Há algumas semanas atrás, nós recebemos fotos e comentários sobre uma viagem realizada à Nova Zelândia, o que agradecemos muito.

Os amigos que nos enviaram os comentários estavam cientes que Nova Zelândia em 21 dias seria pouco, considerando-se que eles fizeram uma longa viagem, desde Viena passando por Cingapura e voltando por Los Angeles, mas era o tempo que eles dispunham.

Na realidade, eles queriam chegar em Auckland e de lá, voar para as Ilhas do Norte e Sul, mas, não foi possível. Assim, eles chegaram na cidade de Wellignton e foi necessário fazer uma mudança no plano original.

Mesmo assim, eles aproveitaram a viagem e a companhia de um amigo “kiwi globe-trotter”, ou seja, um nativo, que fez com que eles conhecessem o máximo da Nova Zelândia em um curto espaço de tempo.

A rota final da viagem foi: Wellington – Taupo – Roturoa – Neipier (Cape Kidnappers) – Wellington – Wellington to Picton  by ferry – Nelson – Golden Bay – Kaikoura – Christchurch. É um roteiro muito bonito e por isso, vamos apresentar nesse post algumas impressões e imagens dessa viagem.

Taupo está localizada no coração da Ilha do Norte e o grande Lago Taupo é, sem dúvidas, um dos lugares mais bonitos do planeta com suas águas azuis cristalinas e sua áurea mágica. Não foi á toa que foi escolhido para ser uma das locações da trilogia dos filmes  “Senhor dos Anéis”.

Eles ficaram impressionados com os gêiseres e as fontes termais, um dos maiores lugares do mundo com atividades geotérmicas, conhecido como “Círculo do Fogo do Oceano Pacífico”.

Os nossos amigos também ficaram bem impressionados com a cultura do povo Maori.

Outro aspecto bem peculiar foi a cocção de alimentos com energia geotermal.

Depois de 3 horas a partir de Rotorua e 20 minutes de Napier (Cape Kidnappers), eles se impressionaram com a beleza da costa, com suas vistas espetaculares, falésias imponentes

e maior colônia de albatrozes da Australásia.

Nesse lugar vale a pena passear pela praia para curtir a bela natureza.

Nossos amigos continuaram a viagem para a Ilha do Sul, onde chegaram na Baía Dourada (Golden Bay), com suas praias, lagoas de águas transparentes, lindas baías isoladas,  montanhas com bosques espessos e mar com água da cor de turquesa, enfim, natureza fantástica, um verdadeiro paraíso.

A pitoresca cidade litorânea de Kaikoura foi uma das últimas paradas antes deles viajarem para Christchurch, de onde voariam para casa. Aliás, um lugar perfeito para avistar criaturas marinhas, caminhar ao longo da costa e comer um prato de lagostas. Eles nos disseram que as belezas naturais de Kaikoura são espetaculares.

No inverno, as montanhas são cobertas por neve, oferecendo outro cenário de grande beleza!

Conclusão 1 dessa viagem curta para um lugar distante: sim, foi uma viagem apenas para sentir o gosto da Nova Zelândia, mas, eles a consideraram um sucesso. Uma coisa é certa, eles voltarão a Nova Zelândia, mas, com mais tempo, pensam até em ficar uns dois meses por lá. Também vão pensar em outra rota de avião na viagem de volta com uma parada para tornar o longo percurso mais agradável. Também pensam viajar em um motorhome para tornar a estadia nas praias da Ilha do Sul mais confortável.

Da próxima vez, eles vão definitivamente fazer o trekking  de Tangario (Tangario Crossing Trail), uma caminhada de 20 km pela montanha na Ilha do Norte, exatamente onde Mordor, do Senhor dos Anéis, foi filmado, mas, não foi possível dessa vez, pois não tinha equipamentos, roupas e nem tempo para fazer isso.

Conclusão 2: a viagem foi incrível, mas eles somente conseguiram vislumbrar um pouco da Nova Zelândia, de suas paisagens fascinantes e do povo que pareceu bem relaxado, em paz.

 

Schnupperkurs Neuseeland…!!

Vor ein panupperkurs Neuseeland…!!ar Wochen erhielten wir diese Fotos und Kommentare zum Thema Reiseziel Neuseeland, dafür wollen wir uns an dieser Stelle herzlichst bedanken.

Wir waren uns dessen sehr wohl bewuβt, Neuseeland in 21 Tagen wird verdammt knapp werden, v.a. wenn man die sehr lange Anreise via Singapur und den ebenso langen  Rückweg via Los Angeles mit in Betracht ziehen muβ.

Hinzu kam, daβ wir ursprünglich in Auckland ankommen wollten und dann die Nordinsel hinunter reisen wollten zur Südinsel, das klappte jedoch unvorhergesehen nicht so, also kamen wir in Wellington an und wir hatten gezwungernermaβen Routenänderungen vorzunehmen. Trotzdem haben wir Neuseeland sehr genossen und unser Freund und Begleiter, ein  waschechter „Kiwi-Weltenbummler“, brachte uns Neuseeland so nahe wie möglich in der knapp zur Verfügung stehenden Zeit.

 

Von der  letztendlich  realisierten Route Wellington – Taupo – Roturoa – Neipier (Cape Kidnappers) – Wellington – Fähre von Wellington nach Picton – Golden Bay – Kaikoura  – Christchurch sollen im Folgenden einige der visuelle Highlights, Impressionen vorgestellt werden.

Taupo liegt im Herzen der Nordinsel und der groβe See Lake Taupo ist unzweifelhaft einer der schönsten Orte dieser Erde mit seinem kristallblauen Wasser und   einer magischen Aura. Nicht umsonst  war es einer der Drehorte der Triologie „Herr der Ringe“.

 In Rotorua waren wir beeindruckt von den Geysiren und den heissen Quellen, einer der grössten Orte der Erde mit solch geothermischen Aktivitäten am sogenannten Ring des Feuers um den Pazifik gelegen.

Auch die Kultur der Maori Ureinwohner wurde uns hier sehr eindrucksvoll dargeboten.

Beeindruckend hier die Garung von Speisen mit geothermischer Energie.

Etwa 3 Stunden von Rotorua oder etwa 20 Minuten von Napier (Cape Kidnappers) wurden wir von unglaublichen Küstenpanoramen, turmhohen Schichtgesteinsklippen

und Australasiens größter Tölpel-Festlandkolonie beeindruckt.

Es lohnt sich hier, eine Strandwanderung zu unternehmen, um die Reize der Natur vollends genieβen zu können.

Auf der Südinsel führte uns die Reise zum  GOLDEN Bay mit seinen tramhaften goldenen Stränden, kristallklaren Lagunen, einsamen wunderschönen Buchten, buschbewachsenen Hügeln und dem türkisfarbenen Meer – fantastische Natur, ein Paradies.

Die malerische Küstenstadt Kaikoura war eine unserer letzten Stationen bevor wir von Christchurch aus unsere Heimreise antreten mussten , es ist ein perfekter Ort, um Meeresbewohner zu beobachten, an der Küste entlang zu spazieren und einen Teller Flusskrebs zu verspeisen. Die Landschaft in Kaikoura ist spektakulär.

Im Winter sind dann auch die Berge mit Schnee bedeckt, was der Szenerie zusätzliche Schönheit verleiht.

Fazit 1 dieser wunderschönen, aber viel zu kurzen Reise: Ja, es war ein Schnupperkurs, aber ein total erfolgreicher. Eines steht fest, wir werden wieder nach Neuseeland reisen, dann aber mit mehr Zeit, wir würden dann wohl 2 Monate ansetzen, und bei der An- und Heimreise  einen Transitstop einplanen, um den jeweils 30 stündigen Flug angenehmer erfahren zu können. Auch würde ein Campingmobil das Verweilen an den Stränden auf der Südinsel wahrscheinlich angenehmer machen.

Beim nächsten Mal werden wir dann auch unbedingt den Tangario Crossing Trail machen, eine 20 km Bergwanderung auf der Nordinsel genau dort, wo Mordor von Lord of the Rings gedreht wurde, diese Mal hatten wir jedoch keine vernünftigen Wanderklamotten und Schuhe mit uns  und v.a. nicht genügend Zeit.

Fazit 2

Die Reise war genial, jedoch konnten wir nur einen kleinen Eindruck von Neuseeland gewinnen

aber wir konnten

faszinierend vielfältige Landschaften erfahren und super entspannte Menschen.

 

Taster course New Zealand…!!

A few weeks ago we received these photos and comments on the subject of travel destination New Zealand, for which we would like to   thank you very much.

We were well aware of that New Zealand in 21 days will be damn close if you consider the very long journey via Singapore and the equally long way back via Los Angeles.

In addition we originally wanted to arrive in Auckland and then travel down the North Island to the South Island, but that did not work out well, so we arrived in Wellington and had to make some erroneous route changes. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed New Zealand and our friend and companion there, a true “kiwi globetrotter”, brought us as close to New Zealand as we could in the short time available.

 From the final route Wellington – Taupo – Roturoa – Neipier (Cape Kidnappers) – Wellington – Wellington to Picton  by ferry – Golden Bay – Kaikoura – Christchurch, we want to present some of the visual highlights and impressions.

Taupo is located in the heart of the North Island, and the large Lake Taupo is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on earth with its crystal blue waters and magical aura. Not for nothing it was one of the locations of the trilogy “Lord of the Rings”.

In Rotorua we were impressed by the geysers and hot springs, one of the largest places on earth with such geothermal activity at the so-called „Ring of Fire“ around the Pacific Ocean.

The culture of the Maori indigenous people was presented to us very impressively.

Impressive here also is the cooking of food with geothermal energy.

About 3 hours from Rotorua or about 20 minutes from Napier, (Cape Kidnappers) we were struck by incredible coastal panoramas, towering  cliffs

and Australasia’s largest mainland booby colony.

It is worthwhile here to do a beach walk to fully enjoy the charms of nature.

On the South Island, the journey took us to GOLDEN Bay, with its golden beaches, crystal clear lagoons, secluded beautiful bays, bushy hills and turquoise seas – fantastic nature, a paradise.

The quaint seaside town of Kaikoura was one of our last stops before we had to travel home from Christchurch, making it a perfect place to spot sea creatures, walk along the coast and eat a plate of crayfish. The landscape in Kaikoura is spectacular.

In winter then, the mountains are covered with snow, giving the scenery additional beauty.

Conclusion 1 of this beautiful, but far too short journey: Yes, it was a taster course, but a totally successful one. One thing is certain, we will travel again to New Zealand, but then with more time, we would then probably stay two months, and plan on the journey back home another transit stop, in order to experience the 30-hour flight more pleasant. Also, a camping car would probably make staying at the beaches on the South Island more enjoyable.

Next time we will definitely do the Tangario Crossing Trail, a 20km mountain hike on the North Island right where Mordor was filmed by Lord of the Rings, but this time we did not have any reasonable hiking gear and shoes with us and  not enough time at all.

Conclusion 2

The trip was awesome, but we could only get a glimpse of New Zealand

but we could

experience fascinating diverse landscapes and super relaxed people.

TIERRA PATAGÔNIA, LUGAR MÁGICO (PARTE II)

Continuamos a comentar sobre o hotel Tierra Patagônia, assunto do nosso post anterior. Nesse texto comentaremos sobre os cinco dias e quatro noites que passamos lá, no sistema pensão completa, onde estão incluídos os passeios para visitar a região (o passeio de barco é pago por fora, pois é terceirizado) e os traslados entre a cidade de Calafate, na Argentina e o hotel e o hotel e Punta Arenas, no Chile, de onde partimos para Santiago.

NOSSA EXPERIÊNCIA NO TIERRA PATAGÔNICA

A nossa experiência no Tierra Patagônia começou a partir do momento em que a van do traslado  chegou pontualmente no hotel em Calafate onde estávamos hospedados. A partir daí, posso dizer, que terminaram nossas preocupações e tudo foi conduzido pelo experiente funcionário, que nos orientou sobre os procedimentos a seguir na fronteira entre Argentina e Chile. Nesse momento, já sentimos o carinho do hotel pelo hóspede quando nos foi ofertada uma bolsa com água e informações sobre o percurso. A distância entre Calafate, localizada na província de Santa Cruz, na Argentina até ao hotel é de, aproximadamente, 246 km. Saímos às 8:30 horas da manhã e chegamos no hotel por volta das 13:25 horas.

A recepção foi simpática, de forma rápida nos foi pedido para assinar a ficha de hóspedes e um termo de responsabilidade onde estava escrito sobre as condições dos passeios, os riscos e as questões de responsabilidade dos hóspedes e do hotel. Além disso, foi feita uma apresentação do hotel

para que pudéssemos ter uma orientação geral. Depois disso, seguimos para nosso apartamento

onde foram explicados alguns detalhes e foi enfatizada a preocupação do hotel na questão da sustentabilidade, recebemos dois squeezes metálicos para utilizarmos durante nossos passeios e nos foi informado sobre o bebedouro localizado na entrada do hotel.

Depois de acomodados, nos dirigimos para a área de estar, onde está localizada a mesa de atendimento sobre as excursões,

onde nos foi explicado detalhes sobre as opções de passeios oferecidas pelo hotel, pois já havíamos escolhido antecipadamente as três excursões que gostaríamos de conhecer.Escolhemos o passeio de meio dia para visitar a Lagoa Azul e arredores,

o de um dia completo para ver o Maciço Paine juntamente com o passeio de barco no Lago Grey para ver o Glacier Grey

e por último, a trilha Paso de Agostini, que nos ofereceu a oportunidade de caminhar em uma área de floresta do Parque Nacional Torre del Paine e conhecer muitas espécies vegetais, além de apreciar belas paisagens.

O hotel oferece uma variedade de opções de passeios com diferentes níveis de dificuldade, como trilhas difíceis como a chamada “Base das Torres”, com 18 km, que tem duração de 7 a 8 horas, observação de pássaros, cavalgadas, passeios de bicicletas, de caiaques, de barco, caminhadas no gelo, dentre outros. Os guias são bem treinados e tudo é muito bem organizado.

Depois de agendarmos nossos passeios, à tarde, saímos do hotel e tivemos nosso primeiro contato com a natureza local. Caminhamos pela trilha, localizada em frente ao hotel, que nos conduz até a margem do Lago Sarmiento.

Tivemos a oportunidade de observar a flora local e ver rastros de animais, além de podermos apreciar a vista magnífica do Maciço Paine.

 

Erich e eu gostamos muito de voltar dos passeios e relaxarmos no spa, que oferece uma piscina interna, com vista maravilhosa para o MaciçoPaine e uma externa, além de sauna, aula de yoga, massagens, dentre outros tratamentos.

Um aspecto interessante que nos chamou à atenção e que mostra a valorização da cultura local foi o seguinte: quando a camareira preparava nossa cama no final do dia, ela sempre deixava junto a um chocolate, uma folha impressa com uma lenda de um dos povos que habitou a região. Eu sempre ficava ansiosa para saber qual seria a estória do dia, teve “A criação da terra, de acordo com o povo Tehuelche”, “Elal e a estrela”, “Kamshout e o outono”…

Em relação ao serviço de alimentação, o hotel oferece um grande e variado buffet no café da manhã. Os serviços de almoço e jantar são à la carte, com uma carta reduzida, com opções de alta qualidade que atendem a todos gostos, além de pratos muito bem apresentados e quantidade suficiente. Em relação às bebidas, a variedade é grande e a qualidade é excelente.

 

No que diz respeito aos funcionários, todos são simpáticos e muito prestativos. Mas, o que nos chamou mesmo a atenção foi o atendimento do gerente Nicholas Russ: um cavalheiro que faz com que você se sinta realmente em casa. Erich e eu já viajamos muito, porém, nunca vivenciamos uma situação em que o gerente de um hotel desse porte, recepciona os visitantes na sua chegada, na volta das excursões e se despede de todos! No dia da nossa partida, ele nos conduziu até ao veículo que nos transportou até Punta Arenas, nos apresentou ao motorista e de forma cordial e atenciosa, agradeceu nossa visita ao hotel.

Erich e eu ficamos particularmente impressionados, quando enquanto aguardávamos a nossa partida, o avistamos se despedindo de outro casal e nesse caso, até carregando uma mala de um hóspede, que não foi sensível o suficiente para impedi-lo dessa atitude.

O transfer até Punta Arenas durou 4 horas e meia, mais uma vez, o hotel preparou uma “lancheira” com água e sanduíche para nos abastecer durante a viagem. Mais uma vez, o motorista era simpático e prestativo nas informações.

Enfim, a nossa estadia no hotel nos proporcionou aquele sentimento de estar em um lugar que lhe conduz ao relaxamento, a apreciação da natureza, ao esquecimento de todas as preocupações do seu dia a dia, você realmente volta para casa renovado(a).  Com certeza guardamos lembranças afetivas do Hotel Tierra Patagônia, da beleza estonteante do Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. TIERRA PATAGONIA – EIN MAGISCHER ORT (TEIL II)

In diesem Blog-Post kommentieren wir die fünf Tage und vier Nächte, die wir dort im Hotel Tierra Patagônia verbracht haben, alles im All Inclusive System, darin eingeschlossen auch ein Teil unserer Ausflüge und auch die Transfers von Calafate zum Hotel und vom Hotel nach Punta Arenas, von wo aus wir dann unsere Reise nach Santiago fortsetzten.

UNSERE ERFAHRUNGEN IM HOTEL TERRA PATAGÔNIA

Unsere Erfahrung mit dem Tierra Patagonia Hotel begann in dem Moment, in welchem unser Hoteltransfer uns pünktlich im Hotel in Calafate abholte. Von da an kann ich sagen, dass unsere Sorgen vorbei waren und alles von einem erfahrenen Mitarbeiter des Hotels unterstützt wurde, dies gilt auch für den Grenzübertritt von Argentinien nach Chile.  Die Entfernung zwischen Calafate in der Provinz Santa Cruz in Argentinien zum Hotel beträgt ca. 245 km. Wir verlieβen Calafate um 8:30 Uhr morgens und kamen gegen 13:30 Uhr im Hotel an.

Die Rezeption war schnell und freundlich und wir wurden gebeten das Gästeblatt und ein Infoblatt für Verantwortlichkeiten zu unterschreiben, in welchem die Bedingungen für die Touren, die Risiken und Haftungsfragen der Gäste und des Hotels beschrieben wurden. Außerdem gab es eine kurze Präsentation des Hotels

gegeben zur allgemeinen Orientierung. Danach wurden einige Details in unserem Zimmer erklärt wurden und die Sorge des Hotels

um Nachhaltigkeit betont. Wir erhielten zwei metallische Flaschen, die wir während unserer Touren nutzen konnten und am Trinkbrunnen am Eingang des Hotels mit frischem Wasser füllen konnten.

Nachdem wir uns in unserem Zimmer eingerichtet hatten, machten wir uns auf den Weg zum Lobby-Aufenthaltsbereich, wo sich auch der Touren-Informations-Tisch befand, wo wir mit weiteren

Informationen über die vom Hotel angebotenen Touren und den drei von uns ausgewählten Ausflügen versorgt wurden.   Wir wählten die halbtägige Tour zur Blauen Lagune und  Umgebung,

die Ganztagestour, um das Paine Massiv zu sehen einschlieβlich einer Bootsfahrt auf dem Lake Grey zum Gletscher Grey

 und schließlich den Wanderweg Paso de Agostini, auf dem  wir viele Pflanzenarten und wunderschöne Landschaften in einem Waldgebiet des Nationalparkes Torre del Paine bewundern konnten.

Das Hotel bietet eine Vielzahl von Wandermöglichkeiten mit verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsgraden an wie z.B. der sogenannte “Base das Torres” Trail mit 18 km und einer Dauer von 7 bis 8 Stunden dauert, weiterhin sind z.B. Vögel beobachten, Reiten, Fahrradtouren, Kajak, Bootfahren, Eiswandern und vieles mehr im Angebot. Die Guides sind sehr gut ausgebildet und alles ist bestens organisiert.

Nachdem wir unsere Touren geplant hatten, verließen wir das Hotel und hatten somit unseren ersten Kontakt mit der örtlichen freien Natur. Wir folgten dem Weg, der uns zum Ufer des Lago Sarmiento führte. Wir hatten die Gelegenheit die lokale Flora zu beobachten

und auch Tierspuren zu sehen, außerdem konnten wir die herrliche Aussicht auf das Paine-Massiv genießen.

Erich und ich genossen es sehr, von den Spaziergängen zurückzukommen und uns im Spa des Hotels zu entspannen, welches ein Hallenbad mit wundervollem Blick auf das Paine-Massiv und den See bietet. Der Spa-Bereich offeriert  Saunabereiche, Yogastunden, Massagen und andere Behandlungen.

Ein weiterer interessanter Aspekt, der unsere Aufmerksamkeit erregte und die Wertschätzung der lokalen Kultur zeigte, war folgender: Als das Zimmermädchen am Ende des Tages unser Bett vorbereitete, hinterließ sie immer eine kleine Schokolade mit einer alten Legende von einem der ehemaligen Völker dieser Region. Ich war immer bestrebt zu wissen, was die Geschichte des Tages war wie “Die Erschaffung der Erde gemäβ dem Tehuelche Volk”, “Elal und der Stern”, “Kamshout und Herbst” …

In Bezug auf den gastronomischen Service bietet das Hotel ein großes und abwechslungsreiches Buffet zum Frühstück an. Der Mittag- und Abendessen-Service ist a la carte mit einer reduzierten Speisekarte, jedoch mit hochwertigen Optionen, die für jeden Geschmack etwas bereithalten, sowohl Quantität als auch die visuelle Präsentation sind hervorragend. Auch bei den Getränken ist die Auswahl groß (Weine) und die Qualität  ausgezeichnet.

Was das  Personal angeht, alle sind sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Aber was unsere Aufmerksamkeit wirklich besonders erregt hat, war der anwesende Manager Nicholas Russ: ein Gentleman, der dafür sorgt, dass Sie sich wirklich wie zu Hause fühlen. Erich und ich sind viel gereist, jedoch haben wir noch nie erlebt, dass der Manager eines Hotels dieser Größe die Besucher bei ihrer Ankunft oder bei der Rückkehr von  Exkursionen begrüßt  und sich am Ende von allen verabschiedet!

Am Tag unserer Abreise brachte er uns zu dem Fahrzeug, das uns nach Punta Arenas brachte, stellte uns den Fahrer vor und bedankte sich herzlich und aufmerksam für unseren Besuch im Hotel.

Erich und ich waren besonders beeindruckt, als wir, während wir auf unsere Abfahrt warteten, sahen, wie er sich von einem anderen Paar verabschiedete und in diesem Fall sogar einen Koffer dieses Gast trug, welcher jedoch nicht sensibel genug war, ihn daran zu hindern.

Der Transfer nach Punta Arenas dauerte 4 1/2 Stunden, das Hotel versorgte uns wieder mit einer “Lunch Box”, Wasser und ein Sandwich enthaltend.  Auch hier war der Fahrer wieder sehr freundlich und informativ.

Wie auch immer, unser Aufenthalt im Hotel vermittelte uns das Gefühl, fernab von der restlichen Welt zu sein, an einem Ort, der zur Entspannung, zur Wertschätzung der Natur, zum Vergessen der Alltagssorgen einlädt und einen wie „runderneuert“ nach Hause kommen lässt.

Wir behalten ganz sicherlich liebevolle Erinnerungen an das Tierra Patagonia Hotel und die atemberaubende Schönheit des Nationalparks Torres del Paine.

TIERRA PATAGONIA – A MAGICAL PLACE (PART II)

In this blog post we comment on the five days and four nights that we spent there in the Hotel Tierra Patagônia, all in the All Inclusive system including some of our excursions and transfers from Calafate to the hotel and from the hotel to Punta Arenas, from where we then continued our journey to Santiago.

OUR EXPERIENCES AT HOTEL TERRA PATAGÔNIA

Our experience with the Tierra Patagonia Hotel began the moment our hotel transfer picked us up on time at the hotel in Calafate. From then on I can say that our worries were over and everything was supported by an experienced hotel staff member, including the border crossing from Argentina to Chile. The distance between Calafate in the province of Santa Cruz in Argentina to the hotel is approximately 245 km. We left Calafate at 8:30 in the morning and arrived at the hotel around 13:30.

The Check-In at the hotel was quick and friendly and we were asked to sign the guest sheet and an information sheet   describing the conditions for the tours, the risks and liability issues of the guests and the hotel.  We were given also a brief presentation about the

hotel as general orientation. After that also some details were explained in our room and the concern of the hotel

for sustainability was emphasized. We received two metallic bottles which we could use during our tours and to fill them with fresh water at the drinking fountain at the entrance of the hotel.

After settling into our room we made our way to the lobby lounge area where is located also the tour information table where we

were provided with more information about the tours offered by the hotel and the three excursions we had selected. We chose the half day tour to the Blue Lagoon and surrounding area,

the full day tour to see the Paine massif including a boat ride on Lake Gray to the Gray Glacier

and finally the Paso de Agostini trail, where we could see many plant species and beautiful landscapes in a wooded area of the National Park Torre del Paine.

The hotel offers a variety of hiking opportunities with different levels of difficulty such as the so-called “base the Torres” trail with 18 km and a duration of 7 to 8 hours and other activities such as bird watching, horseback riding, bike rides, kayaking, boating, ice hiking among others.The guides are all very well trained and everything is well organized.

After having planned our tours we left the hotel and we made our first physical experience with the local nature. We followed the path that led us to the shores of Lake Sarmiento. We had the opportunity

to observe the local flora and also to see animal tracks, as well as enjoying the magnificent view of the Paine massif.

Erich and I really enjoyed it coming back from the walks and excursions and then relaxing in the hotel’s spa, which offers an indoor pool with wonderful views of the Paine Massif and the lake. The spa area offers too sauna areas, yoga classes, massages and other treatments.

Another interesting aspect that caught our attention and showed the appreciation of the local culture was this: When the maid prepared our bed at the end of the day, she always left a small chocolate with an old legend of one of the former peoples of this region. I have always striven to know what the story of the day was like “The Creation of the Earth according to the Tehuelche People”, “Elal and the Star”, “Kamshout and Autumn”…

In terms of gastronomic service the hotel offers a large and varied breakfast buffet. The lunch and dinner service is a la carte with a reduced menu, but with high quality options catering for every taste, both quantity and visual presentation are outstanding. Also with the drinks the choice is great (wines) and the quality excellent.

As far as the staff are concerned they are all very friendly and very helpful. But what really caught our attention was the presence of manager Nicholas Russ: a gentleman who makes you feel right at home. Erich and I have traveled extensively but we have never seen the manager of a hotel of this size greeting the visitors on their arrival or return from field trips and saying goodbye to everyone at the end!

On the day of our departure he brought us to the vehicle that brought us to Punta Arenas, he introduced us to the driver and thanked us warmly and attentively for our visit to the hotel.

Erich and I were particularly impressed as we waited for our departure to see him saying goodbye to another couple, in which case he even carried a suitcase of a guest, who (the guest) was not sensitive enough to avoid this.

The transfer to Punta Arenas took 4 1/2 hours and the hotel provided us again with a “lunch box” containing water and a sandwich. Again, the driver was very friendly and informative.

Finally our stay at the hotel gave us the feeling of being far away from the rest of the world, in a place that invites you to relax, appreciate nature, forget about everyday worries, and get home like a “retouch”.

We certainly have loving memories of the Tierra Patagonia Hotel and the breathtaking beauty of the Torres del Paine National Park.

TIERRA PATAGÔNIA, LUGAR MÁGICO (PARTE I)

Tivemos o prazer de nos hospedar no hotel Tierra Patagônia e achamos que vale a pena dividir essa experiência com vocês, pelo fato de ter sido uma estadia singular. Como arquiteta, considero importante apresentar um post  sobre um exemplo de arquitetura tão espetacular. Aproveito para informar que esse blog não recebeu nenhuma contribuição financeira para publicar sobre o hotel, faz parte do nosso propósito dividir impressões sobre lugares especiais e belos nesse mundo. Por se tratar de um texto longo, o post está dividido em duas partes: o hotel e nossa experiência nele.

O HOTEL

“O hotel dos ventos”, é o slogan promocional desse lugar e faz todo o sentido, considerando que o vento é o elemento que está quase que todo o tempo presente na região. O Tierra Patagônia é uma obra prima da arquitetura integrada plenamente ao meio ambiente. Eu, como arquiteta, tive minha formação profissional sempre voltada para essa direção. Sendo assim, vocês podem imaginar a minha emoção ao avistar o hotel Tierra Patagônia pela primeira vez.

O hotel está localizado no Chile, na Patagônia Chilena, implantado em frente ao Lago Sarmiento e com uma visão panorâmica do Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, lugar mágico e de beleza estonteante. O hotel possui 4.900 m2 de área construída.

O projeto arquitetônico do hotel é de autoria da renomada arquiteta chilena Cazú Zegers. De acordo com a descrição do hotel apresentada no folder promocional: “o edifício nasce da terra, como uma dobra no terreno que o vento, um dos elementos naturais mais fortes da Patagônia, desenhou na areia…A imagem do hotel tem como objetivo assemelhar-se a um fóssil antigo, um animal pré-histórico encalhado na beira do lago, como os que foram estudados por Charles Darwin”. Durante a concepção do projeto, a arquiteta levou em consideração que a superfície do lago serve de apoio para as montanhas do Maciço Paine e é essa paisagem que todos os 40 apartamentos oferecem aos deslumbrados visitantes.  Foi exatamente essa vista, pintada com as cores do amanhecer que vislumbrei no dia do meu aniversário e que agora faz parte das minhas lembranças inesquecíveis!

O edifício foi concebido inspirado na arquitetura vernacular, ou seja, procurando utilizar os materiais e técnicas oriundos da própria terra, respeitando ao máximo a natureza e se integrando quase que totalmente na paisagem local. O prédio do Tierra Patagônia possui pilares, paredes em concreto, estrutura de metal e é ancorado no local através de rampas de acesso.

Mas, o que mais chama a atenção e confere um charme especial ao edifício é o revestimento do prédio com uma madeira originária da região chamada de lenga, a qual foi retirada de florestas sustentáveis e que possui cor semelhante à da vegetação de entorno do prédio, a estepe.

Além da forma, essa cor contribui para que o prédio se integre completamente à paisagem local. O hotel é tão integrado no cenário, que lembro, quando Erich e eu estávamos caminhando nas margens do Lago Sarmiento, quase que não podíamos identificar o hotel quando avistado de longe.

O projeto arquitetônico do interior é de autoria de Alexandra Edwards e Carolina Delpiano, que tiveram como objetivo principal enfatizar a paisagem do local e criar um clima aconchegante e acolhedor fazendo com que o hóspede se sentisse em casa. Os materiais utilizados foram: concreto aparente, revestimento de madeira tipo lenga, além de elementos de forma orgânica. Peles de ovelha podem ser encontradas em todo o hotel, bem como mantas e tapetes feitos à mão inspirados nos desenhos do povo indígena Tehuelche.

Um elemento decorativo que me chamou à a atenção foi um grande mapa da Patagônia, de autoria da artista chilena Claudia Peña, localizado na área de estar, que nos faz ver quanto a Patagônia é rica em atrativos naturais, com seus rios, lagos e montanhas.

Uma outra grande beleza do hotel, que confirma a perfeita integração entre o projeto luminotécnico e o de interiores, observei quando voltei de um passeio, já estava escurecendo e quando entrei no banheiro, avistei o destaque que a iluminação cria no desenho impresso nas portas de vidro do banheiro.

Acredito que a perfeita integração dos projetos arquitetônico, estrutural, de interiores e luminotécnico impressionam o hóspede e mais ainda, o hóspede que é profissional de uma dessas áreas.

A impressão que se tem quando a gente entra no hotel é que estamos chegando em casa depois de um passeio pelas trilhas da Patagônia, o fogo aceso, as poltronas confortáveis da sala de estar e as grandes janelas de vidro, fazem com que você queira relaxar naquele local e continuar apreciando o cenário fascinante que o Maciço Paine oferece.

OBSERVAÇÃO: o hotel funciona do início da primavera até o final do outono e está fechado durante os meses de inverno. Está distante 4 horas do aeroporto de Punta Arenas e 1,5 do de Puerto Natales, 4,5 da cidade de Calafate, na Argentina e 30 minutos de Cierro Castillo.

TIERRA PATAGONIA – EIN MAGISCHER ORT (TEIL I)

Wir hatten das Vergnügen im Hotel Tierra Patagonia zu übernachten und wir denken, dass es sich lohnt, diese Erfahrung mit Ihnen zu teilen, denn es war eine wirklich einzigartige. Als Architekt denke ich, dass es sehr lohnenswert ist, solch eine spektakuläre Architektur zu kommentieren. Der Blogpost beschreibt in 2 Teilen das Hotel und unsere Erfahrungen dort.

Das Hotel

  “Das Hotel der Winde” ist der Werbeslogan dieses Ortes und macht durchaus Sinn, wenn man bedenkt, dass der Wind das Element ist, das in dieser Region fast immer präsent ist. Tierra Patagonia ist ein architektonisches Meisterwerk, das komplett in sein Umfeld integriert ist. Ich als Architekt habe meine berufliche Ausbildung immer auf diese Richtung fokussiert. Sie können sich also meine Aufregung vorstellen, als ich das Tierra Patagonia Hotel zum ersten Mal sah.

Das Hotel befindet sich im chilenischen Patagonien vor dem See Lago Sarmiento mit einem Panoramablick auf den Nationalpark Torres del Paine, einem magischen Ort von atemberaubender Schönheit. Das Hotel verfügt über 4.900 m2 bebauter Fläche.

Das architektonische Projekt des Hotels stammt von dem renommierten chilenischen Architekten Cazú Zegers. Die Beschreibung des Hotels in der Werbebroschüre besagt: “Das Gebäude ist von der Erde geboren wie eine Falte im Boden, die der Wind, eines der stärksten Naturelemente Patagoniens, in den Sand zeichnete … das Hotelbild zielt genau darauf ab, es ähnelt einem uralten Fossil, einem prähistorischen Tier, das am Ufer des Sees gestrandet ist wie die von Charles Darwin erforschten.”

Bei der Konzeption des Projekts berücksichtigte der Architekt, dass die Oberfläche des Sees quasi als Stütze für die Berge des Massif Paine dient, und es ist genau dieser Blick in diese Landschaft, die alle 40 Apartments dem geblendeten Besucher bieten.

Es war genau diese Ansicht gemalt mit den Farben der Morgendämmerung, die ich an meinem Geburtstag erfahren konnte als Bestandteil dieser meiner hier gemachten unvergesslichen Erinnerungen!

Das Gebäude wurde von der einheimischen Architektur inspiriert, d.h. es wurde versucht, Materialien und Techniken aus der Regio selbst zu verwenden, die Natur so gut wie möglich zu respektieren und fast vollständig in die lokale Landschaft zu integrieren.

Das Tierra Patagonia Gebäude hat Pfeiler, Betonwände, eine Metallstruktur und wird durch Zugangsrampen an Ort und Stelle verankert.

Aber was die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zieht und dem Gebäude diesen besonderen Charme verleiht, ist die Auskleidung des Gebäudes mit einem Holz aus der Region namens Lenga, das aus den nachhaltig bewirtschafteten Wäldern stammt und farblich mit der Vegetation der Umwelt, der Steppe eben, übereinstimmt.

Neben der Form trägt diese Farbe dazu bei, dass das Gebäude vollständig in die örtliche Landschaft integriert wird. Das Hotel ist so in die Landschaft integriert, dass wir, als Erich und ich am Ufer des Lago Sarmiento spazieren gingen, das Hotel kaum identifizieren konnten – es wurde quasi unsichtbar!

Das architektonische Design des Interieurs stammt von Alexandra Edwards und Carolina Delpiano, deren Hauptziel es war, die Landschaft des Ortes hervorzuheben und eine warme und einladende Atmosphäre zu schaffen, in der sich der Gast zu Hause fühlt. Die verwendeten Materialien waren: scheinbarer Beton, Holzfurnier und organische Elemente. Im gesamten Hotel finden Sie Schaffelle, handgemachte Teppiche und Teppiche, die von den Designs der Tehuelche-Indianer inspiriert wurden.

Ein dekoratives Element, das meine Aufmerksamkeit besonders auf sich zog, war eine große Karte von Patagonien von der chilenischen Künstlerin Claudia Peña, die sich im Hauptaufenthaltsbereich befindet und belegt wie sehr Patagonien reich an Naturattraktionen mit seinen Flüssen, Seen und Bergen ist.

Eine weitere besondere Schönheit des Hotels wird durch die perfekte Integration zwischen Beleuchtung und Innenarchitektur bestätigt. Ich beobachtete dies, als ich von einer Tour zurückkehrte, es schon dunkel wurde und ich das Badezimmer betrat, bemerkte ich die filigrane Beleuchtung der Bemalung auf den Glastüren zu dem WC- und dem Duschbereich.

Ich glaube, dass diese perfekte Integration der Architektur-, Konstruktions-, Innen- und Beleuchtungsprojekte dem Gast schlechthin und noch mehr dem Gast, der in einem dieser Bereiche professionell tätig ist, ein besonderes Wohlgefühlsmomentum beschert.

Wenn Sie nach einer schönen Exkursion wieder im Hotel ankommen haben Sie das Gefühl, als wenn sie zuhause ankommen würden, das Kaminfeuer lodert in Ihrem Wohnzimmer, der bequeme Sessel lädt zum Entspannen ein mit einem Blick durch die groβen Panoramafenster auf die faszinierende Landschaft des Paine-Massives.

PATAGONIA – A MAGICAL PLACE (PART I)

We had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel Tierra Patagonia and we think it’s worth sharing this experience with you because it was a truly unique one. As an architect I think it is worthwhile to comment on such a spectacular architecture. The blog post describes in 2 parts the hotel and our experiences there.

The hotel

  “The Hotel of the Winds” is the advertising slogan of this place and makes sense considering that the wind is the element that is almost always present in this region. Tierra Patagonia is an architectural masterpiece that is fully integrated into its environment. As an architect I have always focused my vocational training in this direction. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw the Tierra Patagonia Hotel for the first time.

The hotel is located in Chilean Patagonia in front of Lake Sarmiento with panoramic views of the Torres del Paine National Park, a magical place of breathtaking beauty. The hotel has 4,900 m2 of built area.

The hotel’s architectural project is by the renowned Chilean architect Cazú Zegers. The description of the hotel in the brochure says: “The building was born from the earth like a fold in the ground, which the wind, one of the strongest natural elements of Patagonia, drew in the sand … the hotel picture aims exactly, it resembles one ancient fossil, a prehistoric animal stranded on the shores of the lake, as explored by Charles Darwin.”

In designing the project the architect took into account that the surface of the lake serves as a support for the mountains of the Massif Paine and it is precisely this view into this landscape that all 40 apartments offer the dazzled visitor.

It was precisely this view painted with the colors of the dawn that I was able to experience on my birthday as part of this unforgettable memories made here!

The building was inspired by vernacular architecture, an attempt was made to use materials and techniques from the region itself, to respect nature as much as possible and to integrate it almost completely into the local landscape.

The Tierra Patagonia building has pillars, concrete walls, a metal structure and is anchored in place by access ramps.

But what draws the attention and gives the building this special charm is the lining of the building with a wood from the region called Lenga, which comes from the sustainably managed forests and the color matches the vegetation of the environment, the steppe just.

In addition to the shape this color helps to fully integrate the building into the local landscape. The hotel is so integrated into the landscape that when Erich and I walked on the shores of Lago Sarmiento we could hardly identify the hotel – it was virtually invisible!

The interior design is architecturally designed by Alexandra Edwards and Carolina Delpiano, whose main objective was to highlight the landscape of the place and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which the guest feels at home. The materials used were: apparent concrete, wood veneer and organic elements. Sheepskins, handmade rugs and rugs inspired by the Tehuelche Indians are found throughout the hotel.

A decorative element that caught my attention was a large map of Patagonia by the Chilean artist Claudia Peña, located in the main  area, proving how much Patagonia is rich in natural attractions with its rivers, lakes and mountains.

Another particular beauty of the hotel is confirmed by the perfect integration between lighting and interior design. I watched this as I returned from a tour, it was getting dark and as I entered the bathroom I noticed the filigree lighting of the painting on the glass doors to the toilet and shower area.

I believe that this perfect integration of architectural, design, interior and lighting projects will bring a special sense of well-being to the guest par excellence and even more to the guest who is professional in one of these areas.

When you arrive back at the hotel after a pleasant excursion you feel as if you were arriving at home, the fireplace blazing in your living room, the comfortable armchair invites you to relax with a view through the large panoramic windows of the fascinating landscape of the Paine-Massive.

São Francisco tem o bairro Castro, considerado o primeiro bairro gay do mundo, onde todos convivem em paz. O bairro ficou famoso devido ao filme Milk (2008), que trata sobre o assunto.

Como  São Francisco é uma cidade multicultural, você vai encontrar bairros conhecidos como “Little Saigon”, “Little Italy”, “Japantown”, “Chinatown”.

São Francisco é também a cidade das compras. É no entorno da praça Union Square onde encontram-se as principais lojas que fazem a festa dos turistas, das mais básicas como Guess, Banana Republic, Gap, como as mais luxuosas como Louis Vuitton, Hermés, Prada, dentre outras. Há também as grandes lojas de departamentos como a  Macy´s.  A loja da Apple também está lá.

Dicas sobre São Francisco:

– Para chegar na cidade de transporte público (trens subterrâneos e de superfície), baixe o aplicativo BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit);

– Para circular, compre o passe que dá acesso a todos os transportes públicos. Para comprar vá no quiosque localizado no final da Rua Powell com a Rua Market e baixe o aplicativo MUNI, você vai pode descobrir qual transporte tomar para se deslocar na cidade;

– Fique esperto(a):

– A estação chuvosa vai de novembro até março, com temperaturas muito frias em dezembro e janeiro;

– A estação mais quente vai de meados de setembro ao meio de novembro;

– A época de nevoeiro ocorre, principalmente, entre a metade de junho até o meio de setembro) .

SAN FRANCISCO – DIE STADT DER GOLDEN GATE BRÜCKE        (TEIL III)

In San Franzisko existiert das Viertel Castro, das als erstes Schwulenviertel der Welt gilt und in dem alle in Frieden zusammen eben. Dieses Viertel wurde berühmt durch den Film Milk (2008), der sich mit diesem Thema auseinandersetzt.

Da San Franzisko eine definitiv multikulturelle Stadt ist, finden Sie Viertel, die als “Little Saigon”, “Little Italy”, “Japantown” oder “Chinatown” bekannt sind.

San Franzisko ist natürlich auch eine Stadt für shopping. Es ist in der Nachbarschaft des Union Square, wo Sie all die wichtigsten Geschäfte hierfür finden zur groβen Freude all der Touristen, sie finden hier alles von den einfachsten Läden wie Guess, Banana Republic, Gap, bis hin zu den luxuriösesten wie Louis Vuitton, Hermés, Prada usw. Es gibt auch die großen Kaufhäuser wie z.B. Macy’s. Und natürlich ist der Apple Store auch da.

Tipps für San Franzisko:

– Um mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln (U-Bahn und S-Bahn) in die Stadt zu gelangen, laden Sie einfach die Anwendung Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) herunter;

– Um dann zu fahren, kaufen Sie den Pass, der Zugang zu allen öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln bietet z.B. am Kiosk, der sich am Ende der Powell Street mit Market Street befindet. Dort laden Sie dann auch die MUNI-App herunter, die Ihnen anzeigt, wie Sie in der Stadt womit wann wohin fahren können.

 Überlegungen:

– Die Regenzeit dauert von November bis März mit sehr kalten Temperaturen im Dezember und Januar;

– Die heißeste Periode dauert von Mitte September bis Mitte November;

– Die Nebelsaison findet hauptsächlich zwischen Mitte Juni und Mitte September statt.

In San Francisco there is the Castro district which is the first gay district in the world and where the people all together live in peace. This neighborhood became famous through the film Milk (2008), which deals with this topic.

Since San Francisco is definitely a multicultural city you will find neighborhoods known as Little Saigon, Little Italy, Japantown or Chinatown.

San Francisco is also a city for shopping. It is in the neighborhood of Union Square where you will find all the major shops for the pleasure of all the tourists, you will find everything from the simplest shops like Guess, Banana Republic, Gap to the most luxurious such as Louis Vuitton, Hermés, Prada etc. There are also the big department stores such as Macy’s. And of course the Apple Store is there too.

Tips for San Francisco:

– To get to the city by public transport (subway and suburban train), simply download the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) application;

– To drive then buy the pass, which provides access to all public transport, e.g. at the kiosk, which is at the end of Powell Street with Market Street. There you will also download the MUNI app, which shows you how to get where and when in the city.

Considerations:

– The rainy season lasts from November to March with very cold temperatures in December and January;

– The hottest period lasts from mid-September to mid-November;

– The fog season mainly takes place between mid-June and mid-September.

Excursions:

– Participate in wine tasting in the Napa Valley

São Francisco tem o segundo maior   bairro chinês dos Estados Unidos, só perde para Nova Iorque. Eles estão lá desde a metade do século 19, quando os primeiros chineses chegaram em busca de oportunidades geradas pela Corrida do Ouro e depois devido a construção da estrada de ferro. Se você se interessa pela cultura chinesa, vale a pena adentrar pelas ruas desse bairro.

Erich e visitamos a Haight-Ashbury, local onde o movimento hippie surgiu em 1967, durante o verão, que ficou conhecido como o “Verão do Amor” (Summer of Love).

Achei bem interessante o passeio pela avenida principal do bairro, onde é possível encontrar lojas diversificadas, algumas com fachadas coloridas e vitrines bem chamativas e diferentes.

Há lojas que comercializam narguilés,

roupas para festas à fantasia,

produtos naturais, brechós e alguns barzinhos. Vi pessoas vestidas de forma bem original nas calçadas. Perto da avenida principal, a Haight Street, fica a Lyon Street, rua onde viveu Janis Joplin, no número 112.

O Golden Gate Park, nas proximidades da Haight-Ashbury foi o local onde aconteceu muitos shows que embalaram a geração hippie.

 

Atualmente o parque possui muitas atrações, como o jardim japonês do chá (Japanese Tea Garden), Young Museum (com o acervo de arte das Américas, África e Oceania), o Conservatório das Flores (Conservatory of Flowers) e a Academia de Ciências da Califórnia (California Academy of Sciences), tudo muito, muito interessante. Reserve uma parte do seu dia para visitar esses lugares, vale a pena!

 

São Francisco é um lugar para você caminhar bastante descobrindo a cidade.

Nas nossas caminhadas, passamos pela Alamo Square, uma praça bem famosa. É nas proximidades dessa praça que você pode ver as casas vitorianas, construídas entre 1892 e 1896, coloridas e chamadas de “Damas Pintadas” (Painted Ladies),lindas! Aliás, esse tipo de edificação pode ser encontrada em outras áreas da cidade.

San Franzisko beherbergt die zweitgrößte Chinatown in den Vereinigten Staaten nach New York. Man fand sie dort seit der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts, als die ersten Chinesen auf der Suche nach neuen Möglichkeiten waren, welche sich durch den Goldrausch und dann durch den Bau der Eisenbahn ergaben. Falls Sie sich für die chinesische Kultur interessieren, lohnt es sich, durch die Straßen dieses Viertels zu spazieren.

Erich und ich besuchten Haight-Ashbury, dort wo im Sommer 1967 die Hippie-Bewegung begann, die dann als „der Sommer der Liebe“ berühmt wurde.

Ich fand es hochinteressant, der Hauptstraße dieses Viertels entlang zu schlendern, wo Sie die unterschiedlichsten Geschäfte finden können, einige mit bunten Fassaden und sehr attraktiven und verschiedenen Schaufenstern.

Es gibt Geschäfte, die Wasserpfeifen, exotische Kostüme für ausgefallene Parties

In der Nähe der Hauptstraße, der Haight Street, liegt die Lyon Street, die Straße, in der Janis Joplin wohnte mit der Hausnummer 112.

Der Golden Gate Park in der Nähe von Haight-Ashbury war der Schauplatz vieler Shows, die die Hippie-Generation prägten und begeisterten. Derzeit bietet der Park viele Attraktionen wie den Japanese Tea Garden (Japanischen Teegarten), das Young Museum (das Junge Museum mit der Kunstsammlung von Amerika, Afrika und Ozeanien), das Conservatory of Flowers (Konservatorium für Blumen) und die California Academy of Sciences (Akademie der Wissenschaften von Kalifornien), alles sehr, sehr interessant. Reservieren Sie einen Teil Ihres Tages, um diese Dinge zu besuchen, es lohnt sich!

SAN FRANZISKO – THE CITY OF THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE (PART II)

San Francisco houses the second largest Chinatown in the United States behind New York. They were found there since the mid-nineteenth century, when the first Chinese were searching for new opportunities which resulted from the gold rush and then the construction of the railroad.

If you are interested in Chinese culture it is worth taking a walk through the streets of this neighborhood.

Erich and I visited Haight-Ashbury where the hippie movement began in the summer of 1967, which became famous as the “Summer of Love“.

I found it very interesting to stroll along the main street of this neighborhood, where you can find a variety of shops, some with colorful facades and very attractive and different shop windows.

There are shops that sell water pipes, exotic costumes for fancy parties

and natural products, but you can also find second hand stores and many bars. I saw people dressed  in the most orginell way on the side walks.

Close to the main street, Haight Street, is Lyon Street, the street where Janis Joplin lived at number 112.

The Golden Gate Park near Haight-Ashbury was the scene of many shows that influenced and inspired the hippie generation. Currently, the park offers many attractions such as the Japanese Tea Garden, the Young Museum (art of America, Africa and Oceania), the Conservatory of Flowers and the California Academy of Sciences. All this is very, very interesting. Reserve a part of your day to visit these spots, it’s worth it!

San Francisco is a city that invites you for a walk to make discoveries.

On our walks we also passed Alamo Square, a city-known square.

Close by are the Victorian houses, built between 1892 and 1896, very colorful and called “Painted Ladies”, beautiful!

In fact, this type of houses can also be found in other areas of the city.

São Francisco está localizada na parte oeste dos Estados Unidos, no estado da Califórnia, é banhada pelo Oceano Pacífico e possui aproximadamente 900 mil habitantes.

É uma cidade tão interessante, cheia de atrativos que dividi o assunto em três posts.

A primeira imagem quando pensamos sobre São Francisco, é a ponte Golden Gate, eternizada em filmes, que liga os dois lados da Baía de São Francisco e que completou 80 anos no dia 27/05/2017, dia do aniversário de Erich.

São Francisco está localizada numa península entre a Baía de São Francisco e o Oceano Pacífico, por isso a cidade tem uma longa orla, onde estão situadas muitas das atrações bem concorridas,

dentre as quais o Ferry Building Marketingplace, em Embarcadero, de onde saem as embarcações para as cidades de Sausalito e Tiburon. O Ferry Building, além de ser um mercado municipal, é um local onde você pode saborear muitas comidinhas. Visitei o local em um domingo,

quando estava cheio de turistas e de habitantes locais. Vi muitos grupos musicais ou mesmo um único artista fazendo seu show animado e contagiante.

Desse ponto, dá para ir caminhando ao Fisherman´s Wharf, famoso centro gastronômico e de lazer.

Quando passei pelo Píer 39, vi um certo alvoroço e um som estranho vindo da água: eram os leões marinhos, os habitantes mais ilustres do píer, há uma colônia deles que tomam sol nos deques criados especialmente para eles.

É também no Píer 39 que você tem uma vista espetacular da Ponte Golden Gate, da Ilha de Alcatraz e da Baía de São Francisco.

O local também possui muitos restaurantes especializados em pratos à base de caranguejo, como a clam chowder, um tipo de sopa deliciosa.

Nessa mesma área, você vai encontrar a padaria mais famosa da cidade, a Boundin Bakery, onde todo mundo quer provar um pão muito especial chamado Sourdough bread.

No meu caso, vi o pão, fiquei com água na boca, mas, não tive coragem para enfrentar a longa fila para comprá-lo. A dica é pedir o Sourdough bread bowl, onde um caldo quente é servido dentro do pão. Mas, fica para uma outra vez…

Se você viu algum filme ou se interessa pelo assunto, vale a pena fazer o tour até Ilha de Alcatraz, apelidada de “The Rock”, foi uma base militar depois se tornou uma prisão de segurança máxima. Foi desativada em 1963. O passeio sai do Píer 33 e custa em torno de US$ 30,00.

Desde a década de 60, quando sediou muitos movimentos sociais e comportamentais, São Francisco é “lar” de muitas pessoas oriundas de diversas partes do mundo, destacando-se os chineses e latinos. Escutei diversos idiomas quando estava por lá. Observei que boa parte de cartazes, de placas, estavam sempre em mais de um idioma, além do inglês.

Quando estava na fila para usar o bonde (trolley), o símbolo de São Francisco, vi a sinalização em inglês e chinês.

Aliás, se você quiser passear nesse transporte, vá para rua Powell, onde ele tem várias paradas, custa US$7,00 por pessoa. A linha mais procurada pelos turistas é a Powell/Hide que vai até o alto da Lombard Street, aquela rua cheia de curvas a que a gente vê nos filmes.

Es ist eine so sehr interessante Stadt voller Attraktionen, so daβ wir sie in drei Beiträgen vorstellen.

Das erste Bild, wenn wir an San Francisco denken, ist die in unzähligen Filmen verewigte Golden Gate Bridge, welche die beiden Seiten der Bucht von San Francisco verbindet und am 27.05.2017, übrigens dem Geburtstag Erichs, 80 Jahre alt wurde.

San Franzisko liegt auf einer Halbinsel zwischen der Bucht von San Franzisko und dem Pazifischen Ozean. Daher offeriert die Stadt einen langen Küstenstreifen, an dem sich viele der bekannten Sehenswürdigkeiten befinden,

darunter die Kaianlagen des Ferry Building Marketingplace in Embarcadero. Von hier laufen die Boote zu den Städten Sausalito und Tiburon   aus. Das Ferry Building ist nicht nur ein kommunaler Markt, sondern auch ein Ort, an dem Sie viele Snacks genießen können. Ich besuchte den Ort an einem Sonntag,

als er voll von Touristen und Einheimischen war. Ich konnte viele Musikgruppen und Künstler  mit ihren animierenden  Shows betrachten und genieβen.

Von hier aus können Sie weiter zu Fisherman’s Wharf, einem berühmten Gastronomie- und Freizeitzentrum, spazieren.

Als ich am Pier 39 vorbeiging, hörte ich Aufschreie und seltsame Geräusch vom Wasser her: es waren die Seelöwen, die berühmtesten Bewohner des Piers, eine Kolonie von ihnen sonnte sich auf den Decks, die speziell für sie geschaffen wurden.

Vom Pier 39 aus haben Sie einen spektakulären Blick auf die Golden Gate Bridge, die Insel Alcatraz und die Bucht von San Franzisko.

Die Lokalität verfügt über viele Restaurants, die sich auf Krabbengerichte wie Clam Chowder spezialisiert haben, eine  köstliche Suppe.

Gleichfalls finden Sie hier die berühmteste Bäckerei der Stadt, die Boundin Bakery, wo man ein ganz besonderes Brot namens Sourdough bread (ein Sauerteigbrot) probieren konnte.

Mir lief das Wasser im Mund zusammen, aber ich wollte mich nicht in  der extrem langen Schlange anstellen, um es zu kaufen. Der Tipp ist es, die Sourdough bread bowl (Sauerteig-Brotschüssel) zu bestellen, in der innerhalb eine heiße Suppe serviert wird, hum, also dann ein anderes Mal…

Falls Sie den Film gesehen haben oder das Thema interessiert, dann lohnt die Tour nach Alcatraz Island wert, genannt “The Rock”, es war ehemals eine Militärbasis, dann ein Hochsicherheitsgefängnis bevor es schlieβlich 1963 deaktiviert wurde. Die Tour startet am Pier 33 und kostet ca. 30 US$.

Seit den 1960er Jahren ist San Francisco die Heimat vieler Menschen aus allen Teilen der Welt, besonders aus China und Lateinamerika. Ich hörte immer viele unterschiedliche Sprachen und auch schriftliche Informationen sind oft vielsprachig ausgelegt.

Als ich in der Schlange stand, um den exotischen Cable-Car (ein weiteres Postkarten-Symbol von San Franzisko) zu benutzen war alles hierzu in Englisch und Chinesisch beschrieben.

Fahren Sie damit zur Powell Street, wo es gleich mehrere Haltestellen gibt, die Fahrt kostet US$ 7,00 pro Person. Die begehrteste Haltestelle dort für Touristen ist die Powell/Hide, oberhalb der Lombard Street,

diese extrem kurvige Straße, die Sie sicher aus Filmen kennen, wird auch als die verrückteste Straβe dieser Welt bezeichnet.

San Francisco is located in the western part of the US in the state of California, it is lapped by the Pacific Ocean and has about 900,000 inhabitants.

It is such a very interesting city full of attractions so that we present it in three posts.

The first image when we think of San Francisco is the in countless films immortalized Golden Gate Bridge, which connects the two sides of the Bay of San Francisco and became on May 27 2017 80 years old, which was the birthday of Erich.

San Francisco is located on a peninsula between the Bay of San Francisco and the Pacific Ocean. Therefore the city offers a long stretch of coastline, the home to many of the well-known attractions

including the quayside of the Ferry Building Marketingplace in Embarcadero. From here, boats leave for the towns of Sausalito and Tiburon. The Ferry Building is not only a municipal market, but also a place where you can enjoy many snacks. I visited the place on a Sunday

when it was full of tourists and locals. I was able to watch and enjoy many music groups and artists with their animated shows.

From there you can continue to Fisherman’s Wharf, a famous food and entertainment center.

When I passed Pier 39, I heard screams and strange sounds from the water: they were from the sea lions, the most famous inhabitants of the pier, a colony of them basking on the decks specially made for them.

From Pier 39 you have spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and San Francisco Bay.

The location has many restaurants specializing in crab dishes such as clam chowder, a delicious soup.

You will also find here the most famous bakery in the city, the Boundin Bakery where you could taste a very special bread called Sourdough bread.

My mouth was watering, but I did not want to wait in the extremely long queue to buy it. The tip is to order the Sourdough bread bowl, which serves hot soup inside, so then, another time…

If you’ve seen the movie or are interested in the topic, then it’s worth the trip to Alcatraz Island, called “The Rock”, it used to be a military base, then a high security prison before it was deactivated in 1963. The tour starts at Pier 33 and costs about US $ 30.

Since the 1960s San Francisco became home to many people from all over the world, especially from China and Latin America. I have always heard many different languages there and written information is often multilingual.

When I was queuing to use the exotic cable car (another postcard symbol of San Francisco), everything was described in English and Chinese.

Take it to Powell Street, which has several stops and it costs US $ 7.00 per person. The most sought-after stop for tourists there is the Powell/Hide, above Lombard Street,

PIRENÓPOLIS, UMA VOLTA AO PASSADO COLONIAL/PIRENOPOLIS – RÜCKKEHR ZUR KOLONIALEN VERGANGENHEIT/PIRENOPOLIS – RETURN TO THE COLONIAL PAST

O Brasil é um país de grandes dimensões, com lugares incríveis e muitas belezas. Dentre esses locais, ressalto Pirenópolis, localizada no estado de Goiás

e distante em torno de 130 km da capital Goiânia, com aproximadamente 24 000 habitantes.

É uma boa opção de passeio para quem se interessa em conhecer mais sobre a história do Brasil.

Pirenópolis, carinhosamente chamada de Piri, integra a lista de lugares visitados que integram nosso livro 66 x Brasil e originou-se de um acampamento de garimpeiros que buscavam pedras preciosas às margens do Rio das Almas, inicialmente chamada de Meia Ponte.

A cidadezinha encanta pelo seu clima bucólico, que nos remete ao passado colonial brasileiro, além do relevante conjunto arquitetônico, histórico, paisagístico  e cultural. Os pirenopolinos são hospitaleiros e simpáticos.

 

A cidade oferece uma boa rede de hospedagem e uma gastronomia bem diversificada. Eu, como arquiteta e apreciadora de cidades históricas, gostei muito de passear à pé pelo centro com seus monumentos  tombados  (Igreja do Carmo, Museu de Arte Sacra do Carmo, Museu das Artes do Divino, Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Igreja de Nosso Senhor do Bonfim,

Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, Teatro de Pirenópolis, Casa de Câmara e Cadeia, Cine Teatro Pireneus, Ponte Sobre o Rio das Almas) pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional – IPHAN. É quando se tem a oportunidade de se apreciar os seus casarões, Igrejas, além de se observar o traçado urbano utilizado na época colonial. A Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário é uma das paradas obrigatórias. Vale também apreciar a beleza na ponte sobre o Rio das Almas, dentre outros.

Além disso, pode-se se fazer passeios a partir de Pirenópolis para se apreciar a natureza do  entorno, como a visita as Cachoeiras Usina Velha e do Abade

(há outras cachoeiras) visita à Fazenda Babilônia (antigo Engenho de Açúcar tombado pelo IPHAN) fazer tirolesa, rapel, trilhas interpretativas no Santuário de Vida Silvestre Vagafogo, dentre outros. São vários os passeios, recomendo utilizar os serviços de guias de turismo credenciados. Se você for de carro, há passeios que você pode fazer sem guia, como no caso da visita às cachoeiras, por exemplo.

E Pirenópolis à noite? Claro que você tem que ir jantar na Rua do Lazer, ladeada por bons restaurantes e lojinhas bem bacanas!

São muitos os eventos realizados na cidade,

porém o mais famoso é a Festa do Divino Espírito Santo,

que acontece desde 1819, 50 dias após a celebração da Páscoa (no ano de 2018 vai acontecer entre 19 a 23 de maio) e também é tombada Patrimônio Cultural Nacional.  O ponto alto dessa manifestação popular é quando acontece as Cavalhadas, que encantam a todos! Vale também a visita ao pequeno Museu das Cavalhadas para conhecer mais sobre esse importante evento cultural.

Enfim, Pirenópolis é definitivamente uma preciosidade brasileira que vale a visita!

PIRENOPOLIS – RÜCKKEHR ZUR KOLONIALEN VERGANGENHEIT

Brasilien ist ein Land von riesigen Dimensionen mit unglaublichen Orten und viel Schönheit. Unter diesen Orten befindet sich Pirenópolis, im Staat Goiás

etwa ca. 130 km von der Hauptstadt Goiânia entfernt gelegen, mit ca. 24 000 Einwohnern.

Pirenopolis ist eine gute Option für diejenigen, die mehr über die Geschichte Brasiliens erfahren möchten.

Pirenópolis, liebevoll auch Piri genannt, ist Teil der Liste der besuchten Orte in unserem Buch 66 x Brasilien. Ursprünglich war es ein Lager von Goldsuchern, die am Ufer des Flusses Rio das Almas, der ursprünglich Meia Ponte hieß, Edelsteine suchten.

Die kleine Stadt bezaubert durch ihr bukolisches Klima und mit   ihrer bedeutungsvollen architektonischen, historischen, landschaftlichen und kulturellen Komplexität führt sie uns in die brasilianische koloniale Vergangenheit zurück. Die Pirenopolianer sind gastfreundlich und sympathisch.

Die Stadt bietet gute Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten und eine vielfältige Gastronomie. Als Architekt und Enthusiast historischer Städte habe ich es genossen, durch das Zentrum mit all seinen Monumenten zu spazieren (die Kirche Igreja do Carmo/das Museum Museu de Arte Sacra do Carmo, das Museum Museu das Artes do Divino, die Kirche Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, die Kirche Igreja de Nosso Senhor do Bonfim,

die Kirche Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, das Theater von Pirenópolis, das Gemeindehaus und Gefängnis, das Kino Teatro Pireneus, die Brücke Ponte Sobre über den Fluss Rio das Almas) und durch das nationale Institut für Gechichts- und Kunsterbe – IPHAN. Somit haben Sie also die Möglichkeit, Häuser, Gebäude, Kirchen und ein städtebauliches Layout  der Kolonialzeit Brasiliens  betrachten und genießen zu können . Obligatorisch hierbei der Besuch der Kirche Unserer Lieben Frau do Rosario. Lohnenswert ist auch der Anblick der Brücke über den Fluss Rio das Almas.

Darüber hinaus kann man von Pirenópolis aus Ausflüge unternehmen, um die Natur seiner Umgebung zu genießen wie z.B. der Besuch der Wasserfälle Usina Velha und Abade

(es gibt weitere Wasserfälle), der Besuch der Farm Babilônia (frühere Zuckerpresse) Zipline, Abseilen, Lehrpfade im Vagafogo Wildlife Sanctuary usw.

Es gibt unterschiedliche Touren, ich empfehle die Nutzung von akkreditierten Reiseleitern. Wenn Sie mit dem eigenen Wagen unterwegs sind , dann gibt es Touren, die Sie ohne Führer unternehmen können wie zum Beispiel beim Besuch von Wasserfällen.

Und Pirenopolis bei Nacht? Natürlich muss man in der Rua do Lazer zu Abend essen, flankiert von guten Restaurants und netten Geschäften!

Es gibt viele Veranstaltungen in der Stadt,

aber das berühmteste ist das groβe Fest Festa do Divino Espírito Santo (Pfingsten),

das seit 1819 immer 50 Tage nach Ostern stattfindet, es wird auch als Nationales Kulturerbe zelebriert. Der Höhepunkt dieser populären Manifestation ist, wenn die Cavalhadas stattfinden, einfach bezaubernd! Es lohnt sich auch, das kleine Cavalhadas Museum zu besuchen, um mehr über dieses wichtige kulturelle Ereignis zu erfahren.

Wie auch immer – Pirenopolis ist jedenfalls ein brasilianisches Juwel, das einen Besuch sehr wert ist!

PIRENOPOLIS – RETURN TO THE COLONIAL PAST

Brazil is a country of huge dimensions with incredible places and a lot of beauty. Among these places is Pirenópolis, located in the state of Goiás

about 130 km from the capital Goiânia, with about 24 000 inhabitants.

Pirenopolis is a great option for those who want to learn more about the history of Brazil.

Pirenópolis, lovingly also called Piri, is part of the list of places visited in our book 66 x Brazil. Originally it was a camp of prospectors looking for gems on the banks of the River Rio das Almas, originally called Meia Ponte.

The small town charms with its bucolic climate and with its significant architectural, historical, scenic and cultural complexity, it takes us back to the Brazilian colonial past. The Pirenopolians are hospitable and sympathetic.

The city offers good accommodation and a varied gastronomy. As an architect and enthusiast of historic cities I enjoyed walking through the center with all its monuments (the church of Igreja do Carmo / the Museu de Arte Sacra do Carmo Museum, the Museum of the Artes do Divino, the church of Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Nosso Senhor do Bonfim Church,

Nossa Senhora do Carmo Church, Pirenópolis Theater, Municipal House and Prison, Cinema Teatro Pireneus, the Bridge Ponte Sobre across the Rio das Almas) and through the National Institute for Geography and Art Heritage – IPHAN. So you have the opportunity to view and enjoy houses, buildings, churches and an urban layout of the colonial era of Brazil. Obligatory here is the visit of the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário. Worthwhile is the sight of the bridge over the river Rio das Almas.

In addition, you can make trips from Pirenópolis to enjoy the nature of its surroundings, such as visits to the waterfalls Usina Velha and Abade

(there are more waterfalls), the visit to the farm Babilônia (former sugar press) Zipline, abseiling, nature trails in the Vagafogo Wildlife Sanctuary etc.

Punta Cana é um balneário localizado na República Dominicana, ilha integrante das Grandes Antilhas, na província de La Altagracia, onde o Oceano Atlântico encontra-se com o Mar do Caribe.

Não há necessidade de visto para turista brasileiro, porém, é necessário pagar 10,00 U$ quando você desembarca no aeroporto, depois do pagamento, seu passaporte é carimbado, tudo fucionou rápido no dia em que chegamos lá.

São muitos os resorts localizados nessa área. Aliás, a costa do país é pontilhada por mais de sessenta resorts.

Fiquei hospedada no hotel Four Points Sheraton, integrante do Punta Cana Club & Resort, é o hotel mais próximo do aeroporto (uns 6 minutos) e que não estava localizado diretamente à beira-mar. Escolhemos esse hotel porque a parada em Punta Cana foi o ponto final de uma viagem pelos Estados Unidos e Canadá que durou quase 40 dias (veja os posts – Nova Iorque, Toronto,  Nuir Woods, Las Vegas I e Las Vegas II, Parque Nacional da Baía do Glaciar ,  Glaciar Hubard no Alaska, relacionados com essa viagem).

Bom, voltando a Punta Cana, o nosso hotel, inserido no Punta Cana  oferece transfer para a Playa Blanca, Hotel Westin, Club de Golf, Restaurante La Yola e reserva floresta Olhos Indígenas.

Punta Cana é um destino para você descansar. Funciona assim: você escolhe o resort que esteja com preço adequado para seu bolso, com sistema All Inclusive e aí você passa uma semana somente descansando no seu hotel e nas proximidades.

No próprio hotel há informações sobre tours que você pode fazer fora do resort, que são passeios para mergulhar, fazer snokerling, passeios de barco, dentre outros. Há também um tour para ir até a cidade de São Domingos, capital da República Dominicana. São três horas para ir e 3 para voltar. Se você estiver disposto(a) a passar 6 horas dentro de um ônibus, então, vá nessa…Santo Domingo tem o centro histórico integrante da lista de bens culturais tombados pela UNESCO.

Eu fiquei encantada com a Playa Blanca, onde você tem acesso à praia através de um restaurante que oferece o conforto necessário o turista aproveitar o dia, com espreguiçadeiras, som longe na beira da praia, coqueiros, além de um mar azul,fabuloso, areia branquinha e garçons simpáticos.

Aliás, falando de garçons, a conta vem em peso dominicano, euro e dólar americano. Você escolhe como quer pagar. A conta já vem com os 10% do serviço incluso. Porém, recomenda-se pagar 10% a mais como gorjeta extra, calculada em cima do valor total da conta sem as taxas. Se você pagar em dólares, você recebe o troco em dólares.

Outro aspecto que me chamou a atenção, foi a simpatia do povo, me lembrou a receptividade dos brasileiros.

Punta Cana e outros lugares praianos na República Dominicana é definitivamente um destino recomendado para quem quer passar uns dias de sossego e paz com paisagens paradisíacas. Mais uma informação importante: evite viajar para lá nos meses de agosto, setembro, outubro e novembro, pois  há riscos de furacão. O período de alta estação começa no Natal e se estende até o mês de abril quando chove menos e os preços são mais caros, preço de alta estação turística.

A Gol opera voos 2 vezes por semana para Punta Cana com duração de 7 horas de voo. Os brasileiros estão entre os turistas que mais visitam o país.*

Importante: o desembarque no aeroporto de Punta Cana é tumultuado, motoristas de táxis e de vans abordam os turistas de forma agressiva. Por isso, recomendo que você organize o transfer até seu hotel com antecedência. Fora esse inconveniente, achei tudo muito bom!

Man braucht kein Visum als brasilianischer Tourist, jedoch sind bei der Einreise 10 US $ zu bezahlen, am Tag unserer Ankunft   am Flughafen verlief alles relativ flott und wir hatten nach Bezahlung rasch die Einreisestempel in unseren Pässen

Es gibt viele Ferien-Resorts in dieser Gegend. In der Tat ist die Küste des Landes von mehr als sechzig Resorts punktiert.

Wir übernachteten im Four Points Sheraton, einem Mitglied des Punta Cana Club & Resort, welches das nächstgelegene Hotel zum Flughafen ist (ca. 6 Minuten) und nicht direkt am Meer liegt.

Punta Cana ist ein Ziel  zum Ausruhen, zum Relaxen.

Es funktioniert so: Sie wählen das Resort, das Ihren Geld-Vorstellungen mit All-Inclusive-System  entspricht, und dann verbringen Sie eine Woche nur in Ihrem Hotel und in seiner Umgebung zum Relaxen.

Im Hotel selbst gibt es Informationen über Ausflüge, die Sie außerhalb des Resorts unternehmen können, darunter auch  Tauchen, Schnorcheln, Bootsfahrten.

Es gibt auch eine Tour in die Stadt Santo Domingo, der Hauptstadt der Dominikanischen Republik. Es sind jeweils drei Stunden hin und  zurück. Falls Sie also bereit sind, 6 Stunden in einem Bus zu verbringen, dann also los…das historische Zentrum von Santo Domingo  findet sich in der Liste der Kulturgüter der UNESCO.

Ich war begeistert vom Strand Playa Blanca, wo man den Zugang zum Strand durch ein Restaurant findet, das den Besuchern den notwendigen Komfort bietet für den Tag am Strand mit Liegestühlen, Musik, Kokospalmen und einem fabelhaften blauen Meer, weißem Sand und freundlichen Kellnern.

Apropo Kellner, die Rechnung kommt in Dominikanischem Peso, Euro und US-Dollar. Sie wählen, wie Sie bezahlen möchten und die Rechnung beinhaltet bereits 10% Service. Es wird jedoch empfohlen, 10% mehr als Extra Trinkgeld zu geben.

Ein weiterer Aspekt, der meine Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zog, war die Freundlichkeit und Sympathie der Menschen, die mich sehr an die Gastfreundschaft der Brasilianer erinnerten.

Punta Cana und andere Orte in der Dominikanischen Republik sind definitiv ein geeignetes Ziel für diejenigen, die ein paar Tage Ruhe suchen und diese in einer paradiesische Landschaft verbringen möchten.

Noch eine wichtige Information: Vermeiden Sie Reisen in den Monaten August, September, Oktober und November, da dann Hurrikan-Risiken bestehen. Die Hochsaison beginnt an Weihnachten und erstreckt sich bis zum Monat April, wenn es weniger regnet und alles teurer ist, Hochsaisonpreise eben.

Wichtiger Hinweis: Am Flughafen von Punta Cana geht es nach der Landung turbulent zu, Taxi- und Minibus-Van-Fahrer offerieren den Touristen ihren Service fast schon in aufdringlicher, aggressiver Art und Weise.

Daher empfehle ich, daβ Sie den Transfer zu Ihrem Resort/Hotel schon im Voraus arrangieren.

Ansonsten fand ich alles sehr gut!

You do not need a visa as a Brazilian tourist, but you have to pay 10 US $ on arrival, on the day of our arrival at the airport everything was relatively fast and we had after payment quickly the entry stamps in our passports

There are many holiday resorts in this area. In fact, the coast of the country is dotted by more than sixty resorts.

We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton, a member of the Punta Cana Club & Resort, which is the closest hotel to the airport (about 6 minutes) and is not located right at the ocean.

The hotel itself provides information about out-of-resort excursions, including scuba diving, snorkelling, boat trips.

There is also a tour to the city of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. There are three hours each way back and forth. So if you’re ready to spend 6 hours on a bus, then go … the historic center of Santo Domingo is on UNESCO’s list of cultural assets.

I loved the Playa Blanca beach, where you can find access to the beach through a restaurant that offers the necessary comfort for the day on the beach with sun loungers, music, coconut palms and a fabulous blue sea, white sand and friendly waiters.

Apropo waiters, the bill comes in Dominican Peso, Euros and US Dollars. You choose how you want to pay and the bill already includes 10% service. However, it is recommended to tip 10% extra more.

Another aspect that attracted my attention was the friendliness and sympathy of the people, who reminded me a lot of the hospitality of the Brazilians.

Punta Cana and other places in the Dominican Republic are definitely a suitable destination for those who are looking for a few days rest and want to spend them in a paradisiacal landscape.

One more important piece of information: Avoid traveling in the months of August, September, October and November, as there are hurricane risks.

The high season starts at Christmas and extends to the month of April, when it rains less and everything is more expensive, high season prices.

Important note: At the airport of Punta Cana there is a turbulent atmosphere after landing, taxi and minibus van drivers offer the service almost in an obtrusive, aggressive manner.

PARQUE NACIONAL DA BAÍA DO GLACIAR NO ALASKA/DER GLACIER BAY NATIONALPARK IN ALASKA/THE GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK IN ALASKA

Uma das paisagens mais espetaculares que vi durante a viagem de cruzeiro que fiz no Alaska com Erich, foi a do Parque Nacional da Baía do Glaciar (Glacier Bay National Park ). Trata-se de uma área com 3.3. milhões de hectares composta por montanhas, geleiras, florestas, além de rios, baías e cachoeiras. Há também uma rica vida selvagem.

Esse parque está localizado a oeste de Juneau, no sudeste do Alaska e é acessível apenas de barco e de avião. Essa área protegida integra o Sistema Nacional de Parques, que incluir 390 unidades de conservação dos Estados Unidos.

Essa Unidade de Conservação é o ponto mais bonito da Passagem de Dentro (Inside Passage) e é parte dos 25 milhões de acres que integram o Patrimônio Natural da Humanidade da UNESCO, sendo uma das maiores áreas tombadas por essa instituição.

É no entorno da Baía do Glaciar onde estão localizados o Glaciar Margerie, o Lamplugh, os Montes Abdallah (1818m), o Mesriam (1.549 m), a Montanha de Mármores (1026m) dentre outras maravilhas que emolduram a baía.

Erich ficou muito impressionado com a beleza do parque e com sua grandiosidade. O lugar encanta pelas cores, pelas montanhas, pelos glaciares e pela natureza intocada. Tudo é imenso e fascinante.

Quando o navio se aproximou do Glaciar Margerie, pude escutar os estrondos e ver pedaços da geleira caindo no mar. Quando chegamos próximos à montanha de gelo foi possível escutar o som de milhares de pássaros.

Você pode ver as belezas desse parque durante um cruzeiro pelo Alaska, como eu e Erich fizemos ou você pode se hospedar no Glacier Bay Lodge, que é o hotel para os que querem aproveitar por mais tempo as belezas da região. O acesso ao lodge é feito com táxi aéreo que parte de Juneau, Skagway ou Haines.

O lodge oferece passeios como o passeio de barco de um dia, de três dias onde você pode apreciar melhor a vida selvagem. Existe também a possibilidade de acampar no Bartlett Cove Campground no período de 1 de maio à 30 de setembro, mas, é necessário solicitar a autorização, que inclui: lenha, uma cabana com aquecimento e armário para guarda de alimentos resistentes aos ursos. O parque oferece também a possibilidade de praticar caiaque , voos panorâmicos, observação de baleias e orcas, passeios guiados pela floresta, dentre outros. São muitas as opções de passeios nesse parque.

Abril, maio e junho são os meses que chove menos, é a época mais recomendada para visitar o parque. Setembro e outubro são os meses que chove mais.

Inesquecível, memorável, espetacular é o Parque Nacional da Baía do Glaciar.

DER GLACIER BAY NATIONALPARK

Eine der spektakulärsten Landschaften, die ich während dieser Kreuzfahrt mit Erich in Alaska gesehen habe, war der Glacier Bay Nationalpark. Es ist ein Gebiet mit 3,3 Millionen Hektar mit Bergen, Gletschern, Wäldern, Flüssen, Buchten und Wasserfällen. Es existiert auch eine sehr reiche Tierwelt.

Dieser Park liegt westlich von Juneau im Südosten von Alaska und ist nur per Boot und Flugzeug erreichbar. Diese geschützte Region ist Teil des National-Park-System, das 390 Naturschutzgebiete in den Vereinigten Staaten umfasst.

Der Park ist der schönste Punkt der Inside-Passage und ist Teil der 250.000 Hektar, die dem UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe angehören und somit eine der größten von dieser Institution abgedeckten Region darstellen.

In der Nähe von Glacier Bay befinden sich der Margerie-Gletscher, der Lamplugh, der Berg Mount Abdallah (1818m), der Mesriam (1.549m), der Berg Marble Mountain (1026m) und andere Wunder, die die Bucht umrahmen.

Erich war sehr beeindruckt von der Schönheit des Parks und seiner Größe. Der Ort bezaubert durch die Farben, die Berge, die Gletscher und durch die unberührte Natur. Alles ist immens und faszinierend.

Als sich das Schiff dem Margerie Glacier näherte, konnte ich die Gletscher-Eis-Abstürze hören und die Gletscherstücke ins Meer fallen sehen. Als wir uns den gewaltigen Eiswänden näherten, war es möglich, das Geräusch von Tausenden von Vögeln zu hören.

Sie können die Schönheiten dieses Parks während einer Alaska-Kreuzfahrt genieβen wie Erich und ich es getan haben oder Sie buchen die Glacier Bay Lodge, ein Hotel für diejenigen, die die Schönheit dieser Gegend länger auskosten möchten. Der Zugang zur Lodge erfolgt mit dem Air-Taxi (kleines Flugzeug-Taxi) von Juneau, Skagway oder Haines.

Die Lodge offeriert  ein- bis dreitägige Bootstouren, ideal zum beobachten der Tierwelt.

Es besteht auch die Möglichkeit vom 1. Mai bis zum 30. September auf dem Campingplatz Bartlett Cove zu campen, es ist jedoch eine Genehmigung erforderlich, die Folgendes umfasst: Brennholz, eine beheizte Kabine und einen barrierefesten Aufbewahrungsschrank für Lebensmittel zum Schutz vor Bären.

Der Park bietet auch die Möglichkeit für geführte Kajaktouren, Panoramaflüge, Beobachtung von Wal-und Killerwalen, geführte Wanderungen in den Wäldern und vieles mehr.

April, Mai und Juni sind die Monate mit weniger Regen, also die beste Zeit für einen Besuch. September und Oktober sind die Monate mit sehr viel Regenniederschlägen.

Einfach denkwürdig, unvergesslich, spektakulär – der Glacier Bay National Park.

THE GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK IN ALASKA

One of the most spectacular landscapes I saw while cruising with Erich in Alaska was the Glacier Bay National Park. It is an area of 3.3 million hectares with mountains, glaciers, forests, rivers, coves and waterfalls. There is also a very rich wildlife.

This park is located west of Juneau in southeastern Alaska and can only be reached by boat and plane. This protected area is part of the National Park System, which includes 390 nature reserves in the United States.

The park is the most beautiful point of the Inside Passage and is part of the 250,000 hectares of the UNESCO World Heritage, making it one of the largest areas covered by this institution.

Near Glacier Bay are the Margerie Glacier, the Lamplugh, Mount Abdallah (1818m), the Mesriam (1,549m), the Marble Mountain (1026m) and other wonders that frame the bay.

Erich was very impressed with the beauty of the park and its size. The place is enchanted by the colors, the mountains, the glaciers and the untouched nature. Everything is immense and fascinating.

As the ship approached the Margerie Glacier I could hear the glacial ice crashes and see the huge glaciers ice-pieces falling into the sea. As we approached the mighty ice-walls it was possible to hear the sound of thousands of birds.

You can enjoy the beauties of this park during an Alaskan cruise as Erich and I did or you book the Glacier Bay Lodge, a hotel for those who want to enjoy the beauty of the area for longer. Access to the lodge is by air taxi (small plane taxi) from Juneau, Skagway or Haines.

The lodge offers one- to three-day boat tours, ideal for watching the wildlife.

It is also possible to camp at the Bartlett Cove campsite from 1 May to 30 September, but a permit is required including: firewood, a heated cabin and a barrier-strong food storage cabinet to protect against bears.

The park also offers the possibility for guided kayak tours, panoramic flights, whale and killer-whale watching, guided hikes in the woods and much more.

April, May and June are the months with less rain, so the best time to visit. September and October are the months with a lot of rainfall.

Simply memorable, unforgettable, spectacular – the Glacier Bay National Park.

Praia do Futuro

Como moro em Natal, de vez em quando vou passar o final de semana em Fortaleza, cidade com, aproximadamente, 3 milhões de habitantes!

O grande “point” da capital cearense é a sua orla marítima com destaque para o trecho entre a Praia de Mucuripe até a de Iracema, com a Ponte dos Ingleses que avança no mar.

O coração da orla é o ponto onde está localizada a Feirinha de Artesanato. Na praia de Mucuripe dá para fazer belas fotos.

Durante o verão, há shows e outros eventos na larga faixa de areia da Praia de Iracema, onde a cidade faz um festão a beira-mar na noite do dia 31 de dezembro. Um dos bons programas é caminhar na orla.

Além disso, há atrativos isolados que valem a visita, como o Teatro José de Alencar, o Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar, com exposições de arte, cinema museu, área para a realização de grande shows.

Há também o Mercado Central com muitas lojinhas de artesanato, a Encetur, é  outro lugar onde você encontra belas peças artesanais.

A visita a Praia do Futuro é um programa de um dia, para ir comer caranguejo e passar o dia na praia. Tem “superbarracas”, você tem que escolher a trilha sonora que mais lhe agrada e ter paciência para a cada cinco minutos dizer “não obrigado” aos muitos vendedores ambulantes que lhe oferecem produtos diversificados.

Um dos programas recomendados para quem gosta de dançar forró, é visitar o bar Pirata, localizado na Praia de Iracema, onde há muita animação nas segundas-feiras.

Fortaleza é o portão de entrada para a realização de diversos passeios fora da cidade. Os mais comercializados são Beach Park, praias de Morro Branco, das Fontes, Águas Belas, Mundaú, Cumbuco, Lagoinha, Canoa Quebrada, Jericoacoara, sendo que as duas últimas não recomendo um bate volta.

Fortaleza tem também muitos shoppings centers, destaque para o Iguatemi e o Rio Mar.

Da ich in Natal lebe, verbringe ich ein Wochenende in Fortaleza, eine Stadt mit ungefähr 3 Millionen Einwohnern!

Die Attraktion schlechthin der Hauptstadt von Ceará ist seine Küste, mit den Highlights zwischen den Stränden Praia de Mucuripe und Iracema, mit dem Metallkai Ponte dos Ingleses, das ins Meer hineinführt.

Das Herz des Ganzen ist der Ort, an dem sich die Handwerksmesse Feirinha de Artesanato befindet. Am Strand von Mucuripe können Sie schöne Fotos machen.

Während des Sommers gibt es Konzerte und andere Veranstaltungen auf dem dehr breiten Sandstrand von Praia de Iracema, dort wo die Stadt in der Nacht des 31. Dezember eine Riesenparty am Meer veranstaltet. Ein schönes Programm ist immer ein Spaziergang am Strand.

Darüber hinaus gibt es einige weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten, die einen Besuch wert sind wie z.B. das Teatro José de Alencar, das Kulturzentrum Dragão do Mar mit Kunstausstellungen, das Kinomuseum und das Areal für große Shows.

Besuchenswert auch der Central Market mit vielen Kunsthandwerksläden und Encetur, ein weiterer Ort, an dem Sie schöne handgefertigte Stücke erwerben können.

Der Besuch des Strandes Praia do Futuro ist ein eintägiges Programm, um Krabben zu essen und den Tag am Strand zu verbringen. Es gibt sogenannte “Super Trucks”, man muss sich den Soundtrack aussuchen, der am besten zu einem passt, und auch die Geduld haben, permanent “Nein Danke” zu den vielen Straßenhändlern zu sagen, die einem all so diverse Produkte anbieten.

Eines der empfohlenen Programme für diejenigen, die Forró tanzen möchten, ist der Besuch der Pirata Bar in Praia de Iracema, wo immer montags sehr viel Animation angeboten wird.

Fortaleza ist der Startpunkt für viele Exkursionen außerhalb der Stadt. Die am meisten kommerzialisierten sind der Beach Park, die Strände von Morro Branco, Fontes, Águas Belas, Mundaú, Cumbuco, Lagoinha, Canoa Quebrada und Jericoacoara. Für die beiden letzten empfehlen wir es nicht, Hin- und Zurück an nur einem Tage zu machen.

Fortaleza offeriert sehr viele Einkaufszentren, wobei Iguatemi und Rio Mar hervorzuheben wären.

As I live in Natal it is easy to spend a weekend in Fortaleza, a city with about 3 million inhabitants!

The main attraction of the capital of Ceará is its coast with its highlights between the beaches of Praia de Mucuripe and Iracema, with the metal bridge Ponte dos Ingleses leading into the sea.

The heart of the whole is the place where the craft fair Feirinha de Artesanato is located. At the beach of Mucuripe you can take nice pictures.

During the summer there are concerts and other events on the wide sandy beach of Praia de Iracema, where the city organizes a giant seaside party on the night of December 31st. It is always a nice program to walk on the beach.

In addition there are several other attractions that are worth a visit such as the Teatro José de Alencar, the cultural center Dragão do Mar with art exhibitions, the cinema museum and the area for big shows.

Also worth is a visit at the Central Market with its many craft shops and Encetur, another place where you can buy beautiful handycrafted pieces.

A visit to the beach Praia do Futuro is a one-day program to eat crabs and to spend the day at the beach. There are so-called “super trucks”, where you have to choose the soundtrack that suits you best, and also you have to have the patience to say “no thanks” to the many street vendors who offer you all kind of different products.

One of the recommended programs for those who want to dance Forró is to visit the Pirata Bar in Praia de Iracema, where a lot of entertainment is offered on Mondays.
