Imagine uma cidadezinha que parece com um cenário de contos de fadas. Acrescente a isso, uma decoração natalina, um mercado de Natal com suas cores e sabores, além de um castelo: Quedlinburg, localizada no norte da Alemanha, nas proximidades das Montanhas do Harz, com aproximadamente 24.000 habitantes.
O castelo Quedlinburg tem cerca de 1.000 anos de idade e a cidade nunca foi destruída durante guerras ou sofreu com grandes incêndios, por isso, é tão bem preservada. Algumas edificações estão inclinadas, devido terem sido construídas em um solo relativamente “macio” formado principalmente de arenito.
Chegamos a Quedlinburg em uma tarde fria de inverno numa simples estação de trem. Um táxi nos deixou no nosso apartamento alugado no coração do centro histórico, aliás, área integrante da lista do Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO.
O conjunto arquitetônico da área antiga de Quedlinburg data de seis séculos passados, com mais de 1400 edificações construídas no estilo enxaimel (Fachwerk, em alemão), essa cidade é uma das mais bonitas da região do Harz, aliás, uma das mais espetaculares cidades da Alemanha.
Essa pérola urbana nos encanta pelas suas ruas estreitas, pelo seu casario antigo usados, principalmente, como hotéis, restaurantes, cafés, lojas charmosas (existe uma loja que vende somente diferente tipos de mostardas) e atraentes.
Para ter uma visão geral do centro histórico de Quedlinburg, caminhe até o seu castelo localizado no alto, onde existem um mirante, jardim, café, museu e uma catedral com seu tesouro litúrgico.
É a o melhor ponto para fotografar a cidade com seus telhados.
Quedlinburg é definitivamente uma atração imperdível no período natalino, quando os moradores abrem os pátios internos de suas casas e organizam pequenos mercados de Natal (conhecidos como “Advent in den Höfen em alemão) que funcionam nos quatro finais de semanas que antecedem o Natal e atraem milhares de turistas.
Quedlinburg atrai muitos turistas no verão, que chegam para apreciar a cidade e também para passear nos arredores da cidade, nas montanhas. A cidade recebe muitos visitantes nos finais de semana durante o ano inteiro.
Para quem gosta de passear em um cenário de contos de fadas, Quedlinburg é definitivamente uma atração nota dez da Alemanha.

QUEDLINBURG – EIN MÄRCHENSZENARIO
Stellen Sie sich eine kleine Stadt vor, die wie in einem Märchen aussieht. Dazu viel Weihnachtsdekoration, ein Weihnachtsmarkt mit all seinen Farben und Aromen und sogar ein Schloss: Quedlinburg, im Norden Deutschlands im Mittelgebirge des Harz gelegen mit seinen rund 24.000 Einwohnern.
Die Burg Quedlinburg ist etwa 1000 Jahre alt und die Stadt wurde nie während eines Krieges oder durch große Brände zerstört, deshalb ist sie so gut erhalten. Viele Gebäude erscheinen krum und schief, weil sie auf relativ “weichen” Sandsteinböden errichtet wurden.
Wir kamen an einem kalten Winternachmittag im kleinen Bahnhof von Quedlinburg an. Ein Taxi brachte uns zu unserer gemieteten Wohnung im Herzen des historischen Zentrums, welches zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört.
Der architektonische Komplex der Altstadt von Quedlinburg stammt aus den letzten sechs Jahrhunderten mit mehr als 1.400 erhaltenen Fachwerkgebäuden. Sie ist eine der schönsten im Harz und auch eine der spektakulärsten Altstädte Deutschlands.
Diese Kleinstadtperle verzaubert uns durch seine engen Gassen, und durch seine alten Häuser, die als Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés und charmante Geschäfte (es gibt sogar einen Laden, der nur verschiedenste Arten von Senf verkauft), sehr attraktiv einladend wirken.
Um einen Überblick über das historische Zentrum von Quedlinburg zu bekommen, gehen Sie am besten hoch zur Burg, wo es einen Aussichtsterasse, Garten, Café, Museum und einen Dom mit einem liturgischen Schatz gibt.
Es ist der beste Ort, um die Stadt mit ihren Dächern zu fotografieren.
Quedlinburg ist definitiv ein Muss in der Weihnachtszeit, wenn die Bewohner die Innenhöfe ihrer Häuser öffnen und kleine Weihnachtsmärkte (bekannt als “Advent in den Höfen”) organisieren, die an den vier Wochenenden vor Weihnachten stattfinden und dann Tausende von Touristen anziehen.
Aber auch im Sommer kommen sehr viele Touristen, um die Stadt zu genießen und in den Bergen in der Nähe zu wandern. Die Stadt empfängt das ganze Jahr über an Wochenenden sehr viele Tagesausflügler.
Für diejenigen, die wirklich gerne in einer märchenhaften Umgebung spazieren gehen wollen, ist Quedlinburg definitiv eine Attraktion für ganz Deutschland, Note 10.

QUEDLINBURG – A FAIRY TALE SCENARIO
Imagine a small town that looks like a fairy tale. In addition a lot of Christmas decoration, a Christmas market with all its colors and aromas and even a castle: Quedlinburg, located in the north of Germany in the medium high mountain range of the Harz with its approximately 24,000 inhabitants.
The castle Quedlinburg is about 1000 years old and the city was never destroyed during a war or by big fires, this why it is so well preserved. Many buildings appear crooked and awry because they were built on the relatively “soft” sandstone floors.
We arrived on a cold winter afternoon in the small station of Quedlinburg. A taxi took us to our rented apartment in the heart of the historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The architectural complex of the old town of Quedlinburg dates back to the last six centuries with more than 1,400 preserved half-timbered buildings. It is one of the most beautiful in the Harz and also one of the most spectacular old towns in Germany.
This gem of a town enchants us through its narrow streets and its old houses, which are very attractively inviting as hotels, restaurants, cafes and charming shops (there is even a shop that sells only various types of mustard).
To get an overview of the historic center of Quedlinburg go up to the castle, where there is a viewing terrace, garden, café, museum and a cathedral with a liturgical treasure.
It is the best place to photograph the city with its rooftops.
Quedlinburg is definitely a must at Christmas time when residents open the courtyards of their homes and organize small Christmas markets (known as “Advent in the Courtyards”) that take place on the four weekends before Christmas and then attract thousands of tourists.
But even in summer many tourists come to enjoy the city and to hike in the mountains nearby. The city receives very many day trippers at weekends throughout the year.
For those who really want to walk in a fairytale setting, Quedlinburg is definitely an attraction for all of Germany, grade 10.

Quando o período natalino está chegando, sempre me lembro dos belos Mercados de Natal existentes na Europa. Erich e eu visitamos alguns deles na Áustria e na Alemanha e compartilhamos algumas informações e imagens.
Se você planejar uma viagem para essa época do ano, vale a pena pesquisar na Internet o período de funcionamento dos mesmos, pois varia de uma cidade para outra e verificar a programação dos mesmos. Os mercados de Natal geralmente funcionam no centro da cidade, em uma das praças principais, nas proximidades da igreja, da prefeitura, como é o caso do grande mercado de Viena, que foi montado em frente à prefeitura.

Lá e como também em Berlim e em outras cidades grandes, existem mercados em diferentes bairros. É uma ótima opção de entretenimento para os dias frios e curtos do inverno europeu.

O que se encontra para comprar nesses mercados? Comidas típicas deliciosas, que enchem o ar de cheiros e fazem você ficar com água na boca, bebidas, principalmente o Glühwein, o vinho quente que é muito bem-vindo para aquecer nas baixas temperaturas, artesanato local, brinquedos, além de outros produtos, como gorros, cachecóis e luvas, por exemplo.
Há mercados que abrigam até uma área extra para barraquinhas com produtos de outros países, como é o caso do Mercado de Nurembergue.

Uma coisa eles têm em comum: cores, sabores e cheiros, além de uma atmosfera natalina que encanta.

Há locais, que além das barraquinhas, há opções de entretenimento para crianças, como por exemplo, a oficina de confecção de Lebkuchen, um tipo de pão de mel típico de Nurembergue, contação de estórias para crianças, shows de música, dentre outros. Há mercados, como o de Viena, que possui uma iluminação fantástica!
Os mercados de Natal nas cidades menores são também o ponto de encontro da população local. No caso de Quedlinburgo, por exemplo, que recebe uma imensa quantidade de turistas que vão apenas passar o dia, observamos que durante a noite, o público é reduzido ao povo da cidade que se confraternizam. Lá, além do Mercado de Natal montado na praça principal em frente a prefeitura, durante os quatro finais de semana que antecedem o Natal, conhecidos como os 4 finais de semana do Advento, são montados mercados especiais de Natal nos pátios internos de casas residenciais e eles são aberto ao público. Esses pátios, em alemão chamados de Höfe, contribuem para criar um clima natalino muito, muito especial. Quando visitamos Quedlinburgo, havia em torno de 20 desses mercados. A cidade fica lotada de turistas, é impressionante a quantidade de pessoas pelas ruas.

Uma dica: quanto menor a cidade, mais cedo o mercado encerra suas atividades. Por exemplo, no caso de Görlitz, o mercado funciona de 10 às 20 horas e está localizado no centro histórico, com suas casas barrocas, que aliás, já serviram de cenários para muitos filmes de época .

Immer wenn die Weihnachtszeit naht, erinnere ich mich an die schönen Weihnachtsmärkte in Europa. Erich und ich haben nun gerade einige von ihnen in Österreich und Deutschland besucht.
Wenn Sie eine Reise zu dieser Jahreszeit planen, dann lohnt es, sich im Internet sich nach dem genauen Beginn derselben zu erkundigen, da dieser von Stadt zu Stadt durchaus variieren kann.

Die Weihnachtsmärkte finden meist im Zentrum einer Stadt statt, an einem der Hauptplätze, in der Nähe von Kirchen oder dem Rathaus wie z.B. der eindrucksvolle Weihnachtsmarkt in Wien.

Sowohl in Berlin als auch in anderen Großstädten gibt es Märkte in den verschiedensten Stadtteilen. Es ist eine großartige Unterhaltungsoption für die kalten und kurzen Tage des europäischen Winters.

Was findet man auf diesen Märkten? Typische leckere Gerichte, die die Luft mit herrlichen Düften erfüllen und Sie auch mit köstlichen Getränken versorgen, vor allem all die Glühweinsorten, dieser warme Wein, der bei diesen niedrigen Temperaturen zum Aufwärmen sehr willkommen ist, man findet lokales Kunsthandwerk, Spielzeug neben vielen anderen Produkten wie zum Beispiel Hüte, Mützen, Pullover, Schals, Handschuhe und vieles mehr.
Es gibt auch Märkte, die einen extra Bereich für Stände mit Produkten aus den Partnerstädten aus anderen Ländern beherbergen, wie z.B. auf dem Nürnberger Markt.

Eines haben sie jedoch alle gemeinsam: viele Farben, unterschiedlichste Geschmacksrichtungen, Klänge und Düfte sowie eine weihnachtliche Atmosphäre, die einfach verzaubert.

Es gibt Orte, an denen neben den Ständen auch Unterhaltungsangebote für Kinder angeboten werden, wie z.B. eine Lebkuchen-Backwerkstatt, Geschichtenerzählen für Kinder, Musikshows usw.!
Es gibt Märkte wie z.B. der in Wien mit fantastischen Beleuchtungseffekten – ein Paradies nicht nur für Kinder!
Die Weihnachtsmärkte in kleineren Städten sind natürlich auch der Treffpunkt der lokalen Bevölkerung.
Im Falle von Quedlinburg zum Beispiel, das eine immense Anzahl von Touristen empfängt, die nur den Tag dort verbringen, konnten wir beobachten, dass das Besuchspublikum sich dann nachts mehr auf die Einheimischen reduziert, der Treff dann eben.
Neben dem Weihnachtsmarkt auf dem Hauptplatz vor dem Rathaus und in der gesamten Altstadt werden an den vier 4 Adventswochenenden ausgewählte Innenhöfe von Fachwerkhäusern der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht und verwandeln sich dann in unterschiedlichste, individuelle, spezielle zusätzliche Weihnachtsmärkte.
Diese Innen-Höfe-Märkte tragen dann eben zu dieser ganz besonderen berühmten Weihnachtsatmosphäre bei. Als wir Quedlinburg besuchten, gab es rund 20 solcher Innenhof-Märkte. Die Stadt ist dann voll von Touristen, beeindruckend die Menschenmassen dann in den Straßen bis selbst hinauf zur Burg.

Ein Tipp: Je kleiner eine Stadt um so eher schliesst sein Markt am Abend.
Im Falle von Görlitz beispielsweise ist der Markt von 10 bis 20 Uhr geöffnet. Er befindet sich im historischen Zentrum mit seiner Vielzahl an barocken Häusern, die schon oft als Kulisse für historische Filme dienten.

A tip: The smaller a city the sooner its market closes in the evening.
In the case of Görlitz for example the market is open from 10:00 to 20:00. It is located in the historic center with its multitude of Baroque houses that have often served as backdrops for historical films.

Um jardim botânico se visita, de forma geral, para conhecer, rever, aprender sobre espécies vegetais, não é mesmo? Mas, se estamos em um lugar com inverno rigoroso onde a maioria das plantas “hibernam” nessa época do ano, então não há interesse em se visitar um jardim botânico no inverno. Porém, em Berlim, esse raciocínio funciona de forma diferente. Sim, há interesse sim, em visitar o Jardim Botânico de Berlim durante o inverno, mas, precisamente no período de 16/11/2017 à 07/01/2018 porque é nesse período que o lugar se enche de cores, luzes e sons.
Quando entardece o show mágico de luzes coloridas inicia.
Esse espetáculo imperdível acontece no período natalino. Erich e eu visitamos o local em dezembro de 2017 e nos encantamos com a criatividade dos artistas que conceberam o projeto e com a beleza do show de luzes.
De acordo com a informação obtida no local, esse evento foi inspirado em algo semelhante que acontece em Londres.
Se você estiver planejando uma visita à Berlim no período natalino, inclua visitar essa maravilha. Recomendo que visite o site do Jardim Botânico e verifique detalhes sobre essa programação. Procure comprar o ticket pela Internet para não ficar em filas. O valor do ingresso é de 17, 00 euros, há desconto para crianças e pessoas a partir dos 65 anos.
Outra dica: se você gosta de fotografias, vale a pena levar um tripé para fazer belas fotos e participar do concurso fotográfico promovido pela instituição.
É importante ir com roupas bem aquecidas porque o tempo todo você vai estar caminhando em um circuito de 2 km, ao ar livre. Há barraquinha com venda de bebidas quentes.
O show realmente impressiona pela concepção do lay out da exposição e com os motivos artísticos utilizados no projeto luminotécnico, como o túnel de luz e as flores que mudam de cores.

MAGISCHER GARTEN DER LICHTER IN BERLIN
Einen botanischen Garten besucht man in der Regel, um das Wissen über Pflanzenarten zu erweitern, nicht wahr? Aber wenn wir nun an einem Ort mit strengem Winter sind, in dem die meisten Pflanzen zu dieser Jahreszeit “überwintern”, dann besteht wohl kein Interesse daran, einen botanischen Garten zu besuchen.
In Berlin funktioniert diese Argumentation jedoch anders. Ja, es gibt ein Interesse daran, den Botanischen Garten in Berlin im Winter zu besuchen, aber genau nur in der Zeit vom 11/11/2017 bis zum 7/01/2018, denn während dieser Zeit ist dieser Ort voller Farben, Lichter und Klänge.
Wenn es dunkel wird, beginnt die magische Show der bunten Lichter.
Dieses unvergessliche Spektakel geschieht um die Weihnachtszeit. Erich und ich haben den Ort im Dezember 2017 besucht und waren begeistert von der Kreativität der Künstler, die das Projekt konzipiert haben, und von der Schönheit der Lichtershow.
Informationen zufolge wurde dieser Event durch eine ähnliche Veranstaltung in London inspiriert und nachempfunden.

Die Lichtershow besticht durch die Gestaltung des Ausstellungslayouts und die künstlerischen Motive der Lichtprojekte wie zum Beispiel den Tunnel aus Licht und vielen Blumen, welche die Farben wechseln.

MAGICAL GARDEN OF LIGHTS IN BERLIN
A botanical garden is usually visited to expand the knowledge about plant species, right? But if we are now in a harsh winter, when most plants “overwinter” at this time of the year, then there is probably no interest in visiting a botanical garden.
In Berlin however this argument works differently. Yes, there is an interest in visiting the Botanical Garden in the wintertime, but only in the period from 11/11/2017 to 7/01/2018, because during this time this place is full of colors, lights and sounds.
When it gets dark, the magical show of colorful lights begins.
This unforgettable spectacle happens around the Christmas time. Erich and I visited the place in December 2017 and we liked very much the creativity of the artists who designed the project and the beauty of the lightshow.
According to our information this event was inspired and modeled by a similar event in London.
If you are planning a visit to Berlin during the Christmas season, visit this wondrous splendor. I recommend you to visit the Botanical Garden website for more details. Also try to buy the ticket through the internet so you do not have to queue like us. The price of the ticket is 17 Euro, there is a discount for children and persons over 65 years.
Another tip: If you want to take photos you should take a tripod with you to be able to make beautiful photos and on the other handside possibly take part in the advertised photo contest.
It is very important to wear warm clothes as you are walking all the time on a 2 km circuit outdoors and thus in the cold. However, there is also a snack bar with welcoming hot drinks on the way.
The lightshow impresses with the design of the exhibition layout and the artistic motives of the light projects, such as the tunnel of light and the many flowers which change the colors.

Não foi a nossa primeira visita a Nuremberg, mas desta vez queríamos nos concentrar no mundialmente famoso Mercado de Natal de Crianças (Christkindlesmarkt).
Nós já fomos uma vez nesta metrópole da Francônia pertencente ao Estado Livre da Baviera
com cerca de 500 mil habitantes e reconhecida pela ótima qualidade de vida. Ficamos muito impressionados com a atmosfera do centro histórico, seu emblema do Kaiserburg, a muralha da cidade velha,
seus prédios históricos,
telhados,
casas estilo enxaimel,
Igrejas, torres, fontes,
pontes e museus.
Sem mencionar o fato de que durante o período do nacional-socialismo Nuremberg foi usad pelos nacional-socialistas como uma “cidade dos comícios do partido nazista” e propaganda nacional-socialista. A partir de novembro de 1945 foram realizados nessa cidade os julgamentos dos principais criminosos nazistas.
Portanto, planeje visitar o Christkindlesmarkt com tempo suficiente para obter uma impressão geral desta cidade, de preferência,programe um fim de semana relaxante.
Mas agora é a hora de mergulhar neste Mercado de Natal e dividir com vocês algumas impressões visuais – além dos cheiros, aromas, odores, fragrâncias, músicas e sons…um sonho de Natal…!!

Nürnberg – weltberühmter Christkindlesmarkt
Es war nicht unser erster Besuch in Nürnberg, aber dieses Mal sollte vor allem der weltberühmte Christkindlesmarkt im Mittelpunkt stehen.
Wir waren schon einmal in dieser fränkischen Metropole des Freistaates Bayern
mit seinen etwa 500.000 Einwohnern und anerkannter hoher Lebensqualität und waren schon damals sehr angetan von der Atmosphäre in der Altstadt, seinem Wahrzeichen der Kaiserburg, der alten Stadtmauer,
seinen historischen Gebäuden,
Dächern,
Fachwerkhäusern,
Kirchen, Türmen, Brunnen,
Brücken undMuseen.
Nicht unerwähnt sollte die Tatsache sein, daβ während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus Nürnberg von den Nationalsozialisten als „Stadt der Reichsparteitage“ und nationalsozialistischer Propaganda miβbraucht wurde. Ab November 1945 fanden dann hier aber auch die Nürnberger Prozesse gegen führende Kriegsverbrecher der nationalsozialistischen Diktatur statt.
Planen Sie also für einen Besuch des Christkindlesmarktes auch genügend Zeit dafür ein, einen Gesamteindruck von dieser lebenswerten Stadt bekommen zu können, am besten ein entspanntes Wochenende.
Nun aber ist es an der Zeit in diesen Christkindlesmarkt einzutauchen und Ihnen zumindest visuelle Eindrücke davon zu vermitteln – von den Gerüchen, Düften, Aromen, Musiken und Geräuschen ganz abgesehen…ein Weihnachtstraum…!!

Nuremberg – world famous Christkindlesmarkt
It was not our first visit to Nuremberg, but this time we wanted to focus on the world-famous Christkindlesmarkt.
We were once in this Franconian metropolis of the Free State of Bavaria
with its approximately 500,000 inhabitants and recognized its high quality of life and we were already very impressed by the atmosphere in the old town, its emblem of the Kaiserburg, the old city wall,
its historic buildings,
roofs,
half-timbered houses,
churches, towers, fountains,
bridges and museums.
Not to mention the fact that during the period of National Socialism Nuremberg was used by the National Socialists as a “city of the Nazi party rallies” and National Socialist propaganda. From November 1945, however, the Nuremberg trials against leading war criminals of the National Socialist dictatorship took place here as well.
So plan enough time to visit the Christkindlesmarkt to get an overall impression of this liveable city, preferably a relaxing weekend.
But now is the time to immerse yourself in this Christkindlesmarkt and to give you at least visual impressions of it – apart from the smells, scents, flavors, music and sounds…a Christmas dream…!!

Nesse post, trato sobre o Vale do Douro, uma das paisagens mais espetaculares que Erich e eu já vimos nas nossas andanças pelo mundo.
Se você planejar uma viagem à cidade de Porto, recomendo que inclua no seu roteiro o Vale do Douro. Trata-se de uma região denominada “Alto Douro Vinhateiro”considerada Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO.
Há passeios de um dia a essa região, tipo “bate-volta”, saindo do Porto. Porém, o melhor, em minha opinião, é alugar um carro e descobrir a região devagar, parando onde você achar conveniente, pois a área é pontilhada por muitos vilarejos charmosos.
As estradas são estreitas e ladeadas pelo verde da vegetação e pelo colorido das flores que são abundantes na primavera (viajamos no final de maio), começo da alta estação turística.
Chegamos na região através da cidade de Vila Real e a partir daí começamos a apreciar paisagens deslumbrantes.
O grande cenário é constituído pelo vale formado pelas montanhas, que abrigam muitas quintas e pequenas cidades. Algumas dessas quintas também recebem hóspedes, para quem busca um cenário de paz e beleza, é um destino recomendado.
Se você alugar um carro, fique atento (a) quando estiver conduzindo o veículo, as estradas são estreitas, com muitas curvas. Há mirantes de onde se descortina vistas espetaculares. Há um sobe e desce contínuo. Pinhão e Peso da Régua são cidades recomendadas para se hospedar. É de lá que saem os passeios de barco pelo Rio Douro.
O passeio principal nessa região é o que inclui visita à quinta, com degustação de vinho, passeio de barco e almoço. Pode se fazer o passeio de meio ou um dia completo que custa em torno de 40 a 80 euros por pessoa. A região é propícia para quem busca tranquilidade, bons vinhos e comidas deliciosas. Os portugueses do norte de Portugal são simpáticos e recebem muito bem os turistas.

VALE DO DOURO – BLUMEN UND WEIN
Portugal ist ein Touristenziel mit großartigen Möglichkeiten für angenehme Ausflüge.
Das Land offeriert fünf touristische Regionen auf dem Kontinent: der Norden, das Zentrum, Lissabon, Alentejo und Algarve.
In diesem Beitrag beschäftige ich mich mit dem Douro-Tal, einer der spektakulärsten Landschaften, die Erich und ich auf unseren Reisen rund um die Welt gesehen haben.
Falls Sie eine Reise in die Stadt Porto planen, dann empfehle ich Ihnen, das Vale do Douro -Tal unbedingt in Ihre Reiseroute mitaufzunehmen. Es ist die Region namens “Alto Douro Vinhateiro”, von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt.
Es gibt Tagesausflüge in diese Region von Porto ausgehend. Aber meiner Meinung nach ist es das Beste, ein Auto zu mieten und diese Landschaft in aller Ruhe zu erkunden, um dort anzuhalten wo Sie es wollen, dieser Gegend mit den vielen bezaubernden Dörfern.
Die Straßen sind schmal und flankiert vom Grün der Vegetation und all den bunten Blumen, die im Frühling so reichlich vorhanden sind, wir sind Ende Mai gereist zu Beginn der Hochsaison.
Wir erreichten diese Region via die Stadt Vila Real und fortan begannen wir diese atemberaubenden Landschaften zu genieβen.
Das groβartige Szenario setzt sich aus dem Tal, den Bergen, den vielen Bauernhöfen und kleinen Dörfern zusammen. Einige dieser Farmen beherbergen auch Gäste, für diejenigen, die eine Atmosphäre von Frieden, Ruhe und Schönheit suchen, ist es ein wirklich empfehlenswertes Ziel.
Falls Sie ein Auto mieten, bleiben Sie aufmerksam beim Fahren, die Straßen sind eng und mit vielen Kurven. Unterwegs gibt es immer wieder Rastmöglichkeiten mit spektakulären Aussichten. Die Fahrt führt ständig bergauf und bergab. Pinhão und Peso da Régua sind empfehlenswerte kleine Städtchen. Von dort starten dann auch die Ausflugsschiffe auf dem Fluss Douro.
Die Haupttour in dieser Regio beinhaltet den Besuch eines Bauernhofes/Winzers mit Weinproben, Bootsfahrten und Mittagessen. Sie können einen Halbtages- oder Ganztagesausflug buchen, was dann etwa 40 bis 80 Euro pro Person kostet. Diese Regio ist ideal für diejenigen, die Ruhe, gute Weine und leckeres Essen suchen. Die Portugiesen hier im Norden des Landes sind auβerdem sehr freundlich und empfangen die Touristen sehr herzlich.

VALE DO DOURO – FLOWERS AND WINE
Portugal is a tourist destination with great opportunities for pleasant trips.
The country offers five tourist regions in the continent: the north, the center, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve.
In this article I will talk about the Douro Valley, one of the most spectacular landscapes Erich and I have seen on our travels around the world.
If you are planning a trip to the city of Porto I recommend to you to take the Vale do Douro into your travel route. It is the region called “Alto Douro Vinhateiro“, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are one day trips going out into this region from Porto. But in my opinion it is best to rent a car and explore this countryside in peace, to stop where you want, in this area with so many charming villages.
The streets are narrow and flanked by the greenery of the vegetation and all the colorful flowers that are so abundant in spring, we have traveled in late May at the beginning of the high season.
We reached in this region via the city of Vila Real and from then on we began to enjoy these breathtaking landscapes.
The great scenario is composed of the valley, the mountains, the many farms and small villages. Some of these farms also accommodate guests, this is for those seeking for an atmosphere of peace, tranquility and beauty, it is a truly recommended destination.
If you rent a car stay attentive while driving as the roads are narrow and with lots of curves. On the way around there are always resting places with spectacular views. Maiorca é uma ilha espanhola localizada no Arquipélago das Ilhas Baleares e sua capital é Palma de Maiorca. É um destino muito procurado por turistas europeus. Maiorca é a maior ilha do arquipélago.
Stefano, filho de Erich, fez uma viagem pela ilha juntamente com amigos. Um desses amigos, viveu na ilha, Luis, e ele comentou um pouco sobre a ilha, além de nos passar dicas legais para quem vai visitar Maiorca. Vou dividir com vocês algumas dessas informações.

Primeiro, é importante alugar um carro. Você pode circular por Palma usando transporte público, mas, se quiser visitar outros lugares na ilha, você vai perder muito tempo, por isso, definitivamente é importante alugar um carro. Luis, que já viajou várias vezes com amigos pela ilha, selecionou os principais atrativos que ele sempre visita: Cabo de Formentor, Serra de Tramuntana, Sa Calobra e Port de Soller, algumas cidades na planície, Cavernas do Dragão e Palma de Maiorca, dentre outros.
É no Cabo de Formentor de onde se faz uma foto clássica, tem uma área chamada “Mirador de es Colomer” onde todos os turistas param para fazer a foto.
Vale a pena uma parada lá. Mas, cinco minutos desse ponto, tem uma vista melhor (veja no mapa como chegar lá).
Ainda no Cabo de Formentor você pode visitar a praia “Cala Formentor”. É a praia que você pode ver do local chamado “Talaia d´Albercutx”.
Para chegar lá, você deve seguir a estrada que vai do terraço “Es Colomer” que mencionei anteriormente ao farol de Formentor (veja o mapa acima). A praia fica em algum lugar no meio. Tenha em mente que, a menos que você encontre um local para estacionar na estrada, o estacionamento privado pode ser um pouco caro (9 €). Bem pertinho de Formentor, você vai encontrar outra praia muito bonita, é a “Cala Sant Vicenc”.
As montanhas da Serra de Tramuntana e suas aldeias foram declaradas Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO há alguns anos e segundo Luis, é área favorita dele. Elas seguem o litoral norte da Ilha. E há muitas cidades com suas pequenas praias que merecem ser visitadas. Ele marcou no mapa, as cidades que são as mais agradáveis na opinião dele, com as setas vermelhas. Você pode visita-las, uma após a outra, simplesmente seguindo a estrada que passa pelo mar e de onde você verá excelentes vistas da costa.
As montanhas de Tramuntana também são um ótimo lugar para trekking . Para “Sa Calobra” e Port de Soller (setas azuis), Luis recomenda dedicar um dia diferente (veja o ponto número 3).
“Sa Calobra” é uma pequena praia, situada no final de um riacho que está seco a maior parte do ano. Está localizada nas Montanhas Tramuntana. O que o torna realmente especial e espetacular é que essa praia está situada entre dois paredões de pedra altas e verticais. Se você for visitar essa praia, Luis recomenda que você procure chegar cedo lá devido a dois motivos: evitar a grande quantidade de turistas que chegam ao meio dia e você poderá encontrar lugar para estacionar fora do estacionamento privado, que é muito caro. Sa Calobra é também um lugar para se fazer trekking.
Além disso, a estrada que liga as cidadezinhas tem vistas panorâmicas. Ele recomenda uma parada na antiga torre de relógio chamada “Torre del Verger” (entre Banyalbufar e Estellencs).
Valldemossa, com suas ruas estreitas agradáveis e sua famosa casa “charter”, onde Chopin e George Sand passaram uma temporada de inverno.
Não perca a chance de experimentar a famosa “coca de patata”, um pão doce regional típico desta cidade. Você pode comprar um realmente bom de uma padaria chamada “Ca’n Molinas” no centro da cidade.
Outro belo vilarejo: Banyalbufar, com suas áreas de cultivo.
Sant Elm era uma vila de pescadores, com uma praia tranquila.
Você também pode desfrutar de belas vistas da Ilha “Sa Dragonera”, a maior ilha que você avista da parte norte da cidade e do terraço “La Trapa”, que é um mirante de onde você fazer belas fotos. Você pode chegar lá caminhando (cerca de 1 hora e meia de caminhada)pela montanha Sant Elm. As vistas durante o pôr do sol são incríveis.
Depois de “As Calobra”, você pode almoçar em Fornalutx ou Soller. São duas cidadezinhas charmosas. Porém, recomendo que procure chegar em Port Soller, um porto natural localizado em uma baía estreita, antes do por do sol.
Luiz recomenda também visitar algumas cidades: Capdepera, nas proximidades há uma bela praia chamada “Cala de s’Aguila”, Artà, Alcudia.

Outro atrativo muito interessante é chamado de Cavernas do Dragão (Coves del Drach) localizadas perto de Porto Cristo. Reserva uma manhã para visita-las. Depois da visita, você pode ir para as praias próximas ou uma das cidades que foram indicadas anteriormente.
No mesmo dia, você pode ir a praia “Es Trenc’, localizada perto da cidade de “Colonia de Sant Jordi”. Es Trenc é uma longa praia, a segunda maior de Mallorca. Luis recomenda ficar na parte chamada “Ses Covetes”, que é uma das mais bonitas áreas. A praia tem muitos bunkers da Guerra Civil Espanhola, mas, elas estão atualmente pintadas e decoradas.
A Ilha de Maiorca é definitivamente um reduto de muitas belezas.

MALLORCA – EINE SCHÖNE INSEL

Mallorca ist eine spanische Insel des Balearen Archipels und seine Hauptstadt ist Palma de Mallorca. Es ist ein beliebtes Ziel für europäische Touristen. Mallorca ist die größte Insel im Archipel.
Stefano, Sohn von Erich, machte eine Reise auf der Insel mit Freunden. Einer dieser Freunde lebte auf der Insel, Luis, und er kommentierte ein bisschen über die Insel, außerdem gab er uns coole Tipps für jeden, der Mallorca besuchen möchte.

Wichtig ist es, ein Auto zu mieten. Sie können Palma leicht mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln bereisen, aber falls Sie weitere Orte auf der Insel besuchen möchten, dann verlieren Sie viel Zeit, also ist es definitiv wichtig, ein Auto zu mieten.
Luis, der mehrmals mit Freunden auf der Insel gereist ist, hat die Hauptattraktionen ausgewählt, die er dann immer besucht: Cabo de Formentor, Serra de Tramuntana, Sa Calobra und Port de Soller, einige Städte in der Ebene, die Höhlen des Drachen und Palma de Mallorca unter anderen.
Es ist in Cabo de Formentor, wo ein klassisches Foto aufgenommen wird, der Ort hat einen Aussichtspunkt namens “Mirador de es Colomer”, des alle Touristen besuchen.
Es ist einen Halt wert. Aber, fünf Minuten von diesem Punkt haben Sie einen noch besseren Blick (siehe Karte, wie man dorthin kommt).
Auch in Cabo de Formentor können Sie den Strand “Cala Formentor” besuchen. Es ist der Strand, den man von dem Ort “Talaia d’Albercutx” sehen kann.
Um dorthin zu gelangen, musst man der Straße folgen ausgehend von der Terrasse “Es Colomer”, die ich vorher bezüglich dem Leuchtturm von Formentor erwähnt habe (siehe Karte oben). Der Strand liegt irgendwo in der Mitte. Denken Sie daran, daß, wenn Sie keinen Platz finden, um auf der Straße zu parken, private Parkplätze ein bisschen teuer sein können (9 €). Ganz in der Nähe von Formentor, finden Sie einen anderen sehr schönen Strand, den “Cala Sant Vicenc”.
Die Berge von „Serra de Tramuntana“ und seine Dörfer wurden vor ein paar Jahren zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO erklärt und nach Luis ist es seine Lieblingsregio. Sie folgen der Nordküste der Insel. Und es gibt viele Städte mit ihren kleinen Stränden, die es verdient haben, besucht zu werden.
Er markierte auf der Karte die Städte, die seiner Meinung nach die schönsten sind, mit den roten Pfeilen. Sie können sie besuchen, eine nach dem anderen, einfach der Straße folgen, die am Meer entlangführt und man kann herrliche Blicke auf die Küste genieβen.
Die Tramuntana Berge sind auch ein großartiger Ort für Trekking-Touren (folgen Sie den Link für einige Routen http://serradetramuntana.eu/).
Für “Sa Calobra” und Port de Soller (blaue Pfeile) empfiehlt Luis, einen anderen Tag zu widmen (siehe Punkt 3).
Darüber hinaus offeriert die Straße, die diese kleinen Städte verbindet, Panoramablicke. Er empfiehlt einen Halt am alten Uhrturm namens “Torre del Verger” (zwischen Banyalbufar und Estellencs).
Valldemossa mit seinen angenehmen engen Gassen und seinem berühmten Charter Haus, wo Chopin und George Sand eine Wintersaison verbrachten.
Verpassen Sie auch nicht die Chance, den berühmten “Coca de Potata” zu probieren, ein regionales Süßbrot, das typisch für diese Stadt ist. Sie können ein wirklich gutes in der Bäckerei namens “Ca’n Molinas” im Zentrum der Stadt kaufen.
Ein weiteres schönes Dorf ist Banyalbufar mit seinen Anbauflächen.
Sant Elm war ein Fischerdorf mit einem sehr ruhigen Strand.
Sie können dort auch eine herrliche Aussicht auf die Insel “Sa Dragonera” genießen, die größte Insel, die man vom nördlichen Teil der Stadt und der Terrasse “La Trapa” sehen kann.
“La Trapa” ist ein Aussichtspunkt von wo aus man schöne Fotos machen kann und man kann zu Fuß gehen (ca. 1 und eine halbe Stunde zu Fuß von Sant Elm aus, weitere Infos: http://www.senderosdemallorca.com/rutas/ficha.de.html? cr = 31)) Die Aussicht während des Sonnenunterganges ist unglaublich.
“Sa Calobra” ist ein kleiner Strand, der am Ende eines Baches liegt, der die meiste Zeit des Jahres ausgetrocknet ist. Das Dorf liegt in den Tramuntana-Bergen. Die Strandzugangstraße hat spektakuläre Aussichten.
Luis empfiehlt, daβ Sie versuchen aus zwei Gründen früh zu kommen: Vermeiden Sie die große Anzahl von Touristen, die mittags ankommen, und finden Sie einen Platz zum Parken außerhalb des privaten Parkplatzes, was sehr teuer ist. Sa Calobra ist auch ein Ort zum Trekking.
Nach “As Calobra” können Sie in Fornalutx oder Soller zu Mittag essen. Das sind zwei charmante kleine Städte. Allerdings empfehle ich Ihnen Port Soller, einen natürlichen Hafen in einer engen Bucht, und zwar vor dem Sonnenuntergang.
Luiz empfiehlt auch, einige weitere Städte zu besuchen wie: Capdepera, in der Nähe befindet sich ein schöner Strand namens “Cala de s’Aguila”, Artà, Alcudia.

Eine weitere interessante Attraktion sind die Cavernas do Dragão (Drachen-Höhlen) in der Nähe von Porto Cristo. Planen Sie einen Vormittag, um sie zu besuchen. Anschlieβend können Sie einen der nahe gelegenen Strände oder eine der schon erwähnten Städte besuchen.
Am gleichen Tag können Sie noch an den Strand “Es Trenc” gehen in der Nähe der Stadt “Colonia de Sant Jordi”. Es Trenc ist ein langer Strand, der zweitgrößte auf Mallorca.
Luis empfiehlt in dem Teil namens “Ses Covetes” zu bleiben, einer der schönsten Gegenden. Der Strand hat viele Bunker aus dem Spanischen Bürgerkrieg, aber sie sind derzeit bunt bemalt und dekoriert.
Die Insel Mallorca ist definitiv eine Hochburg vieler Schönheiten.

MALLORCA – A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND

Mallorca is a Spanish island of the Balearic archipelago and its capital is Palma de Mallorca. It is a popular destination for European tourists. Mallorca is the largest island in the archipelago.
Stefano, son of Erich, made a trip on the island with friends. One of these friends lived on the island, Luis, and he commented a bit about the island, as well as giving us cool tips for anyone who wants to visit Mallorca.

It is important to rent a car. You can easily travel in Palma by public transport, but if you want to visit other places on the island, you will lose a lot of time, so it is definitely important to rent a car.
Luis, who has traveled several times with friends on the island, has selected the main attractions, which he always visits: Cabo de Formentor, Serra de Tramuntana, Sa Calobra and Port de Soller, some cities in the plain, the caves of the Dragon and Palma de Mallorca among others.
It is located in Cabo de Formentor, where a classic photo is taken, the place has a viewpoint called “Mirador de es Colomer”, which is visited by all tourists.
It’s worth a stop. But five minutes from this point you have an even better view (see map how to get there).
Also in Cabo de Formentor you can visit the beach “Cala Formentor”. It is the beach, which can be seen from a place called “Talaia d’Albercutx”.
To get there follow the road going out from the terrace “Es Colomer”, which I mentioned before regarding the lighthouse of Formentor (see map above). The beach is somewhere in the middle. Remember that if you find no place to park on the street, private parking can be a bit expensive (9 €). Very close to Formentor, you will find another very beautiful beach, the “Cala Sant Vicenc”.
The mountains of “Serra de Tramuntana” and its villages were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site a few years ago and, according to Luis, it is his favorite region. By following the north coast of the island you find many small cities with their beaches worthfile to be visited.
Luis marked on the map the towns, which he thought were the most beautiful, with the red arrows. You can visit them, one by one, just follow the road that runs along the coast and you can enjoy splendid views of the coast.
The Tramuntana mountains are also a great place for trekking tours (follow the link for some routes http://serradetramuntana.eu/).
For “Sa Calobra” and Port de Soller (blue arrows), Luis recommends another day (see point 3).
The road connecting these small towns offers many panoramic views. He recommends a stop at the old clock tower called “Torre del Verger” (between Banyalbufar and Estellencs).
Valldemossa with its pleasant narrow streets and its famous charter house, where Chopin and George Sand spent a winter season.
Do not miss the opportunity to try the famous “Coca de Potata”, a regional sweet bread typical of this town. You can buy a really good one at the bakery called “Ca’n Molinas” in the city center.
Another beautiful village is Banyalbufar with its cultivation areas.
Sant Elm was a fishing village with a very quiet beach.
You can also enjoy a beautiful view of the island “Sa Dragonera”, the largest island you can see from the northern part of the town and the terrace “La Trapa”.
“La Trapa” is a lookout from where you can take beautiful photos and you can walk (about 1 and a half hour from Sant Elm, more info: http://www.senderosdemallorca.com/rutas/ficha.de .html? cr = 31)) The view during the sunset is incredible.
“Sa Calobra” is a small beach at the mouth of a creek that is dried up most of the year. The village is located in the Tramuntana mountains. The beach access road offers spectacular views.
Luis recommends that you try to arrive there early for two reasons: Avoid the large number of tourists arriving at noon, and find a place to park outside the private carparking, which is very expensive. Sa Calobra is also a good place for trekking.
After “Sa Calobra” you can have lunch in Fornalutx or Soller. These are two charming small towns. However, I recommend you Port Soller, a natural harbor in a narrow bay, and, arrive before sunset.
Luiz also recommends to visit some other towns such as: Capdepera near a beautiful beach called “Cala de s’Aguila”, Artà, Alcudia.

Another interesting attraction are the Coves del Drach (Dragon Caves) near Porto Cristo. Plan a morning to visit them. Afterwards you can visit one of the nearby beaches or one of the already mentioned small towns.
On the same day you might still go to the beach “Es Trenc” near the town “Colonia de Sant Jordi”. Es Trenc is a long beach, the second largest on Mallorca.
Luis recommends staying in the part called “Ses Covetes”, one of the most beautiful areas. The beach has many bunkers from the Spanish Civil War, but they are currently painted and decorated colorful.
The island of Mallorca is definitely a stronghold of many beauties.

São muitas as opções de lazer e férias nessa região. Eu recomendo três dias e duas noites, tempo suficiente para aproveitar muitas das diversas opções de lazer da região da Alsácia.
Nosso roteiro nos conduzirá de Estrasburgo através de Obernai e Riquewihr, na Alsácia, para Gerardmer, nas proximidades de Lorraine.
Reserve um dia para Estrasburgo. A catedral de Estrasburgo, localizada no centro dessa cidade cultural da Alsácia, é uma das mais importantes da Europa.

O Parlamento Europeu, o Conselho da Europa e o Tribunal Europeu dos Direitos Humanos estão localizados em Estrasburgo.
Outro dia será destinado a Geradmer, localizada a 130 km de Estrasburgo. O percurso é pontilhado de muitos lugares interessantes que vão tornar seu dia uma experiência muito agradável.
Distante apenas 25 km de Estrasburgo, visitamos Obernai, cidadezinha com 10 000 habitantes localizada em uma planície na parte alta do Rio Reno.

O que me fascina sempre nesse lugar é o Mercado de Natal, além da variedade e beleza da decoração da cidade nessa época do ano combinada com as casas em estilo enxaimel, além do centro histórico muito bem preservado.
A próxima para é Riquewihr, para mim, é o máximo, para Marcia, é uma cidade medieval inserida de forma harmoniosa e completa entre os vinhedos das montanhas dos Vosges.

Es gibt unzählige Freizeit- und Urlaubsmöglichkeiten in dieser Region, ich möchte mich hier auf nur eine Variante von 3 Tagen und 2 Übernachtungen konzentrieren, die viel Abwechslung offeriert.
Unsere Fahrt wird uns von Straβburg über Obernai und Riquewhire im Elsass schlieβlich nach Geradmer im benachbarten Lothringen führen.
Nehmen Sie sich einen Tag Zeit um sich ganz in Ruhe Straβburg anzusehen. Das Straßburger Münster im Zentrum der elsässischen Kulturstadt zählt zu einer der bedeutendsten Kathedralen in Europa.

Die Entfernung am nächsten Tag bis nach Geradmer beträgt nur etwa 130 km, aber vieles Sehenswertes lassen den ganzen Tag zum Erlebnis werden.
Etwa 25 Kilometer südwestlich von Straßburg besuchen wir Obernai mit seinen etwa 10.000 Einwohnern in der Oberrheinebene. Was mich hier immer wieder fasziniert ist einmal der Weihnachtsmarkt, aber v.a. auch die Vielfalt und Schönheit der Dekorationen in Verbindung mit der schon fantastischen Fachwerkstruktur der sehr gut erhaltenen Altstadt.

Den nächsten Stop machen wir in Riquewihr,für mich ein Superlativ, für Marcia ein kleines mittelalterliches Dorf, das wie gemalt und komplett erhalten in die Weinhänge der Vogesen harmonisch eingefügt wurde.

Die letzte Etappe an diesem Tag führt uns dann durch die bewaldeten Berge der Südvogesen nach Gérardmer mit seinen idyllischen Badeseen.
Gérardmer wird auch die “Perle der Vogesen” genannt und auch als Skigebiet beliebt.

Our trip will lead us from Strasbourg via Obernai and Riquewhire in Alsace to Geradmer in the neighboring Lorraine.

The European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights are located in the European quarter.
The distance to Geradmer the next day is only about 130 km, but a lot of places of interest make the whole day an experience.
About 25 kilometers southwest of Strasbourg we visit Obernai with its 10,000 inhabitants in the Upper Rhine Plain. What fascinates me here again and again is the Christmas market, but also the variety and beauty of the decorations in combination with the already fantastic half-timbered structure of the very well-preserved old town.

The next stop is in Riquewihr, for me a unique superlative, for Marcia a small medieval village, which has been inserted harmoniously and completely into the vineyards of the Vosges.

The last stage on this day will lead us through the wooded mountains of the southern Vosges to Gérardmer with its idyllic bathing lakes.

Passau é centro universitário e uma antiga cidade episcopal com 50.000 habitantes na Baviera. Ela está localizada na fronteira com a Áustria, bem como na confluência dos rios Danúbio, Inn e Ilz e é, portanto, também chamado do “a cidade dos três rios”. Devido a esta localização é também muitas vezes chamada de “a cidade flutuante”.
A localização fantástica de Passau atrai muitos turistas nacionais e estrangeiros todos os anos. A indústria de cruzeiros que navegam pelos rios desempenha um papel importante na economia local.
Cerca de 2000 curzeiros navegam nos três rios todos os anos. Vale a pena mencionar também a famosa ciclovia Inn e Donau, onde muitos dos turistas que chegam a Passau de bicicleta têm a capital austríaca, Viena, como seu objetivo.
A localização entre os três rios causou graves inundações e a que ocorreu em 2013 alcançou a marca histórica de 12,89 metros acima do nível do mar – foi o chamada a “enchente do milênio”.

Nós chegamos a Passau de trem. A cidade velha em si vale a pena visitar, há atrações interessantes que vale a pena visitar a pé e de barco.
Na cidade velha há também muitos becos estreitos, que convidam você para passeios e sempre você se depara com um dos rios e então você diz: de novo…??
A Catedral St. Stephan é fascinante com os edifícios barrocos nos arredores. Possuí uma acústica incrível, além de um dos maiores órgãos do mundo.
Do navio você pode ver belas vistas da cidade velha, as torres, do Veste Oberhaus, antiga fortaleza situada do lado esquerdo do Danúbio, (em frente a cidade velha de Passau), e, claro, a confluência dos três rios que tornam Passau tão famosa.

PASSAU – DIE DREIFLÜSSESTADT
Passau ist eine Universitätsstadt und alte Bischofsstadt mit 50.000 Einwohnern in Bayern. Sie liegt an der Grenze zuÖsterreichsowie am Zusammenfluss der FlüsseDonau,InnundIlzund wird deshalb auch „Dreiflüssestadt“ genannt. Aufgrund dieser Lage wird sie auch oft „die Schwimmende Stadt“ genannt.
Die fantastische Lage der Dreiflüssestadt zieht alljährlich sehr viele in- und ausländische Touristen an, hierbei spielt die Flusskreuzfahrbranche inzwischen eine gewichtige Rolle. Diese Lage an den 3 Flüssen führt natürlich auch regelmäβig zu schweren Überschwemmungen und im Jahr 2013 war es dann soweit mit der historischen Rekordmarke von 12,89 Metern – es war das sogenannte Jahrtausendhochwasser.

PASSAU – THE THREE RIVERS CITY
Passau is a university town and an old bishopric town with 50,000 inhabitants in Bavaria. It is located on the border with Austria as well as at the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz and is therefore also called “Dreiflüssestadt”. Because of this location it is also often called “the floating city”.
The fantastic location of the Dreiflüssestadt attracts a lot of domestic and foreign tourists every year, the river cruise industry now plays an important role.
For example, around 2000 cruise ships ship in the Dreiflüssstadt every year. Worth mentioning also the famous Inn and Donauradweg, many of these bicycle tourists have the Austrian capital Vienna as its goal.
This situation on the 3 rivers also leads to severe flooding on a regular basis, and in 2013 it was so far with the historical record mark of 12.89 meters – it was the so-called Millennium High Water.

We visited Passau by train and the old town itself is worth seeing and offers interesting sights on foot and by boat trip.
In the old town there are many, also steep alleys, which invite you for walks and again and again you come across a river, which was this now again…??
Fascinating the Cathedral St. Stephan with baroque buildings in the surroundings and incredible acoustics through one of the largest organs in the world.
From the ship you can see beautiful views of the old town, its panorama of the towers, the “Vesten” and, of course, the confluence of the 3 rivers that make Passau so famous.

Era verão e o sol brilhava com toda sua intensidade. Seus raios iluminavam intermináveis campos azuis que exalavam um aroma único: o perfume da ‘Provence’. Dava para sentir um perfume intenso provocado por milhares de flores de lavanda que alcançam toda uma região.
As fronteiras já estavam abertas pela União Europeia, a livre circulação de pessoas permitida pelo Tratado de ‘Schengen’, mas o euro ainda não circulava. Cruzar os limites entre Espanha e França pelos Pirineus é como andar entre nuvens. Na altura de ‘La Jonquera’, última cidade na Catalunha, aparece a indicação para Perpinhã.
Cidade francesa localizada nos Pirineus orientais, tem o idioma catalão co-oficial com o francês. Depois, seguimos na direção de Montpellier, lugar milenar na região do Languedoc-Rousillon.
A ideia era explorar a ‘Provence’, fixando base em Marselha, capital administrativa da região da ‘Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur’, segunda maior cidade da França e a mais antiga cidade francesa. É, também, a terceira mais populosa depois de Paris e Lyon. O antigo porto foi transformado em espaço de ócio, com restaurantes, bares e hotéis. O novo porto é o mais importante da frança e um dos mais destacados no mediterrâneo.
Encravada na emblemática Costa Azul, lugar de veraneio de celebridades, consagrado por atrizes como Brigitte Bardot. É curioso como os franceses não abrem mão do seu idioma, principalmente no sul da frança. Dizem que ali possui um sotaque ibérico. Inglês nem pensar. Italiano, um pouco, já que a fronteira com a Itália está a mais ou menos duzentos quilômetros. A vila de Cassis é um encanto.
Outro dia escapamos para visitar Aix-em-Provence, capital histórica da região, com grande apelo universitário e com um patrimônio arquitetônico invejável.
Foi fundada como Aix (Aquae Sextiae) em 123 a. C. pelo cônsul romano Sextius Calvinus, que lhe pôs o nome. Em 102 a. C. teve lugar a Batalha de Aquae Sextae entre tropas romanas sob o comando de Caio Mario, contra tribos invasoras. No século IV foi nomeada capital da ‘Narbonensis Secunda’. Mais tarde, em 477, foi ocupada pelos visigodos. Em 731 foi arrasada pelos árabes. Finalmente, em 1487 passou à Coroa de França. Também foi sede do Parlamento de 1501 a 1793.
Passear pela avenida Mirabeu com seus cafés e restaurantes consiste num prazeroso programa.
A luz incomparável, as paisagens campestres de ‘Aix’ e a alegria de viver do seu povo, serviram de inspiração para as telas de Paul Cézane. Os locais onde o artista viveu podem ser visitados. As cores e os aromas das pequenas feiras e mercados de antiguidades tomam conta das diversas praças da cidade semanalmente aos domingos.
A gastronomia da Provence é colorida e simples, tendo como base produtos frescos. Caças, mariscos, queijos de cabra e legumes são fortes na região.
‘Arles’, cidade onde viveu Van Gogh, e ‘Avignon’, que durante vários anos foi residência dos Papas da igreja católica, foram os destinos seguintes. Mas na semana próxima explico um pouco. Não por nada, mas porque é sempre bom reencontrar o céu azul e a doçura da Provence.

Es war Sommer und die Sonne schien mit all ihrer Intensität. Ihre Strahlen beleuchten endlose blaue Felder, die einen einzigartigen Duft verströmten: den Duft der ‘Provence’.
Ich konnte einen intensiven Duft von Tausenden von Lavendelblüten verspüren, welcher eine ganze Region überzieht. Gerade in dieser Zeit zwischen Juli und August, wenn all die Felder voll von Lavendel in voller Blüte stehen. Es ist wie ein riesiger Garten Frankreichs. Rund um diese blauen und lilafarbenen Felder finden sich alte Schlösser und Burgen, romanischen Kirchen und kleine Dörfer.
Die Grenzen erlaubten bereits durch den Vertrag von “Schengen” der Europäischen Union den freien Grenzverkehr von Personen, obwohl der EURO nocht nicht in Umlauf war. Das Überschreiten der Grenze zwischen Spanien und Frankreich durch die Pyrenäen ist wie zwischen den Wolken zu Fuß einherschreiten.
Auf der Höhe von ‘La Jonquera’, der letzten Stadt in Katalonien erscheint dann das Hinweisschild nach Perpignan.
Die französische Stadt in den östlichen Pyrenäen hat neben Französisch auch Katalanisch als gemeinsame Amtssprache. Dann geht es weiter in Richtung Montpellier, einem alten Ort in der Region Languedoc-Roussillon.
Die Idee war es, die ‘Provence’ zu erkunden mit Basis in Marseille, der Verwaltungshauptstadt der Region “Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur” und der ältesten französischen Stadt. Es ist auch die drittgrößte Stadt nach Paris und Lyon. Der alte Hafen wurde transformiert in einen Bereich für Freizeit mit Restaurants, Bars und Hotels. Der neue Hafen ist der wichtigste von Frankreich und einer der führenden im Mittelmeer.
Eingebettet in das Aushängeschild Riviera verdankt dieser Sommerferienort seine Berühmtheit Schauspielerinnen wie z.B Brigitte Bardot. Es ist merkwürdig wie die Franzosen nicht von ihrer Sprache abrücken vor allem im Süden von Frankreich. Sie sagen, es habe einen iberischen Akzent. An Englisch ist nicht zu denken. Auch ein wenig Italienisch wird gesprochen, da die Grenze zu Italien nur etwa zweihundert Kilometer entfernt ist. Das Dorf Cassis hat Charme.
An einem weiteren Tag besuchten wir Aix-en-Provence, die historische Hauptstadt der Region mit angesehener Universität und mit seinem beneidenswerten architektonischen Erbe.

Schlendern Sie durch die Allee Mirabeu mit seinen Cafés und Restaurants – ein herrliches Programm. Das unvergleichliche Licht, die Landschaft von “Aix” und die Lebensfreude der Menschen, dienten als Inspiration für die Gemälde von Paul Cézane.
Die Orte, an denen der Künstler gelebt hat, können besichtigt werden. Die Farben und Aromen der kleinen Märkte und Antiquitätenstände sorgen an den verschiedenen Plätzen wöchentlich am Sonntag für eine gediegene Atmosphäre.
Die Küche der Provence ist bunt und einfach basierend auf frischen Produkten. Wild, Meeresfrüchte, Ziegenkäse und Gemüse sind in der Region stark vertreten.
“Arles”, die Stadt wo Van Gogh lebte und ‘Avignon’, die für viele Jahre die Residenz der Päpste der katholischen Kirche war, waren unsere folgenden Ziele. Dazu später mehr.

THE FRAGRANCE OF THE PROVENCE

It was summer and the sun was shining with all its intensity. Its rays illuminated endless blue fields that exhaled a unique scent: the scent of ‘Provence’.
I could feel an intense smell of thousands of lavender blossoms, covering a whole region. Just in this time between July and August when all the fields are full of lavender in full bloom. It is like a giant garden of France. Around these blue and lilac fields are found old castles, romanesque churches and small villages.
We had a route whose destination was the city of Marseille on the banks of the Mediterranean with its historic harbor. The borders already allowed the free border traffic of persons through the „Treaty of Schengen“ of the European Union, even though the EURO was not in circulation yet. Crossing the border between Spain and France through the Pyrenees was like walking between the clouds on foot.
The French city in the eastern Pyrenees has French as well as Catalan as a common official language. Then we continue towards Montpellier, an old town in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
The idea was to explore the ‘Provence’ with base in Marseille, the administrative capital of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and the oldest French city. It is also the third largest city after Paris and Lyon. The old port has been transformed into an area for recreation with restaurants, bars and hotels. The new port is the most important of France and one of the leading in the Mediterranean.
Nestled in the Riviera this summer holiday resort owes its celebrity actresses such as Brigitte Bardot. It is strange how the French do not move away from their language habits, especially in the south of France. They say it has an Iberian accent. Do not think in English. Also a little Italian, as the border to Italy is only about two hundred kilometers away. The village of Cassis has ist charm.

Desde criança, quando eu escutava falar de carnaval, somente tinha conhecimento sobre as comemorações de Momo no Brasil, com as grandes celebrações em Salvador, Recife, Olinda, Ouro Preto e claro, no Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo com os desfiles das escolas de samba, principalmente na terra carioca, que atrai milhares de turistas de todo o mundo.
Atualmente, além disso, há também a moda dos blocos de carnaval que animam diversos bairros em várias cidades do Brasil. Foi uma surpresa para mim conhecer um pouco do interessante carnaval na Alemanha. Agora Erich, alemão da gema, vai explicar um pouco como é o carnaval na Alemanha.

O carnaval, também chamado Fastnacht ou Fasching é chamado na Alemanha também como a quinta temporada. Todos os anos em 11.11. exatamente às 11h11 acontece oficialmente a abertura do carnaval. Hoje em dia é um fator econômico considerável como, por exemplo, também no Rio de Janeiro.
Os verdadeiros carnavais de rua da Alemanha, com a sua agitação colorida e com foliões provenientes de todo o mundo começa na quinta-feira. Este ano meu filho Stefano viajou de Viena para Colônia para participar desse evento!

Existe um costume na quinta-feira de carnaval, também chamada Weiberfastnacht (carnaval das mulheres) nas cidades da Renânia, que as mulheres cortam as gravatas dos homens que encontrarem nas ruas, nos escritórios, nos trens… depois de cortarem, elas os compensam com um beijo fraternal, é uma forma de dizer que elas estão no comando da festa. Essa tradição simbólica existe desde 1824.

Na Alemanha, como em muitas outras partes do mundo, as pessoas gostam de se fantasiar, usarem perucas coloridas e/ou máscaras e divertir-se.

O carnaval, claro, não é apenas celebrado em Colónia, Düsseldorf e Mainz, o chamado Carnaval da Renânia, mas também no sudoeste da Alemanha, Swabia, Baden e partes do Nordeste e da Suíça Central, a chamada Fastnacht Swabian-Alemannic.
Grandes paradas na segunda-feira de Carnaval ocorrem em todas as cidades consideradas grandes polos carnavalescos da Alemanha.

Em Mainz o desfile é o destaque do carnaval, cuja principal característica, é a tendência de se ridicularizar a política. O que você não deve dizer durante o ano, é dito durante o carnaval. Os carros alegóricos são testemunhas da criatividade e garantem o bom humor durante os desfiles.
O Fastnacht Swabian-Alemannic não tem nenhuma semelhança com o carnaval moderno de Rhineland, a não ser o fato das pessoas se fantasiarem. Os trajes e máscaras nessa área são incrivelmente extraordinários.

A única coisa comum nessas duas regiões é o uso de fantasias. Na Rheinland cada ano há sempre inovações, no Fastnacht Swabian-Alemannic, o carnaval é baseado nas antigas tradições que são preservadas, as fantasias e máscaras são passadas de pais para filhos e então para os netos.

Contrário à região da Rhineland, nessa área, não se apresenta uma fantasia nova todo ano – é o oposto! As máscaras são feitas de madeira e são herdadas. Para esse fim, um costume tradicional é combinado, de forma que as pessoas não podem participar dos desfiles de carnaval sem as belas fantasias. Com elas, com os sons e movimentos, as bruxas, os diabos, os críticos e os bobos criam um „real „ cenário de horror bem-intencionado.

O tema geral do carnaval, contudo, é sempre e em toda parte: alegria para todos e tristeza para ninguém!
Em algum lugar, contudo, a mais bela e colorida estação do ano está terminada. Em muitos lugares as bonecas de palha são queimadas e assim, é tempo de se iniciar o jejum da Quaresma, durante 6 semanas, até chegar a Páscoa.
No final, algumas palavras sobre a origem do carnaval: as formas diferentes de carnaval se originam nas tradições pré-históricas da Idade Média.
As máscaras, as pessoas fantasiadas, o ridículo, as críticas às autoridades, a dança, a música, a eliminação de barreiras sociais, a alegria, o excesso nas comidas e bebidas e a expulsão do inverno pré-cristão é o que caracteriza a celebração do carnaval na Alemanha. É o momento de liberação, de comer e beber tudo que se tem direito antes que o jejum sem fim comece!

KARNEVAL IN DEUTSCHLAND
Als Kind, wenn die Rede von Karneval war, kannte ich nur die Festivitäten diesbezüglich in Brasilien wie z.B. in Salvador, Recife, Olinda, Ouro Preto und natürlich in Rio de Janeiro und Sao Paulo mit ihren Paraden der Samba-Schulen, die vor allem in Rio Tausende von Touristen aus der ganzen Welt alljährlich anziehen.
Derzeit entwickeln sich zusätzlich zahlreiche Karnevals-Blöcke, die in vielen Stadtteilen in vielen Städten Brasiliens für Animation sorgen.
Es war eine Überraschung für mich, vieles über den interessanten Karneval in Deutschland kennenlernen zu können. Erich wird nun versuchen, ein wenig den Karneval in Deutschland zu erklären.

Der Karneval, auch Fastnacht oder Fasching genannt wird in Deutschland als die fünfte Jahreszeit bezeichnet. Alljährlich am 11.11. genau um 11.11 Uhr wird überall die Karnevalssession offiziell eröffnet. Heutzutage ein beachtlicher Wirtschaftsfaktor wie z.B. auch in Rio de Janeiro.

Die wirkliche Straβenfasent mit ihrem bunte Treiben auf Straßen und Plätzen mit den vielen verrückten Jecken, die aus der ganzen Welt anreisen, um einmal dieses Spektakel live miterleben zu dürfen, beginnt allerdings erst am Donnerstag vor dem Aschermittwoch.

Darunter dieses Jahr auch wieder mein Sohn Stefano extra aus Wien nach Köln anreisend!
Es kann passieren, dass Ihnen als Mann am Fastnachtsdonnerstag, auch Weiberfastnacht genannt, in den rheinischen Karnevalshochburgen wie z.B. Köln ihre Krawatte abgeschnitten wird, sie aber sofort durch einen freundschaftlichen Kuss entschädigt werden. Diese Tradition geht zurück auf das Jahr 1824.
Die Menschen lieben es, sich zu verkleiden, bunte Perücken oder Masken anzuziehen und sich lustig zu schminken.

Karneval gibt es aber natürlich nicht nur in Köln, Düsseldorf und Mainz, rheinischer Karneval genannt, auch im Südwesten Deutschlands wie im Schwabenland, Baden und Teilen der Nordost– und Zentralschweiz wird ordentlich gefeiert – die schwäbisch-alemannische Fastnacht.
Groβe Rosenmontagsumzüge finden in allen Karnevals-Hochburgen statt. In Mainz ist er der Höhepunkt des Karnevals. Charakteristisch hier der Hang zur Verspottung der Politik. Hier wird all das ausgesprochen, was man sich das ganze Jahr so verkneift. Die Motivwagen zeugen von inspirierender Kreativität und sorgen für gute Stimmung während der Umzüge.
Die schwäbisch-alemannische Fastnacht hat bis auf das Verkleiden keine Ähnlichkeit mit dem modernen rheinischen Karneval. Dabei sind jedoch die Kostüme, Häs und Masken unglaublich außergewöhnlich.
Anders als im Rheinland geht es hier nicht darum, jedes Jahr etwas Neues zu präsentieren – ganz im Gegenteil! Die Masken hier sind zumeist aus Holz gefertigt und werden über Generationen hinweg vererbt.

Dazu wird eine traditionelle Tracht kombiniert, so dass man bei den Umzügen vor lauter schöner Kostüme gar nicht aus dem Staunen herauskommt. Bei diesen traditionsreichen Verkleidungen, ihren Lauten und Bewegungen schaffen es die Hexen, Teufel, Geißenmeckerer und Narros es sogar, uns einen richtigen, aber immer gutgemeinten Schrecken einzujagen.

Das allgemeine Fasnet-Motto jedoch lautet überall und immer: Jedem zur Freud und niemandem zum Leid!

Irgendwann ist aber auch diese schönste und kunterbunte Jahreszeit vorbei. Vielerorts werden dann Strohpuppen verbrannt und läuten somit die 6wöchige Fastenzeit bis Ostern ein.
Zum Schluβ noch ein paar Worte zum Ursprung des Karnevals: Die regional oftmals sehr unterschiedlichen Ausdrucksformen des Karnevals zeigen nach wie vor viele Charakteristika der mittelalterlichen Vorfastenbräuche wie: Maskerade, Rollentausch, Spottlust verbunden mit närrischer Kritik gegen die Obrigkeit, Tanz, Musik, Überwindung gesellschaftlicher Distanzen, Frohgemut, Ausgelassenheit in Essen und Trinken bis hin zur vorchristlichen Wintervertreibung. „Einfach noch einmal richtig essen und trinken bevor die entbehrungsreiche Fastenzeit beginnt!!“.

CARNIVAL IN GERMANY
As a child, when the speech was of carnival I only knew the festivities in Brazil such as in Salvador, Recife, Olinda, Ouro Preto and of course in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo with their parades of Samba schools, which attract thousands of tourists from all over the world every year, especially in Rio.
At the moment there are numerous carnival blocks active in many city districts allover Brazil presenting their animation.
It was a surprise for me to get to know a lot about the interesting carnival in Germany. Erich will now try to explain a little the carnival in Germany.

The carnival, also called Fastnacht or Fasching is called in Germany as the fifth season. Every year on 11.11. exactly at 11.11 AM the carnival session is officially opened. Nowadays it is a considerable economic fator like e.g. in Rio de Janeiro.

The real street carnival with its colorful hustle and bustle on the streets and squares with the crazy fools coming from all over the world to witness this spectacle in live will start on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. This year also my son Stefano went again from Vienna to Cologne!

It can happen to you as a man on the fastnacht-Thursday, also called Weiberfastnacht (carnival of women), in the rhenish carnival strongholds such as Cologne, that your tie is cut off by women, but this is compensated immediately by a friendly kiss. This symbolic tradition goes back to the year 1824.
People love to dress up, wear colorful wigs or masks and make fun of themselves.

Carnival of course is not only celebrated in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Mainz, the so-called Rhineland Carnival, but also in the south-west of Germany, in Swabia, Baden and parts of Northeast and Central Switzerland, the so-called Swabian-Alemannic Fastnacht.
Large Rose Monday parades take place in all carnival strongholds. In Mainz the parade is the highlight of the carnival. Characteristic here is the tendency to ridicule politics. This is the expression of all that you have to curtail to say during the year. The motive cars bear witness to inspiring creativity and ensure a good mood during the parades.
The Swabian-Alemannic Fastnacht has no similarity with the modern Rhineland carnival apart from the dressing up. But the costumes and masks are incredibly extraordinary.

Contrary to the Rhineland it is not about presenting something new every year – it is quite the opposite! The masks here are usually made of wood and are inherited for generations.

In the end a few words about the origins of the carnival: the often different forms of the carnival are still characteristic of the prehistoric traditions of the Middle Ages. Masquerade, roll exchange, ridicule, narrative criticism against the authorities, dance, music, overcoming social distances, cheerfulness, exuberance in food and drink and the pre-Christian winter expulsion. “Just eat and drink once again before the the unendless long fasting time begins !!”.
