgestellt hatten. Das macht Kuba so, wie es jetzt noch ist, relativ unberührt von Kapitalismus und “westlichen” Einflüssen, so besonders und auf jeden Fall mindestens einmal im Leben sehenswert – besuchenswert.

CUBA-SPECIAL CHARM

Cuba is a very beautiful and unique island in the Caribbean sea.It surprises with its historic „old time“ atmosphere, amazing nature, music, positive energy of local people, “old timers” cars and delicious traditional cocktails. The island is over 1200km long and offers so much to see.

Let´s start with the capital city – Havana. Nowadays Havana is divided into two major parts – new city of Havana and la Habana vieja (the old city of Havana). The architecture of the old city is strongly influenced by Spanish colonial time; however, still Havana definitely has its interesting Cuban spirit.

The Cuban music accompanies the streets in Havana. A great experience for us was definitely to hear the original Cuban music of the group „Buena Vista Social Club“playing in one of the local music bars.

After visiting Havana we moved further to Cienfuegos and Trinidad, the old colonial town in the Central-South Cuba.

As next we visited one of the most known tobacco plantages in the world, which is located in the west part of Cuba – Valle de Vinales.

The last stop of our trip was Varadero, a famous place for vacation spent on the beach. Varadero can be found in the Northern part of Cuba on the Hicacos peninsula, 120km from Havana. The turquoise-colored sea and white sand at Varadero were exactly what we have imagined. This all makes Cuba as it is now, untouched by capitalism and „Western“ influences, so special and definitely worth seeing at least once in a lifetime.

Para quem gosta de viajar, descansar, se desligar de tudo, se hospedar em um resort com tudo incluído, conhecido também como “all inclusive” é uma boa escolha. Ou não? Neste post vou apresentar aqui minhas impressões sobre esse assunto.

Vale a pena se hospedar em um resort com tudo incluído?

Primeiro, é bom esclarecer que o sistema de tudo incluído não significa luxo nos serviços. Não. Substitua a palavra luxo pela palavra self-service. É isso mesmo. Você vai se servir de bebidas, comidas, você vai se levantar da sua espreguiçadeira a beira da piscina e vai buscar seu cocktail, nenhum garçom vai trazer o cardápio, a carta de bebidas, tem horas que dá uma vontade de ter um garçom por perto…

Em relação a aspectos físicos, a estrutura de um resort pode ter edifícios com muitos apartamentos e também os bangalôs, com casas independentes ou estruturas geminadas com categoria luxo, superluxo, dentre outras.

Bom baseada nessas considerações e nas experiências que vivi com o Erich em resorts pelo Brasil, cheguei às seguintes conclusões:

Se hospede em um resort com tudo incluído, se você procura:

Um lugar seguro;
Que todas as despesas estejam incluídas, que você não precise estar assinando contas, é confortável;
Se você quer realmente relaxar, se esquecer do mundo, somente curtir a piscina,os restaurantes, as praias, o parquinho para crianças, atividades com animadores (como ginástica na água, aulas de dança, dentre outros);

Se você gosta de um hotel onde existe uma flexibilidade de horários para os serviços de alimentação;

Se você não estiver preocupado em “ganhar uns quilinhos extras”, pois comida e bebidas estão disponíveis quase 24 horas;
Se você não se importa de ser mais um no hotel e não quer atenção especial;
Se você quer usufruir de piscina e de praia, geralmente os resorts estão sempre bem localizados (tem alguns que estão situados próximos de áreas de preservação ambiental e por isso, é possível ver animais nos jardins dos mesmos), mas, isso não significa dizer que as praias são sempre ótimas para banho;

Há uma grande diversidade de comida, os buffets são grandes devido a grande quantidade de hóspedes;
Se você não se importa em ficar na fila para quase tudo: fila para tapioca, fila omelete, fila para pedir uma caipirinha no bar da piscina…

Não vá, se:

Gosta de uma atenção especial. O serviço é quase “anônimo” considerando que você não desenvolve uma relação pessoal com os empregados;
Está fazendo reeducação alimentar e quer perder peso ou é uma pessoa que vive contando as calorias dos alimentos que come e das bebidas que ingere;
Se tem alguma coisa contra turismo de massa, pois os resorts recebem uma grande quantidade de hóspedes;
Se gosta de sentar na beira da piscina e da praia e esperar ser sempre servido por um garçom;
Você gosta de bater um papinho com garçom para saber particularidades do lugar, eles estão sempre ocupados e servem bem rápido porque sempre tem alguém esperando;
Você não tem a opção de escolhas. Por exemplo: eu não gostei do vinho tinto servido no restaurante e não pude trocar por outro, pois o hotel somente oferecia aquele tipo, branco ou tinto;
Gosta de comida variada. Os buffets de almoço e jantar são grandes, porém, são os mesmos todos os dias com pequenas variações;
Se você não gosta de “gueto”.

Outro aspecto importante é que o sistema tudo incluído não significa que tudo está realmente incluído. Por isso, quando for fazer sua reserva peça a lista do que está e não está incluído. Por exemplo, há hotéis que informam que somente está incluído o que for servido nas áreas comuns do resort, que a internet não está incluída…

E aí? Que tal alguns dias em um resort com sistema tudo incluído?

Lohnt sich ein Aufenthalt in einem „ALLES INKLUSIVE“ Resort?

Für all diejenigen, die reisen und dabei total abschalten wollen, könnte ein Aufenthalt in einem sogenannten „Alles Inklusive Resort“ eine durchaus gute Wahl sein. Oder auch nicht? In diesem Beitrag werde ich meine Eindrücke diesbezüglich präsentieren.

Also, lohnt es sich, in einem ein Alles-Inklusive-Resort Urlaub zu machen?

Erstens ist es wichtig, klarzustellen, dass Alles-Inklusive nicht unbedingt Luxus bedeutet. Nein. Ersetzen Sie das Wort Luxus einfach für das Wort Selbstbedienung. Es wird keinen Kellner geben, der Ihnen Speisen, Getränke oder Cocktails am Pool an Ihrem Liegestuhl servieren wird…sie werden dies manchmal vermissen.

Die physischen Aspekte betreffend kann es viele unterschiedliche Kategorien mit unterschiedlichen Luxus- und Preis-Strukturen geben vom einfachen Zimmer ausgehend bis hin zum eigenen kleinen Bungalow im Grünen.

Nun, auf der Grundlage solcher Überlegungen und den Erfahrungen, die ich mit Erich in verschiedenen Resorts in Brasilien gemacht habe, kam ich zu folgenden Schlussfolgerungen:

Buchen Sie ein Alles-Inklusive-Resort, wenn Sie Folgendes suchen:

Einen sicheren Ort;

Alle Kosten enthalten sind, so werden Sie nicht dauernd Rechnungen unterschreiben müssen – bequem;

Wenn Sie wirklich nur entspannen wollen, die Welt vergessen wollen, nur den/die Pools, die Restaurants, Strände, Spielplätze für Kinder, Aktivitäten mit Animateuren wie z.B. Wasser-Gymnastik, Tanzkurse usw. genieβen wollen;

Wenn Sie sich keine Sorgen über „ein paar Pfunde mehr” machen wollen/müssen, weil Essen und Getränke fast 24 Stunden zur Verfügung stehen;

Wenn Sie nicht wollen, daβ Ihnen eine ganz besondere Aufmerksamkeit entgegengebracht wird;

Wenn Sie v.a. die Pools und den Strand genießen wollen, dann sind in der Regel Resorts immer sehr gut gelegen (es gibt einige sogar nahe Umweltschutzbereichen und so können durchaus Tiere daraus erscheinen), aber das bedeutet nicht immer, dass die Strände zum Schwimmen immer optimal geeignet sind;

Wegen der großen Anzahl der Gäste ist die Vielfalt von Lebensmitteln und das Angebot an den Buffets riesig;

Wenn Sie nichts dagegen haben für Vieles oft in einer Warteschlange zu stehen: z.B. für Tapioka, Omeletts beim Frühstück oder einen Caipirinha an der Poolbar

Buchen Sie NICHT ein All-Inclusive-Resort, wenn Sie Folgendes suchen:

Besondere persönliche Aufmerksamkeit. Der Service ist fast “anonym”. Sie werden keine persönliche Beziehung zum Personal entwickeln können;

Sie Gewicht verlieren wollen, sich in einer Diätphase befinden, wo dann letztendlich jede Kalorie zählt;

Wenn Sie etwas gegen Massentourismus haben, da die Resorts ja bekanntlich sehr viele Gäste anziehen;

Wenn Sie am Pool und am Strand sitzen mögen und Sie erwarten, immer von einem Kellner bedient zu werden;

Falls Sie einen kleinen Plausch mit dem Kellner haben möchten, um mehr Informationen zu sammeln, sie sind immer beschäftigt, weil schon immer jemand wartet;

Sie haben keine Möglichkeiten für Alternativen. Ich mochte den Rotwein im Restaurant nicht, konnte aber keinen anderen bekommen, da nur je ein Sorte Rot- oder Weiβwein serviert wurde;

Wenn Sie abwechslungsreiches Essen mögen. Mittagessen und Abendessen sind sehr vielfältig, aber es ist dennoch jeden Tag das gleiche mit kleineren Variationen;

Wenn Sie nicht wie in einem “Ghetto” Urlauben wollen.

Ein letzter weiterer wichtiger Aspekt ist, dass Alles Inklusive nicht bedeutet , dass alles in Alles Inklusive enthalten ist. Also, wenn Sie buchen, fragen Sie nach der Liste, was bei Alles Inklusive enthalten ist und was nicht. Es gibt Hotels, da ist im Preis alles inbegriffen, was in den öffentlichen Bereichen des Resorts serviert wird, unter Umständen das Internet aber nicht!

“Und nun? Wie wäre es nun mit ein paar Tagen in einem Resort mit ALLES-INKLUSIVE?”

Is it worth staying in an “ALL INCLUSIVE” resort?

For those who travel and want to relax totally , a stay in a so-called “All Inclusive Resort” could be quite a good choice. Or not? In this article I will present my impressions about this subject.

Firstly, it is important to clarify that all-inclusive does not mean necessarily luxury. No. Replace the word luxury simply for the word self-service. There will be no waiter who will serve you food, drinks or cocktails by the pool on your deck chair … this you will miss sometimes.

In terms of physical aspects there exist many different categories with different luxury and price structures ranging from a simple room to a small bungalow in the green.

Well, on the basis of such considerations and the experiences I have had with Erich at various resorts in Brazil, I came to the following conclusions:

Book an All-inclusive Resort if you are looking for:

A safe place;All costs are included, so you will not need constantly sign bills – convenient;

If you really just want to relax, to forget the world, only to enjoy the pool (s), restaurants, beaches, playgrounds for children, activities with entertainers like water-gymnastics, dance-classes, etc.;

Flexibility of meal times and the meals;If you do not have to worry about “a few extra pounds” because food and drinks are available for almost 24 hours;If you do not want a special attention to you;

If you are using mainly the pools and the beaches then usually resorts are always very well located (there are some even close to environmental protection areas and so animals even might appear), but that does not mean that the beaches are always suitable for swimming;

Because of the large number of guests the variety of food and the offer at the buffets is huge;

If you do not mind to be for many things in a queue often: e.g. for tapioca, omelets at breakfast or a caipirinha at the pool bar

Do NOT book an All-inclusive Resort if you are looking for:

Particular personal attention. The service is almost “anonymous”. You will not be able to develop a personal relationship with staff;

You want to lose weight, you are in a dietary phase, where ultimately every calorie counts;

If you have something against mass tourism, since the resorts are known to attract a lot of guests;

If you like sitting by the pool and the beach and you expect to be always served by a waiter;

If you want to have a little chat with the waiter to collect more information, they are always busy because someone is already always waiting;

You have no options for alternatives. I did not like the red wine in the restaurant, but I could not get another one because only one variety of red or white wine was served;

If you like variation in food. Lunch and dinner are very varied, but it is the same every day with smaller changes;

If you do not like to go in a “ghetto” feeling holiday.

Another final important aspect is that the all-inclusive system does not mean that everything is actually included. So when you make your reservation ask for the list of what is and what is not included. For example, there are hotels that report that only what is served in the public areas of the resort is included, in certain circumstances even the internet is not included!

And now? “What about a few days in an all-inclusive resort?”

Na “Avenida das Estrelas” / An der “Avenue of Stars”/ At the „Avenue of Stars“

Hong Kong (conhecida como “porto perfumado”) é uma metrópole e zona especial administrativa localizada na costa sul da República Popular da China, no delta do Rio das Pérolas, importante centro financeiro

Com mais de sete milhões de habitantes distribuídos em 1.104 km², Hong Kong está entre as principais metrópoles do mundo. 95 % dos residentes de Hong Kong são de origem chinesa e o idioma predominante é o cantonês. Hong Kong foi até 1997 uma colônia britânica.

As áreas mais densamente povoadas são a Península de Kowloon e a área norte da ilha Hong Kong, separadas braço de mar do Porto Victoria. O enorme crescimento da população e a pequena área edificável disponível em Hong Kong ocasionou a execução de projeto de aterramento de parte do mar onde foram construídos arranha-céus.

Hong Kong é uma das cidades com maior custo de vida no mundo.

No entanto, Hong Kong emana um fascínio eterno, que agora queremos apresentar com palavras e imagens através de um passeio à noite e outro durante o dia.

Nós começamos nosso passeio noturno sobre a “Avenida das Estrelas”, o equivalente à Calçada da Fama de Hollywood, onde estão cunhadas as mãos de várias estrelas do cinema asiático (para nós ocidentais, os mais conhecidos são Bruce Lee e Jack Chan).

A partir daí você pode admirar o espetáculo “Symphony of Light” (Sinfonia das luzes), que transforma com efeitos visuais e música sincronizada 33 edifícios ao longo do porto de Victoria em um mundo único de Luz.

Em seguida, mergulhar nos mercados de rua da Temple Street e Jade,

que oferecem em suas inúmeras barracas o imaginável e inimaginável para venda,

além dos quiosques de comida que deixam seus aromas exóticos flutuar por toda a área de mercado (outros mercados de Hong Kong: o de Pássaros e Flores e o de Sheung Wan).

Ou entrar em um dos até agora conhecidos restaurantes com um tradicional menu com oito pratos, conhecido popularmente como “Peking Duck Dinner”.

A nossa viagem de um dia que começou com um passeio de barco do porto de Victoria com vistas inesquecíveis da cidade e suas paisagens do horizonte.

De volta para o nível do mar, visitamos a pitoresca Aberdeen Village (aldeia), que abriga os chamados “boat people” (pessoas de barcos), que vivem suas vidas em seus barcos (Junks). Aberdeen era uma vila tranquila de pescadores, é hoje a maior cidade da Ilha de Hong Kong, cujo porto é sua maior atração.

Nós incluímos nesse passeio um almoço típico chinês chamado “Chinese Dim Sum almoço” no maior restaurante flutuante do mundo, o “JUMBO”, que impressiona pela decoração magnifica.

Da última vez que visitei Hong Kong, visitei Macau, distante uma hora de catamarã da cidade. Macau oferece uma mistura exótica de culturas chinesa e portuguesa.

Desejamos-lhe muita diversão quando desfrutar do “fascínio de Hong Kong … !!”

E finalmente, mais uma informação. O que me impressiona em Hong Kong, é que os arranhas-céus construídos de forma cada vez mais rápida e mais altos, ainda utilizam, durante os seus processos construtivos, andaimes feitos com varas de bambus amarradas.

Hongkong, (“DuftenderHafen”) ist eine Metropole und Sonderverwaltungszone an der Südküste der Volksrepublik China im Mündungsgebiet des Perlflusses. Mit über sieben Millionen Einwohnern auf 1.104 Quadratkilometern zählt Hongkong zu den Weltstädten. 95 Prozent der Einwohner Hongkongs sind chinesischer Abstammung mit überwiegend kantonesischer Muttersprache. Es war bis 1997 britische Kronkolonie.

Die am dichtesten besiedelten Gebiete sind die Halbinsel Kowloon und der Norden von Hongkong Island, die durch die schmale Meerenge Victoria Harbour getrennt sind. Das gewaltige Bevölkerungswachstum und die geringe bebaubare Fläche Hongkongs führte zu großflächiger Landgewinnung durch Aufschüttung im Meer und zur Entstehung einer Skyline aus Wolkenkratzern.

Hongkong gilt als eine der Städte mit den weltweit höchsten Lebenshaltungskosten.

Trotzdem strahlt Hongkong eine immerwährende Faszination aus, die wir nun durch eine Tour nachts und einer eintägigen Tour bei Tageslicht mit Wort und Bild beleuchten wollen.

Wir beginnen unsere Nachttour an der „Avenue der Stars“, Hongkongs Gegengewicht zu Hollywood mit Hand- und Fuβabdrücken der Stars der Kinowelt.

Von hier aus können Sie dann auch das einzigartige Medienspektakel „Symphonie des Lichts“ bewundern, das mit visuellen Effekten und synchronisierter Musik 33 Gebäude entlang des Viktoria Hafens in eine einzigartige Lichterwelt transformiert.

Unsere Tagestour starteten wir mit einer Bootstour durch den Victoria Hafen mit unvergesslichen Ausblicken auf die City und ihre Skyline-Landschaften.

Das letzte Mal in Hongkong konnte ich auch noch Macau besuchen, in 1 Stunde mit einem Katamaran zu erreichen. Macau offeriert eine exotische Mischung chinesischer und portugiesischer Kulturen.

Hong Kong, (“Fragrant Harbour “) is a metropolis and special administrative zone on the south coast of the People’s Republic of China in the mouth of the Pearl River. With over 7 million inhabitants on 1,104 square kilometers, Hong Kong is one of the world’s cities. Ninety-five percent of Hong Kong’s inhabitants are of Chinese descent, with predominantly Cantonese mother tongue. It was until 1997 British Crown Colony.

The most densely populated areas are the Kowloon peninsula and the north of Hong Kong Island, separated by the narrow seagulls of Victoria Harbor. Then dive into the nightly street markets near Temple Street

with its countless stands, which offer all imaginable and unimaginable for sale

and the food bars, which exhilarate their exotic smells throughout the whole market.

Or indulge in one of the famous restaurants with an 8-course traditional “Peking Duck Dinner”.

We started our day trip with a boat journey through Victoria Harbor with unforgettable views of the city and its skyline landscapes.

From the top of Victoria Peak at about 400 meters altitude wonderful views and panoramas open up on the city, the island, the harbor, the Kowloon peninsula and the South China Sea.

Back down to the sea we then visited the picturesque Aberdeen Village, home to the so-called “boat people” who live their lives on their junk boats.

We combined this tour with a typical Chinese lunch called “Chinese Dim Sum Lunch” on the magnificently decorated largest floating “JUMBO” restaurant on our planet.

Last time in Hong Kong I could also visit Macau to reach in 1 hour with a catamaran boat. Macau offers an exotic mixture of Chinese and Portuguese cultures.

And finally one more thing! What always astonishes me in Hong Kong is the fact that although the skyscrapers, which are growing ever faster and higher in the sky, still have their basic structure in bundled bambus.

O PERFUME DE PROVENCE

Era verão e o sol brilhava com toda sua intensidade. Seus raios iluminavam intermináveis campos azuis que exalavam um aroma único: o perfume da ‘Provence’. Dava para sentir um perfume intenso provocado por milhares de flores de lavanda que alcançam toda uma região.

Justamente nessa época, entre julho e agosto, é quando os campos repletos de lavanda estalam em flor. É como um imenso jardim da França.

No entorno desses campos de azuis e lilases, castelos milenares, igrejas românicas e pequenas vilas.

Havíamos traçado uma rota cujo destino era a cidade de Marselha, às margens do mediterrâneo e com seu porto histórico.

As fronteiras já estavam abertas pela União Europeia, a livre circulação de pessoas permitida pelo Tratado de ‘Schengen’, mas o euro ainda não circulava. Cruzar os limites entre Espanha e França pelos Pirineus é como andar entre nuvens. Na altura de ‘La Jonquera’, última cidade na Catalunha, aparece a indicação para Perpinhã.

Cidade francesa localizada nos Pirineus orientais, tem o idioma catalão co-oficial com o francês. Depois, seguimos na direção de Montpellier, lugar milenar na região do Languedoc-Rousillon.

A ideia era explorar a ‘Provence’, fixando base em Marselha, capital administrativa da região da ‘Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur’, segunda maior cidade da França e a mais antiga cidade francesa. É, também, a terceira mais populosa depois de Paris e Lyon. O antigo porto foi transformado em espaço de ócio, com restaurantes, bares e hotéis. O novo porto é o mais importante da frança e um dos mais destacados no mediterrâneo.

A cerca de trinta quilômetros de Marselha, ainda no mediterrâneo, a pequena vila de Cassis tem seus encantos.

Encravada na emblemática Costa Azul, lugar de veraneio de celebridades, consagrado por atrizes como Brigitte Bardot. É curioso como os franceses não abrem mão do seu idioma, principalmente no sul da frança. Dizem que ali possui um sotaque ibérico. Inglês nem pensar. Italiano, um pouco, já que a fronteira com a Itália está a mais ou menos duzentos quilômetros. A vila de Cassis é um encanto.

Outro dia escapamos para visitar Aix-em-Provence, capital histórica da região, com grande apelo universitário e com um patrimônio arquitetônico invejável.

A luz incomparável, as paisagens campestres de ‘Aix’ e a alegria de viver do seu povo, serviram de inspiração para as telas de Paul Cézane. Os locais onde o artista viveu podem ser visitados. As cores e os aromas das pequenas feiras e mercados de antiguidades tomam conta das diversas praças da cidade semanalmente aos domingos.

A gastronomia da Provence é colorida e simples, tendo como base produtos frescos. Caças, mariscos, queijos de cabra e legumes são fortes na região.

‘Arles’, cidade onde viveu Van Gogh, e ‘Avignon’, que durante vários anos foi residência dos Papas da igreja católica, foram os destinos seguintes. Mas na semana próxima explico um pouco. Não por nada, mas porque é sempre bom reencontrar o céu azul e a doçura da Provence.

DER DUFT DER PROVENCE

Es war Sommer und die Sonne schien mit all ihrer Intensität. Ihre Strahlen beleuchten endlose blaue Felder, die einen einzigartigen Duft verströmten: den Duft der ‘Provence’.

Ich konnte einen intensiven Duft von Tausenden von Lavendelblüten verspüren, welcher eine ganze Region überzieht. Gerade in dieser Zeit zwischen Juli und August, wenn all die Felder voll von Lavendel in voller Blüte stehen. Es ist wie ein riesiger Garten Frankreichs. Rund um diese blauen und lilafarbenen Felder finden sich alte Schlösser und Burgen, romanischen Kirchen und kleine Dörfer.

Wir hatten eine Route deren Ziel die Stadt Marseille war, am Ufer des Mittelmeers mit seinem historischen Hafen gelegen.

Die Grenzen erlaubten bereits durch den Vertrag von “Schengen” der Europäischen Union den freien Grenzverkehr von Personen, obwohl der EURO nocht nicht in Umlauf war. Das Überschreiten der Grenze zwischen Spanien und Frankreich durch die Pyrenäen ist wie zwischen den Wolken zu Fuß einherschreiten.

Auf der Höhe von ‘La Jonquera’, der letzten Stadt in Katalonien erscheint dann das Hinweisschild nach Perpignan.

Die französische Stadt in den östlichen Pyrenäen hat neben Französisch auch Katalanisch als gemeinsame Amtssprache. Dann geht es weiter in Richtung Montpellier, einem alten Ort in der Region Languedoc-Roussillon.

Die Idee war es, die ‘Provence’ zu erkunden mit Basis in Marseille, der Verwaltungshauptstadt der Region “Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur” und der ältesten französischen Stadt. Es ist auch die drittgrößte Stadt nach Paris und Lyon. Der alte Hafen wurde transformiert in einen Bereich für Freizeit mit Restaurants, Bars und Hotels. Der neue Hafen ist der wichtigste von Frankreich und einer der führenden im Mittelmeer.

Etwa dreißig Kilometer von Marseille liegt auch am Mittelmeer das kleine Dorf Cassis mit seinen Reizen.

Eingebettet in das Aushängeschild Riviera verdankt dieser Sommerferienort seine Berühmtheit Schauspielerinnen wie z.B Brigitte Bardot. Es ist merkwürdig wie die Franzosen nicht von ihrer Sprache abrücken vor allem im Süden von Frankreich. Sie sagen, es habe einen iberischen Akzent. An Englisch ist nicht zu denken. Auch ein wenig Italienisch wird gesprochen, da die Grenze zu Italien nur etwa zweihundert Kilometer entfernt ist. Das Dorf Cassis hat Charme.

An einem weiteren Tag besuchten wir Aix-en-Provence, die historische Hauptstadt der Region mit angesehener Universität und mit seinem beneidenswerten architektonischen Erbe.

Es wurde als Aix (Aquae Sextiae) 123 v. Christ durch den römischen Konsul Sextius Calvinus gegründet, der auch seinen Namen gab. 102 v. Christ fand die Schlacht von Aquae Sextae zwischen römischen Truppen unter dem Kommando Caio Mario gegen eindringende Stämme statt. Im vierten Jahrhundert wurde sie Hauptstadt der „Narbonensischen Secunda”. Später um 477 wurde sie von den Westgoten besetzt. In 731 wurde es von den Arabern zerstört. Schließlich im Jahre 1487 ging sie an die Krone von Frankreich. Es war auch der Sitz des Parlaments von 1501-1793.

Schlendern Sie durch die Allee Mirabeu mit seinen Cafés und Restaurants – ein herrliches Programm. Das unvergleichliche Licht, die Landschaft von “Aix” und die Lebensfreude der Menschen, dienten als Inspiration für die Gemälde von Paul Cézane.

Die Orte, an denen der Künstler gelebt hat, können besichtigt werden. Die Farben und Aromen der kleinen Märkte und Antiquitätenstände sorgen an den verschiedenen Plätzen wöchentlich am Sonntag für eine gediegene Atmosphäre.

Die Küche der Provence ist bunt und einfach basierend auf frischen Produkten. Wild, Meeresfrüchte, Ziegenkäse und Gemüse sind in der Region stark vertreten.

“Arles”, die Stadt wo Van Gogh lebte und ‘Avignon’, die für viele Jahre die Residenz der Päpste der katholischen Kirche war, waren unsere folgenden Ziele. Dazu später mehr.

Es ist immer gut, den blauen Himmel und die Süße der Provence zu entdecken.

THE FRAGRANCE OF THE PROVENCE

It was summer and the sun was shining with all its intensity. Its rays illuminated endless blue fields that exhaled a unique scent: the scent of ‘Provence’.

I could feel an intense smell of thousands of lavender blossoms, covering a whole region. Just in this time between July and August when all the fields are full of lavender in full bloom. It is like a giant garden of France. Around these blue and lilac fields are found old castles, romanesque churches and small villages.

We had a route whose destination was the city of Marseille on the banks of the Mediterranean with its historic harbor. The borders already allowed the free border traffic of persons through the „Treaty of Schengen“ of the European Union, even though the EURO was not in circulation yet. Crossing the border between Spain and France through the Pyrenees was like walking between the clouds on foot.

At the top of ‘La Jonquera’, the last city in Catalonia, the sign for Perpignan appears.

The French city in the eastern Pyrenees has French as well as Catalan as a common official language. Then we continue towards Montpellier, an old town in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

The idea was to explore the ‘Provence’ with base in Marseille, the administrative capital of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and the oldest French city. It is also the third largest city after Paris and Lyon. The old port has been transformed into an area for recreation with restaurants, bars and hotels. The new port is the most important of France and one of the leading in the Mediterranean.

About thirty kilometers from Marseille lies the small village of Cassis with its charms also on the Mediterranean.

Nestled in the Riviera this summer holiday resort owes its celebrity actresses such as Brigitte Bardot. It is strange how the French do not move away from their language habits, especially in the south of France. They say it has an Iberian accent. Do not think in English. Also a little Italian, as the border to Italy is only about two hundred kilometers away. The village of Cassis has ist charm.

On another day we visited Aix-en-Provence, the historical capital of the region with a prestigious university and with its enviable architectural heritage.

It was described as Aix (Aquae Sextiae) 123 B.C. Founded by the Roman consul Sextius Calvinus, who also gave his name. 102 B.C. took place the battle of Aquae Sextae between Roman troops under the command Caio Mario against invading tribes. In the fourth century it became the capital of the “Narbonensian Secunda”, later occupied by the Visigoths around 477. It was destroyed by the Arabs in 731. Finally, in 1487, it went to the Crown of France between 1501-1793.
