A Volta ao Mundo em 66 Dias – Parte 3/Einmal um die Welt in 66 Tagen – Teil 3/Around the World in 66 Days – Part 3

Desde criança, meu sonho era viajar pelo mundo. Aqui está a parte 3 da nossa aventura única de 66 dias.

No final desse texto apresentamos, através de um filme de fotos algumas impressões das nossas estações em Londres (Inglaterra), Irlanda e Portugal.

Depois de um voo de 8 horas partindo de Dubai, chegamos a Londres, o ponto original oficial de início e fim de nossa circunavegação do mundo, agora também chamada de “RTW”, “Round The World”.

Aqui estão alguns números como um guia:

Em Londres passamos alguns dias relaxando e descansando, veja mais aqui.

Antes de iniciarmos nossa viagem de volta ao Brasil, fizemos um pequeno desvio para a Irlanda com breves passagens por Dublin e a paisagem selvagem do penhasco em Cliffs of Moher, muito impressionante!

Da Irlanda continuamos em direção a casa com outra pequena parada em Lisboa e divertidas excursões à vizinha Cascais e também a atraente Azenhas do Mar com localização única.

Felizes e cheios de várias impressões do que havíamos vivido e visto em 11 países e um total de 29 destinos de viagem visitados individualmente e acima de tudo saudáveis, finalmente chegamos em casa em Natal, sem saber que muito em breve uma pandemia indescritível iria impedir qualquer atividade de viagem por muito tempo.

Seit meinen Kindheitstagen war es mein Traum, einmal eine Weltreise zu machen. Hier nun der Teil 3 unseres 66tägigen einzigartigen Abenteuers.

Ein weiterer Foto-Film möchte Ihnen nun einige Eindrücke auf unseren Stationen in London (England), Irland und Portugal vermitteln.

Von Dubai aus gelangten wir nach einem 8- stündigen Flug nach London, dem ursprünglichen offiziellen Start- und Zielpunkt unserer Weltumrundung, hier nun auch „RTW“ genannt, „Round The World“.

Anbei einige Zahlen als Orientierungshilfe.

In London verbrachten wir einige Tage zum Entspannen und Relaxen, mehr hierzu finden Sie hier.

Bevor wir uns auf die Heimreise nach Brasilien begaben, machten wir noch einen kleinen Abstecher nach Irland mit Kurzbesuchen in Dublin, siehe hier,und der wilden Klippenlandschaft in Cliffs of Moher, sehr beeindruckend!

Von Irland aus ging es weiter in Richtung Heimat mit einem nochmaligen kurzen Stopp in Lissabon und kurzweiligen Ausflügen in das nahegelegene Cascais

und auch das attraktive einmalig gelegene Azenhas do Mar.

Glücklich und voller diverser Eindrücke vom Erlebten und Gesehenen in 11 Ländern und insgesamt 29 individuellen besuchten Reisezielen und/aber v.a. gesund kamen wir schließlich wieder in Natal, zuhause, an, nichtsahnend, dass sehr bald eine unsägliche Pandemie jegliche Reiseaktivität für sehr lange Zeit komplett verhindern würde.

Around the World in 66 Days – Part 3

Ever since I was a child, it has been my dream to travel around the world. Here is part 3 of our 66-day unique adventure.

Another PhotoFilm would now like to give you some impressions of our stations in London (England), Ireland and Portugal.

After an 8-hour flight from Dubai, we arrived in London, the original official start and end point of our circumnavigation of the world, here now also called “RTW”, “Round The World”.

Here are some numbers as a guide:

In London we spent a few days relaxing and chilling, see more here.

Before we started our journey home to Brazil, we made a small detour to Ireland with short visits to Dublin, see here, and the wild cliff landscape at Cliffs of Moher, very impressive!

From Ireland we continued towards home with another short stop in Lisbon and entertaining excursions to nearby Cascais and also the attractive uniquely located Azenhas do Mar.

Happy and full of various impressions of what we had experienced and seen in 11 countries and a total of 29 individually visited travel destinations and/or above all healthy, we finally arrived back at home in Natal, unaware that very soon an unspeakable pandemic would completely prevent any travel activity for a very long time.

O Rio de Janeiro é cheio de belezas que atraem visitantes de diversas partes do mundo. Isso todo mundo sabe. Erich e eu já visitamos essa cidade inúmeras vezes, porém, estava faltando conhecer o Museu do Amanhã. Eu, arquiteta, desde o primeiro momento que tomei conhecimento sobre o Projeto de Arquitetura do Museu fiquei impressionada com a concepção arquitetônica do mesmo e curiosa para conhecer seu acervo.

Primeiro, é importante destacar que a construção desse edifício está inserido no “maior projeto de desenvolvimento urbano…”do país, que é o projeto de requalificação da região do porto da cidade do Rio de Janeiro com uma área de 34,6 mil metros quadrados do Píer Mauá.

O Museu do Amanhã possui 15 mil metros quadrados de área construída e está localizado no Porto Maravilha, na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O edifício é circundado por área de lazer, ciclovia, espelhos d´água e jardim, sendo o último projetado pelo escritório Burle Marx. O projeto arquitetônico é do renomado arquiteto espanhol Santiago Calatrava. A forma do edifício foi inspirada nas bromélias do Jardim Botânico, de acordo com Calatrava.

Segundo o site do Museu, essa instituição “…é um museu de ciências diferente. Um ambiente de ideias, explorações e perguntas sobre a época de grandes mudanças em que vivemos e os diferentes caminhos que se abrem para o futuro.

A Exposição Principal do Museu do Amanhã está localizada no segundo andar do prédio e o visitante percorre cinco áreas: Cosmos, Terra, Antropoceno, Amanhãs e Nós, com diversas informações apresentadas em português, espanhol e inglês.

Rio de Janeiro ist voller Attraktionen, welche Besucher aus aller Welt anziehen. Das weiß jeder. Erich und ich haben diese Stadt schon oft besucht, aber was gefehlt hat, war das Museum of Tomorrow. Ich, ein Architekt, war vom ersten Moment an, als ich vom Architekturprojekt des Museums erfuhr, beeindruckt von seinem architektonischen Design und neugierig auf seine Sammlungen.

Zunächst ist es wichtig hervorzuheben, dass der Bau dieses Gebäudes Teil des „größten Stadtentwicklungsprojekts …“ des Landes ist, nämlich des Requalifizierungsprojekts für die Hafenregion der Stadt Rio de Janeiro mit einer Fläche von 34.600 Quadratmetern vom Pier Mauá.

Das Museum of Tomorrow hat eine bebaute Fläche von 15.000 Quadratmetern und befindet sich in Porto Maravilha in der Stadt Rio de Janeiro. Das Gebäude ist umgeben von einem Freizeitbereich, einem Fahrradweg, reflektierenden Wasserbecken und einem Garten, der vom Büro Burle Marx entworfen wurde. Das architektonische Projekt stammt von dem renommierten spanischen Architekten Santiago Calatrava. Die Form des Gebäudes sei von den Bromelien des Botanischen Gartens inspiriert, so Calatrava.

Laut der Website des Museums ist diese Institution „… ein etwas anderes Wissenschaftsmuseum. Ein Umfeld voller Ideen, Erkundungen und Fragen über die Zeit großer Veränderungen, in der wir leben, und die verschiedenen Wege, die sich für die Zukunft eröffnen.“

Die Hauptausstellung des Museum of Tomorrow befindet sich im zweiten Stock des Gebäudes und der Besucher reist durch fünf Bereiche: Kosmos, Erde, Anthropozän, Morgen und Wir, mit verschiedenen Informationen, die auf Portugiesisch, Spanisch und Englisch präsentiert werden.

Rio de Janeiro is full of attractions that attract visitors from all over the world. Everyone knows that. Erich and I have visited this city many times, but what was missing was the Museum of Tomorrow. I, an architect, from the first moment I learned about the museum’s architectural project, I was impressed by its architectural design and curious about its collections.

First of all it is important to point out, that the construction of this building is part of the country’s “largest urban development project…”, namely the requalification project for the port area of the city of Rio de Janeiro, covering an area of 34,600 square meters from the Pier Mauá.

The Museum of Tomorrow has a built area of 15,000 square meters and is located in Porto Maravilha in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The building is surrounded by a leisure area, a bike path, reflecting pools and a garden designed by the Burle Marx office. The architectural project comes from the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. According to Calatrava, the shape of the building was inspired by the bromeliads in the botanical gardens.

According to the museum’s website, this institution is “…a science museum with a difference. An environment full of ideas, explorations and questions about the time of great change we are living in and the different avenues opening up for the future.”

The main exhibition of the Museum of Tomorrow is on the second floor of the building and the visitor travels through five areas: Cosmos, Earth, Anthropocene, Tomorrow and We, with various information presented in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

A Volta ao Mundo em 66 Dias – Parte 2

Desde criança meu sonho era realizar uma viagem ao redor do mundo, aqui está a parte 2 da nossa aventura de 66 dias.

O filme de fotos no final desse texto apresenta algumas impressões sobre nossas estações em Cingapura, Nepal e Dubai.

De Alice Springs, na Austrália pegamos um voo com duração de três horas até Perth e em seguida outro voo de cinco horas e meia até Cingapura.

Esta cidade fascina pela sua limpeza e segurança, características cada vez mais problemáticas em muitas metrópoles do nosso planeta devido às alterações climáticas, à política e aos fluxos de refugiados.

Esta metrópole no Sudeste Asiático oferece arquitetura fabulosa, atrações fenomenais, excelentes hotéis, restaurantes e oportunidades ilimitadas de compras. Cingapura também é um importante centro de viagens para se visitar outros destinos na Ásia.

Em vários posts descrevemos nossas experiências como Sentosa, a ilha muito procurada para entretenimento e diversão.

As cúpulas de flores e florestas tropicais também impressionam com sua arquitetura e explosão de cores, uma visita é altamente recomendada.

Sim, podemos afirmar que Cingapura pode ser chamada de pérola do Sudeste Asiático para nós.

Nossa próxima etapa nos levou a Katmandu, no Nepal. O voo durou cerca de 5 horas e chegamos ao aeroporto local por volta da meia-noite. Na manhã seguinte pudemos ver e sentir que havíamos chegado a um mundo completamente diferente, os contrastes não poderiam ser maiores. Muito barulho, multidões em todos os lugares, caos no trânsito e as consequências do devastador terremoto de 2015 podem ser vistos em todos os lugares.

Também planejamos algumas excursões para nossos seis dias no Nepal e as organizamos com uma agência de viagens local. O destaque foi um voo panorâmico sobre a Cordilheira do Himalaia com ótimas vistas do Monte Everest, uma experiência inesquecível.

Um voo relativamente curto de 4 horas então nos trouxe até Dubai nos Emirados Árabes Unidos, depois do Nepal novamente uma viagem a um mundo totalmente oposto com imponentes superlativos de todos os tipos, depois do Nepal isso foi como chegar um “lugar conto de fadas das 1001 Noites”.

Uma viagem de um dia também nos levou a Abu Dhabi com sua famosa Mesquita Sheikh Zayed.

Em nossos posts você pode saber mais sobre as atrações de Dubai, que também foi o local originalmente planejado para a exposição mundial EXPO em 2020.

A 3ª e última parte de nossa viagem ao mundo nos levará a Londres, Irlanda e Portugal após 66 dias.

De lá é finalmente de volta para casa – Brasil…!!

Seit meinen Kindheitstagen war es mein Traum, einmal, eine Weltreise zu machen, hier nun der Teil 2 unseres 66tägigen Abenteuers.

Ein Foto Film möchte Ihnen nun einige Eindrücke auf unseren Stationen in Singapur, Nepal und Dubai vermitteln.

Von Alice Springs in Australien brachte uns zunächst ein 3stündiger Flug nach Perth und dann ein weiterer in 5,5 Stunden nach Singapur. Diese Stadt fasziniert durch seine Sauberkeit und Sicherheit, Charakteristika, die in vielen Metropolen unserer Erde heutzutage auch durch den Klimawandel, Politik und Flüchtlingsströme zusehends extrem problembehaftet sind.

Diese Metropole in Südostasien offeriert sagenhafte Architektur, phänomenale Attraktionen, superbe Hotels, Restaurants und unbeschränkte Shoppingmöglichkeiten, darüber hinaus ist Singapur ein bedeutendes Drehkreuz für Reisen in und nach Asien.

In mehreren Posts beschreiben wir unsere Erfahrungen wie z.B Sentosa, die sehr beliebte Insel für Unterhaltung und Spaß.

Auch der Blumen- und Regenwalddom überzeugen mit Architektur und Farbenpracht, ein Besuch ist absolut empfehlenswert.

Ja, wir können festhalten, dass Singapur für uns als ein Schatz (Perle) Südostasiens bezeichnet werden kann.

Unsere nächste Etappe brachte uns nach Kathmandu in Nepal. Der Flug dauerte etwa 5 Stunden und wir erreichten gegen Mitternacht am dortigen Airport. Am nächsten Morgen konnten wir dann sehen und spüren, dass wir nun in einer ganz anderen Welt angekommen waren, die Gegensätze hätten nicht grösser sein können. Viel Lärm, überall Menschenmengen, Verkehrschaos und überall auch noch die Folgen des verheerenden Erdbebens vom Jahre 2015 zu sehen.

Auch für unsere 6 Tage in Nepal hatten wir einige Ausflüge geplant und mit einem hiesigen Reisebüro organisiert, das Highlight war ein Panorama-Flug im Himalaya Massiv mit tollen Ausblicken auf den Mount Everest, ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

Ein relativ kurzer Flug von 4 Stunden brachte uns dann nach Dubai in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten, nach Nepal wieder eine Reise in eine total gegensätzliche Welt mit imposanten Superlativen aller Art, war dies nach Nepal eine Art Fata Morgana oder ein Märchen aus 1001 Nacht.

Ein Tagesausflug führte uns auch nach Abu Dhabi mit seiner berühmtem Scheich-Zayid- Moschee.

Around the World in 66 Days – Part 2

Ever since I was a child it has been my dream to go on a trip around the world, here is part 2 of our 66-day adventure.

A photo Film would now like to give you some impressions of our stations in Singapore, Nepal and Dubai.

From Alice Springs in Australia we took a 3 hour flight to Perth and then another 5,5 hour flight to Singapore.

This city fascinates with its cleanliness and safety, characteristics that are increasingly problematic in many metropolises on our planet due to climate change, politics and refugee flows.

This metropolis in Southeast Asia offers fabulous architecture, phenomenal attractions, superb hotels, restaurants and unlimited shopping opportunities, Singapore is also a major hub for travel to and from Asia.

In several posts we describe our experiences such as Sentosa, the very popular island for entertainment and fun.

The flower and rainforest domes also impress with their architecture and blaze of colour, a visit is highly recommended.

Yes, we can state that Singapore can be called a treasure (pearl) of Southeast Asia for us.

Our next stage brought us to Kathmandu in Nepal. The flight took about 5 hours and we arrived at the local airport around midnight. The next morning we could see and feel that we had now arrived in a completely different world, the contrasts could not have been greater. Lots of noise, crowds everywhere, traffic chaos and the consequences of the devastating earthquake of 2015 can be seen everywhere.

We had also planned some excursions for our 6 days in Nepal and organized them with a local travel agency. The highlight was a panoramic flight in the Himalayas with great views of Mount Everest, an unforgettable experience.

In our posts about Nepal and Kathmandu you can read more about our impressions or things worth knowing if you are planning a trip to this country with its magnificent mountain landscapes.

A relatively short flight of 4 hours then brought us to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, after Nepal again a journey into a totally opposite world with imposing superlatives of all kinds, after Nepal this was a kind of Fata Morgana or a fairy tale from 1001 Nights.

A day trip also took us to Abu Dhabi with its famous Sheikh Zayed Mosque.

The 3rd and last part of our world trip will then take us to London, Ireland and Portugal after 66 days

From there it’s finally back home – Brazil…!!

Pienza é uma cidade medieval localizada no Val d´Orcia, cuja combinação entre a paisagem do vale e os prédios renascentistas constituem um cenário de beleza e harmonia que atrai milhares de visitantes anualmente. Ela está localizada na região da Toscana e está distante em torno de 268 quilômetros e Florença e 85 de Siena. Nós visitamos Pienza através de um tour privado onde combinamos também a visita a Montelcino e Montelpulciano, pois elas são próximas.

Erich eu realizamos um passeio de um dia à Pienza e ficamos encantados com a beleza do lugar. Parece até que viajamos no tempo e acordamos na época medieval. Quando se pesquisa sobre a história da cidade observa-se que o principal aspecto em destaque é que Pienza é resultado de um sonho do Papa Pio II que queria erigir a “cidade ideal”. Para isso, escolheu a cidade onde nasceu, Corsignano e contratou Rossellino, famoso arquiteto que já havia trabalhado com o famoso Leon Alberti (um dos grandes arquitetos daquele tempo) para projetar e construir um novo centro para a cidade. Essa construção durou três anos e resultou no monumental centro da cidade com a praça que tem o nome desse Papa. Pienza é um exemplo típico de um espaço urbano construído durante a Renascença, criado de acordo com os conceitos urbanísticos inspirados na cidade ideal da cultura humanista.

Ao redor da Praça Pio II, considerada a joia da cidade, estão localizados os principais monumentos da cidade: o Palazzo Piccolomini, o Palazzo Borgia, o Comunal e a Catedral, dedicada a Assunção da Virgem. Além desses monumentos merecem também destaque Palazzo Vescovile, Casa dei Canonici, onde está instalado o Museu Catedralício.

Se você for a Pienza, não deixe de provar o famoso queijo Pecorino de Pienza. A combinação clássica para se comer esse queijo é com peras e acompanhado com um bom vinho Chianti.

Pienza – kleines Renaissance-Juwel

Pienza ist eine mittelalterliche Stadt im Val d’Orcia, deren Kombination aus der Landschaft des Tales und den Renaissancegebäuden ein Szenario der Schönheit und Harmonie bildet, das alljährlich Tausende von Besuchern anzieht. Pienza liegt in der Toskana und ist etwa 268 Kilometer von Florenz und 85 Kilometer von Siena entfernt. Wir besuchten Pienza im Rahmen einer privaten Tour, bei der wir auch den Besuch von Montelcino und Montelpulciano miteinbezogen, da sie ganz in der Nähe liegen.

Erich und ich machten einen Tagesausflug nach Pienza und wir waren von der Schönheit des Ortes verzaubert. Es fühlte sich an, als würden wir in der Zeit zurückreisen und im Mittelalter aufwachen. Bei der Erforschung der Geschichte der Stadt wurde festgestellt, dass Pienza das Ergebnis eines Traumes von Papst Pius II ist, der die „ideale Stadt“ bauen wollte. Dafür wählte er seine Geburtsstadt Corsignano und beauftragte Rossellino, einen berühmten Architekten, der bereits mit dem berühmten Leon Alberti (einem der großen Architekten dieser Zeit) zusammengearbeitet hatte, um ein neues Zentrum für die Stadt zu entwerfen und auch zu bauen. Dieser Bau dauerte drei Jahre und führte zum monumentalen Zentrum der Stadt mit dem Platz, der den Namen dieses Papstes trägt. Pienza ist ein typisches Beispiel für einen urbanen Raum, der während der Renaissance konstruiert wurde und nach urbanen Konzepten geschaffen wurde, die von der idealen Stadt der humanistischen Kultur inspiriert wurden.

Rund um die Piazza Pio II, die als das Juwel der Stadt gilt, befinden sich die wichtigsten Monumente der Stadt: Palazzo Piccolomini, Palazzo Borgia, die Gemeinde und die Kathedrale, die der Himmelfahrt der Jungfrau gewidmet ist. Neben diesen Denkmälern verdienen auch der Palazzo Vescovile und die Casa dei Canonici, in der sich das Kathedralenmuseum befindet, hervorgehoben zu werden.

Wenn Sie nach Pienza kommen, sollten Sie unbedingt den berühmten Pecorino-Käse von Pienza probieren. Die klassische Kombination, diesen Käse zu verzehren, ist mit Birnen und einem guten Chianti-Wein.

Pienza – small Renaissance jewel

Pienza is a medieval town in the Val d’Orcia whose combination of the valley’s landscape and the Renaissance buildings creates a scenario of beauty and harmony that attracts thousands of visitors every year. Pienza is located in Tuscany and is about 268 kilometers from Florence and 85 kilometers from Siena located. We visited Pienza as part of a private tour which included visiting Montelcino and Montelpulciano as they are very close by.

Erich and I took a day trip to Pienza and we were enchanted by the beauty of the place. It felt like we were going back in time and waking up in the Middle Ages. While researching the history of the city, it was found that Pienza is the result of a dream of Pope Pius II who wanted to build the “ideal city”. For this he chose his native town of Corsignano and commissioned Rossellino, a famous architect who had already collaborated with the famous Leon Alberti (one of the great architects of the time) to design and also to build a new center for the city. This construction lasted three years and led to the monumental center of the city with the square that bears the name of this Pope. Pienza is a typical example of an urban space constructed during the Renaissance, created according to urban concepts inspired by the ideal city of humanistic culture.

A Volta ao Mundo em 66 Dias – Parte 1/Einmal um die Welt in 66 Tagen – Teil 1/ Around the World in 66 Days – Part 1

Desde criança meu sonho era viajar pelo mundo, principalmente inspirado nos filmes de aventura de Júlio Verne.

Finalmente, aos 63 anos, pude realizar esse sonho com a Márcia e ficamos extremamente felizes que esse projeto de viagem pelo mundo pudesse acontecer antes da pandemia e pudéssemos começar e terminar a viagem conforme planejado.

Em 3 partes queremos partilhar com vocês algumas impressões visuais desta viagem de aventura, experiências com diferentes culturas, línguas, religiões, zonas climáticas, paisagens e sobretudo pessoas.

Antes de iniciarmos essa viagem em Londres passamos alguns dias em Munique com amigos e familiares em 2018. De Londres voamos para Santiago no Chile em um voo que durou 15 horas. Descansamos um pouco na capital chilena e de lá seguimos, em um voo que durou 5 horas, para a impressionante Ilha de Páscoa (Rapa Nui) com seus sítios arqueológicos onde se encontram Moais, aquelas esculturas colossais feitas de blocos monolíticos de pedra.

Passamos 3 noites e 4 dias na ilha. Com um carro alugado foi muito fácil visitar todos os pontos turísticos.

De Rapa Nui a viagem nos levou em um voo de 6 horas até Papeete no Tahiti, puro exotismo, florestas tropicais, cachoeiras, flores, jardins aquáticos, cavernas e gente simpática.

Depois de mais 6 horas de voo chegamos em Auckland, na Nova Zelândia, que eu acho um país muito fascinante. Primeiro exploramos a cidade e realizamos excursões pela cidade, depois fizemos o check-in em um navio de cruzeiro que primeiro nos levou a vários pontos turísticos do país, seguido de uma travessia para a Austrália.

Esta viagem marítima foi para nós um momento muito especial, pois significou poder celebrar o Natal em alto mar em 2018, uma experiência brilhante.

Este cruzeiro de 12 dias teve paradas com várias excursões em terra nos seguintes portos/lugares: Tauranga, Akaroa, Dunedin, Fiordland National Park, depois Hobart na Tasmânia na Austrália, Melbourne e finalmente Sydney, onde também pudemos celebrar o Novo Ano de 2019.

De Sydney visitamos as Blue Mountains e depois via Alice Springs passamos alguns dias em Uluru, local da misteriosa e impressionante Ayers Rock no centro da Austrália.

Novamente de Alice Springs a viagem nos levou via Perth a Cingapura, para nós uma das metrópoles mais impressionantes da Ásia.

Einmal um die Welt in 66 Tagen – Teil 1

Seit meinen Kindheitstagen war es mein Traum, einmal eine Weltreise zu machen, v.a. damals inspiriert durch die Abenteuerfilme von Jules Verne.

Nun letztendlich mit 63 Jahren konnte ich diesen Traum mit Marcia realisieren und worüber wir extrem glücklich waren und bis heute sind, dass dieses Weltreiseprojekt noch vor der unsäglichen Pandemie stattfinden konnte und wir die Reise so wie geplant beginnen und auch beenden konnten.

In 3 Teilen möchten wir nun mit Ihnen einige visuelle Impressionen dieses abenteuerlichen Trips teilen, Erfahrungen mit unterschiedlichen Kulturen, Sprachen, Religionen, Klimazonen, Landschaften und v.a. Menschen.

In München genossen wir dann also im Jahr 2018 noch ein paar vorweihnachtliche Tage mit Freunden und Familie, bevor es dann in London begann mit einem 15 stündigen Flug nach Santiago de Chile, einer kurzen Ruhepause und Weiterflug (5 Stunden) auf die beeindruckenden Osterinseln (Rapa Nui) mit ihren archäologischen Stätten, wo sich die meisten Moas befinden, diese kolossalen Skulpturen aus monolithischen Steinblöcken.

Wir haben 3 Nächte und 4 Tage auf der Insel zugebracht. Mit dem gemieteten Auto war es sehr einfach, all die Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besuchen.

Von Rapa Nui aus führte uns die Reise in einem 6 stündigen Flug nach Papeete auf Tahiti, Exotik pur, tropischen Wäldern, Wasserfällen, Blumen, Wassergärten, Höhlen und freundlichen Menschen.

Nach einem weiteren etwa 6 stündiger Flug kamen wir in Auckland auf Neuseeland an, ein, wie ich meine, sehr faszinierendes Land. Zunächst erkundeten wir die Stadt und machten Ausflüge im Umfeld der Stadt, dann checkten wir auf einem Kreuzfahrtschiff ein, das uns zunächst zu verschiedenen touristischen Höhepunkten des Landes brachte mit anschließender Überfahrt nach Australien.

Diese Seereise war für uns ein ganz besonderes Highlight, da es für uns bedeutete, dieses 2018 Weihnachten auf hoher See feiern zu dürfen, ein geniales Erlebnis.

Diese 12 tägige Kreuzfahrt hatte in folgenden Häfen/Orten Stopps mit diversen Landausflugsmöglichkeiten: Tauranga, Akaroa, Dunedin, Fiordland National Park, dann Hobart auf Tasmanien in Australien, Melbourne und schließlich Sydney, wo wir dann auch in das Neue Jahr 2019 hineinfeiern durften.

Von Sydney aus besuchten wir die Blue Mountains und dann verbrachten wir via Alice Springs einige Tage in Uluru, diesem geheimnisumwitterten und sehr beeindruckenden Ayers Rock im Zentrum Australiens.

Wieder von Alice Springs aus führte uns dann die Reise via Perth nach Singapur, für uns eine der imposantesten Metropolen Asiens auf unserem Planeten.

Around the World in 66 Days – Part 1

Ever since I was a child it has been my dream to travel around the world, mainly inspired by Jules Verne’s adventure films.

Finally, at the age of 63, I was able to realize this dream with Marcia and we were extremely happy that this world travel project could take place before the unspeakable pandemic and we were able to start and end the trip as planned.

In 3 parts we would like to share with you some visual impressions of this adventurous trip, experiences with different cultures, languages, religions, climate zones, landscapes and above all people.

So in Munich we enjoyed a few more pre-Christmas days with friends and family in 2018, before we started in London with a 15-hour flight to Santiago de Chile, a short rest and a further flight (5 hours) to the impressive Easter Island (Rapa Nui) with its archeological sites where most of the Moas are found, those colossal sculptures made from monolithic blocks of stone.

We spent 3 nights and 4 days on the island. With the rented car it was very easy to visit all the sights.

From Rapa Nui the journey took us in a 6-hour flight to Papeete in Tahiti, pure exoticism, tropical forests, waterfalls, flowers, water gardens, caves and friendly people.

After another 6 hour flight we arrived in Auckland, New Zealand, which I think is a very fascinating country. First we explored the city and made excursions around the city, then we checked in on a cruise ship that first took us to various tourist highlights in the country, followed by a crossing to Australia.

This sea voyage was a very special highlight for us, as it meant being able to celebrate Christmas on the high seas in 2018, a brilliant experience.

This 12-day cruise had stops with various shore excursion options in the following ports/places: Tauranga, Akaroa, Dunedin, Fiordland National Park, then Hobart on Tasmania in Australia, Melbourne and finally Sydney, where we were also allowed to celebrate the New Year 2019.

From Sydney we visited the Blue Mountains and then via Alice Springs we spent a few days in Uluru, this mysterious and very impressive Ayers Rock in central Australia.

Again from Alice Springs, the journey took us via Perth to Singapore, for us one of the most impressive metropolises in Asia on our planet.

Montepulciano, jóia da Toscana/Montepulciano – Juwel der Toskana/Montepulciano – Jewel of Tuscany/

Montepulciano é uma comuna italiana, pertencente à Siena com uma população estimada de 14 mil habitantes, localizada no alto de uma colina na Região da Toscana, de onde se tem uma bela vista do Val d’Orcia e Val di Chiana. Ela está distante cerca de 65 km de Siena e 13 km da bela Pienza.

Erich realizamos à Região da Toscana e de Siena, fizemos um passeio à Montepulciano e nos encantamos com essa pérola toscana. A melhor forma de conhecer os atrativos da cidade é caminhando pelo seu centro histórico que é cercado por muralhas e fortalezas. Durante esse passeio você vai apreciando as edificações, as charmosas vielas pontilhadas com lojas de souvenires, vinho, comidinhas e claro, vai parando, degustando o vinho e beliscando as delícias da cozinha italiana. Um dia é suficiente para realizar esse tour.

O coração da cidade é a Piazza Grande, onde existem belos edifícios como o Palazzo Comunale, sede da prefeitura, do século XIV, o Palácio Nobili-Tarugi e a Catedral, que possui uma das obras-primas da Escola de Siena, a Assunção (1401), de Taddeo di Bartolo e um poço, chamado “Pozzo dei Griffi e dei Leoni “, onde existe o brasão dos Medicis. A rua mais charmosa de Montelpuciano é a Il Corso, com belas residência oriundas do século XVI. Uma das mais belas igrejas da região é a Igreja de San Biagio, também do século XVI, projeto de Antônio da SAngallo, o Velho.

Na saída da cidade vale a pena fazer uma parada estratégica e visitar Templo di San Biaggio, um belo exemplar da arquitetura renascentista, construído no século 16 no caminho que leva a Pienza. Nessa área foram filmadas cenas da série Medici Masters of Florence da Netflix.

Se você estiver em Montepulciano no último domingo do mês de agosto, vale apreciar o evento mais famoso da cidade: Bravio delle Botti, trata-se de uma corrida onde os participantes empurram barris de vinho num percurso de quase dois quilômetros subindo ladeiras.

Montepulciano é o lar do famoso Vino Nobile Montepulciano.

Montepulciano – Juwel der Toskana

Montepulciano ist eine italienische Gemeinde, die zu Siena gehört, mit einer geschätzten Bevölkerung von 14.000 Einwohnern, auf einem Hügel in der Toskana gelegen, von wo aus Sie einen wunderschönen Blick auf das Val d’Orcia und das Val di Chiana haben. Es ist etwa 65 km von Siena und 13 km vom schönen Pienza entfernt.

Wir waren in der Toskana und dort in Siena untergebrracht, von dort aus haben wir einen Ausflug nach Montepulciano gemacht und wir waren verzaubert von dieser toskanischen Perle. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt entdecken Sie am besten bei einem Spaziergang durch das historische Zentrum, das von Mauern und Festungen umgeben ist. Während dieser Tour werden Sie die Gebäude, die charmanten Gassen mit Souvenirläden, Wein und Essen zu schätzen wissen und natürlich werden Sie anhalten, um Wein zu probieren und die Köstlichkeiten der italienischen Küche zu genießen. Ein Tag reicht aus für diesen schönen Ausflug.

Das Herz der Stadt ist die Piazza Grande, wo sich wunderschöne Gebäude wie der Palazzo Comunale, das Rathaus aus dem 14. 1401), von Taddeo di Bartolo und einem Brunnen namens „Pozzo dei Griffi e dei Leoni“, wo sich das Wappen der Medici befindet. Die charmanteste Straße in Montelpuciano ist Il Corso mit wunderschönen Residenzen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Eine der schönsten Kirchen der Gegend ist die Kirche San Biagio, ebenfalls aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, entworfen von Antonio da Sangallo dem Älteren.

Auf dem Weg aus der Stadt heraus lohnt es sich, einen strategischen Stopp einzulegen und den Templo di San Biaggio zu besuchen, ein schönes Beispiel der Renaissance-Architektur, der im 16. Jahrhundert auf dem Weg nach Pienza erbaut wurde. Szenen aus der Netflix-Serie Medici Masters of Florence wurden in diesem Bereich gedreht.

Wenn Sie am letzten Sonntag im August in Montepulciano sind, lohnt es sich, die berühmteste Veranstaltung der Stadt zu besuchen: Bravio delle Botti, ein Rennen, bei dem die Teilnehmer Weinfässer über eine Strecke von fast zwei Kilometern bergauf schieben.

Montepulciano ist die Heimat des berühmten Vino Nobile Montepulciano.

Montepulciano is an Italian commune belonging to Siena with an estimated population of 14,000 inhabitants, located on a hill in Tuscany from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana. It is about 65 km from Siena and 13 km from beautiful Pienza.

We were in Tuscany and stayed in Siena, from there we made a trip to Montepulciano and we were enchanted by this Tuscan pearl. Florença na Itália é o berço do movimento artístico denominado Renascimento e abriga museus com coleções de arte de grande relevância mundial. Sendo assim, Florença é um roteiro obrigatório para os amantes de arte que viajam à Itália.

Eu havia visitado Florença há muitos anos atrás, numa viagem muito rápida à trabalho e guardei na memória a imagem do David de Michelângelo como uma das mais belas esculturas que apreciei na minha vida. Tive o prazer de retornar à Florença com Erich e dessa vez apreciar a cidade com tranquilidade. Incluímos no nosso roteiro uma visita à Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze ou também conhecida popularmente como a Galeria da Academia. Ela foi fundada em 1794 com o objetivo de servir de local de estudo para os alunos da Academia de Belas Artes localizada próxima. Se você gosta de apreciar esse tipo de beleza, a Galeria da Academia é visita obrigatória quando você visitar Florença.

Dentre as peças as mais famosas desse museu destacam-se o David de Michelangelo, datado de 1501, as esculturas Prisioneiros, o São Mateus e a Pietá Palestrina, de autoria do mesmo artista. Florenz in Italien ist der Geburtsort der künstlerischen Bewegung namens Renaissance und beherbergt Museen mit Kunstsammlungen von großer weltweiter Bedeutung. Daher ist Florenz eine obligatorische Reiseroute für Kunstliebhaber, die nach Italien reisen.

Ich habe Florenz vor vielen Jahren auf einer sehr kurzen Arbeitsreise besucht, und ich behielt das Bild von Michelangelos David als eine der schönsten Skulpturen, die ich in meinem Leben gesehen habe, in Erinnerung. Ich hatte nun das Vergnügen, mit Erich nach Florenz zurückzukehren und dieses mal die Stadt in Ruhe zu genießen. Wir schlossen in unsere Reiseroute einen Besuch der Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze ein, die im Volksmund auch als Accademia-Galerie bekannt ist. Sie wurde 1794 mit dem Ziel gegründet, den Studenten der nahegelegenen Akademie der Bildenden Künste als Studienstätte zu dienen. Falls Sie diese Art von Kunst-Schönheit zu schätzen wissen, ist die Accademia Galleria ein Muss bei einem Besuch in Florenz.

Zu den berühmtesten Stücken in diesem Museum gehören der David von Michelangelo aus dem Jahr 1501, die Skulpturen Prisoneiros, São Mateus und Pietá Palestrina desselben Künstlers. Darüber hinaus ist es erwähnenswert, dass sich in der Accademia die berühmten Skulpturen Entführung der Sabinerinnen von Giambologna, Madonna mit Kind und Madonna des Meeres von Botticelli befinden. Accademia Museum in Florence – Place of Art Treasures

I visited Florence many years ago on a very short work trip and I remember the image of Michelangelo’s David as one of the most beautiful sculptures I have seen in my life. I have now had the pleasure of returning to Florence with Erich and this time enjoying the city at leisure. We included in our itinerary a visit to the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze, also popularly known as the Accademia Gallery. It was founded in 1794 with the aim of serving as a place of study for students at the nearby Academy of Fine Arts. If you appreciate this kind of artistic beauty, the Accademia Galleria is a must-see when visiting Florence.

Among the most famous pieces in this museum are Michelangelo’s David from 1501, the sculptures Prisoneiros, São Mateus and Pietá Palestrina by the same artist. O Rio de Janeiro é definitivamente uma das cidades mais famosas do Brasil e quando se fala sobre ela imediatamente lembramos do Pão de Açucar, da Praia de Copacabana e do Cristo Redentor. Mas, o Rio de Janeiro possui muitos outros atrativos interessantes, principalmente se você viaja com crianças. O Aquário do Rio de Janeiro ou AquaRio, como é conhecido, é uma dessas atrações.

Erich e eu estivemos no Rio de Janeiro recentemente e aproveitamos para visitar o Aquário. É um passeio muito interessante para crianças e para adultos. As pessoas interessadas em conhecer mais sobre as belezas dos oceanos vão apreciar bastante esse passeio. Eu acredito que esse tipo de passeio, além de prazeroso é uma aula de educação ambiental. Os visitantes saem de lá com o sentimento que todos nós somos responsáveis por proteger os mares e a vida marinha que habita lá.

Ele é considerado o maior aquário marinho da América do Sul e tem mais de 2 mil animais em exposição! O Aquário ocupa uma área de 26 mil m² de área construída e 4,5 milhões de litros de água!

O que mais me chamou a atenção e é considerado uma das maiores atrações desse aquário é o tanque principal chamado de Recinto Oceânico. Ele possui 3,5 milhões de litros de água, com sete metros de altura além disso possui um túnel que corta seu interior. Os visitantes adoram! Acho que é o lugar mais instagramável desse atrativo! É tão interessante atravessar esse túnel e apreciar os belos animais que estão em volta de você!

Além desse tanque principal, o Aquário possui 27 outros belos tanques secundários que encantam a todos que visitam esse lugar especial.

Agora uma dica: no local do Aquário existe também um Museu de Cera e vizinho ao prédio do Aquário encontra-se a Roda Gigante do Rio de Janeiro, outra atração bem especial!

Aber Rio de Janeiro hat viele andere interessante Attraktionen, besonders wenn Sie mit Kindern reisen. Das Rio de Janeiro Aquarium oder AquaRio, wie es genannt wird, ist eine dieser Attraktionen.

Erich und ich waren kürzlich wieder einmal in Rio de Janeiro und nutzten die Gelegenheit, um das Aquarium zu besuchen. Es ist ein sehr interessanter Ausflug für Kinder und Erwachsene. Menschen, die mehr über die Schönheiten der Ozeane erfahren möchten, werden diese Tour sehr zu schätzen wissen. Ich glaube, dass diese Art von Aktivität nicht nur angenehm ist, sondern auch eine Art Umweltbildungskurs darstellt. Die Besucher gehen dann mit dem Gefühl, dass wir alle für den Schutz der Meere und der dort lebenden Meereslebewesen verantwortlich sind.

Es gilt als das größte Meeresaquarium Südamerikas und beherbergt mehr als 2.000 Tiere! Das Aquarium beansprucht eine Fläche von 26.000 m2 mit 4,5 Millionen Liter Wasser!

Was meine Aufmerksamkeit am meisten auf sich zog und als eine der größten Attraktionen dieses Aquariums gilt, ist das Hauptbecken namens Recinto Oceânico. Es fasst 3,5 Millionen Liter Wasser, ist sieben Meter hoch und hat einen Tunnel, der sein Inneres durchschneidet. Die Besucher lieben dies sehr! Ich denke, es ist der instagrammwürdigste Ort dieser Attraktion!

Es ist sehr interessant, durch diesen Tunnel zu gehen und all die schönen Tiere zu genießen, die überall um dich herumschwimmen!

Neben diesem Hauptbecken verfügt das Aquarium über 27 weitere schöne Nebenbecken, die jeden begeistern, der diesen besonderen Ort besucht.

Jetzt noch ein Tipp: Beim Aquarium gibt es auch noch ein Wachsfigurenkabinett und neben dem Aquariumgebäude befindet sich auch das Riesenrad von Rio de Janeiro, eine weitere ganz besondere Attraktion!

Rio de Janeiro is definitely one of the most famous cities in Brazil and when we talk about it, we immediately think of Sugar Loaf, Copacabana Beach and Christ the Redeemer. But Rio de Janeiro has many other interesting attractions, especially if you are traveling with children. The Rio de Janeiro Aquarium, or AquaRio as it’s known, is one of those attractions.

Erich and I were recently in Rio de Janeiro again and took the opportunity to visit the aquarium. It is a very interesting excursion for both children and adults. People who want to learn more about the beauties of the oceans will greatly appreciate this tour. I believe that this type of activity is not only enjoyable, but also constitutes a kind of environmental education course. Visitors then leave feeling that we all have a responsibility to protect the oceans and the marine life in them.

It is considered the largest marine aquarium in South America and is home to more than 2,000 animals! The aquarium covers an area of 26,000 m2 with 4.5 million liters of water!
